"Telling you a little about myself, from what I can tell, I know little to nothing about you as is and you must be teh same way about me. If you are that desperate for cubs, perhaps this is the best route for you to take. There was a reason why I quite the Demon's Den, destroying that stupid place, and scaring off that Maned Wolf that I 'worked' with," he spoke as he walked on for a while, not talking. Somewhere in him he wanted to have cubs, but the majority of his mind told him not to. He could harm her more so with the cubs. The mating would be difficult. And to say the truth, he had no idea where he stood at being a decent father.
He murmured quietly, a soft whisper, "If... I ever had cubs... I would need your help."

"It's true you would need help," she murmured with a momentary twitch of her maw in what might have been the start of a smile, "Last time I checked males couldn't have cubs all alone." The sliver of expression smoothed over and she she leaned her head against one leg, moving her other paw up his back, "But that doesn't mean you need me specifically, does it?" She was just being practical. She wasn't very confident in her position right now...heck, she wasn't very confident in anything currently.

"Now you are cracking jokes and being a smart a**? Well, that's something different than the depressed and tired Mwana from just a moment ago," he laughed as he tried to keep his back straight. He didn't quite walk dignifyingly more brutish as he pressed hard into the ground with each step. It seemed only natural of him to do things to boast off his strength and power, but he did it without quite knowing it.
"I would need help, I mean, I can't do things on my own, at least nothing as delicate as this. Hunting is what I do best because if I hold back, my prey will get away. If mated, I would end up hurting you more, and that isn't the purpose of the whole ritual. Caring for cubs would definitely be a challenge that I do not believe I can do," he sighed. "Mwana, if you were the mother, what would you do to help me?"

Mwana chose to ignore his comment about her cracking jokes. His comment about her was rude and profane, but being in a less conflicting mood she did not address it. She had to curl tigher and press closer to his back as he laughed so as not to fall off. She had to wait until his paced settled a little before replying, "I would do what any mother does; take care of the children. But I think you're undermining yourself. You don't think you could care for them?"

"Not so much care for them, but I would be a danger to them. If I could hurt you like I did, what would stop me from hurting them? They would only be cubs, Mwana, something much weaker than you," he lowered his head. "I could kill them even if I don't mean to. What would you do then, huh? What would I do then?"
He sighed as he continued to walk. "How desperate do you want these cubs anyways that you would want them with me? I would rather have you talk than me, you know..."

"You only gave me a scratch," she sniffed simply, though she only said so because she had realized when she was off on her own that it wouldn't scar. If it would then she probably would have been having a fit. "And you aren't dangerous, Trigger, not more then anyone. Because 99% of the time you are a very respectable lion," she added, relaxing slightly as she felt herself regain a bit of a balance again. She sighed, blowing her bangs from her face, "How could I explain? I guess it's just something we females are built to want...to feel naked without." Which, of course, wasn't the whole reason, but that didn't mean she didn't need it.

He sighed. "I'm glad it's just a scratch..." with a scoff. "Sounds like I missed," he walked along, slowly adjusting himself so he did not rock too hard as he walked. He could feel Mwana move on his back, trying to adjust herself to his rocky steps, but he was readjusting his tempo to be smoother. Legato. "Telling me I am not dangerous won't change my view of seeing myself as one. You were just unfortunate that you were here when I was having my tantrum. That is why I had summoned my half-brother to join us later, I would rather beat on him than you. That certainly solves out issue of putting you in danger. I'll admit that he can handle me just fine."
His pace slowed even more. "Saying that I am very respectable sounds like a lie to me. Though it may be the truth for you, I cannot accept it like one myself. Not yet."
He remained silent for a moment.
"I'll... think about it."

Mwana was quite for a moment. She had a choice to make. She could tell him what had happened to her...and explain what she wanted in life. But she had tried to do it before. Granted, she hadn't often picked the best times but...if she threw it back in her face again she wasn't sure how much she could cope. He said he wanted to know more about her. She wasn't sure she believed him. "Do you want to know a bit about me?" she asked, taking a very defensive and stiff tone as initial emotional protection for herself.

"It would certainly help me to know a possible mother to my cubs," he said a matter-of-a-factly. He looked back at her, looking with emerald eyes. He had brushed off everything she had told him before seeing it as useless information, but now... he wanted to hear it. he smiled lightly as he turned his head back, continuing to walk toward their destination. Their lead, Ahali's scent.
"I'll try to listen."

"I was born," she began in a very history-book type tone, "one of three daughters to the king of the mistweaver pride. As I've said before, he had another daughter with some temptress. She left when she was old enough, but that didn't prevent trouble. But that wasn't the real problem. Once father was gone the pride...kicked us out to fend for ourselves without so much as a goodbye. They didn't care if we starved or died or anything. So my sisters and I traveled...and I still wasn't wanted there, you must understand, they just used me to do all the dirty work. So all my life I've just been some unwanted something tossed from place to place...do you see why I get upset when you talk of throwing me off somewhere?" she paused, her voice having become a bit more "emotional", at least by her standards, as her explaination went on. She waited to see if he was actually listening at all.

"My friend was of the Mistweavers. I have only seen the place once when the Firekin invaded your lands, even then I was a slave to my father. Also where my mother was killed. I got that b*****d back either way," he scoffed. He hated to mention his father, but it was best be known. Either way, she was going to find out one way or another. "He is the one who helped me get away from that pride and gave me this name, to hide myself from any stupid brutes looking for me."
"You just told me a little about yourself, the rest I knew. I was there when you were hunting for your sisters and I took you away," Trigger's steps became slowed, walking slowly to a stop before looking over his shoulder. "Mwana, I am not "throwing" you off someplace, I told you that I was going to take you to a safe place. Somewhere you aren't going to be some slave, however, knowing Ahali, you'll probably be put into a hunter rank or a nanny rank, whatever he feels you are fit for. I can see it now..." he started to walk again. "Little cubs running all around you from Ahali's and Afu's litter, wanting you to tell them a story. Now isn't that a great mental image?" his voice was mocking, joking, playful as he spoke of the image only to die to his usual low, deep, gruff tone.
"On the bright side, I know you can hunt. You are not part of the Mistweavers, they do not welcome you there. You are a rogue. I am not welcomed back by the Firekin, they would kill me if they found me. I, too, am a rogue. Out here, you are on your own. No one will care about you if you died, no one would remember you. If you survive than you breed, if you don't then your line dies with you," he smiled. "Not us, you have me to hunt for you. And I got you to talk to, if not Fuku."

"No, no, no, NO!" Mwana cried ears flattening back. He had done it again! She shifted and stumbled off his back, though she managed to land clusmily on her feet. She bristled and darted back a few steps ears pressed against her skull and tail stiff. "What, am I some sort of toy for you? You just poke me for your amusement and torture me to make you happy? Because if you don't do it on purpose I don't know what to think! Because you always, always, always say exactly what hurts the most!" He was so pig headed, so stupid! How dare he try to strip of of all that she had left? Of all that remained of herself?

Trigger simply laughed a little as he turned his head to her. "I don't so what is wrong, Mwana. I am only saying what I see. I see you as the female who acts snobbish, someone who wants to get what she wants, someone who wants to remain the same. What good is being the same if there is no change? No change means things just get dull," the male started to walk again, seeing Fuku's form still walking oblivious to their conversation. At least they were alone. "I do care about you, Mwana, and you will have to face the truth one day. You are no longer a Mistweaver, though their blood runs thick in your veins, you cannot go back there. You may see yourself as one, I do not care. I see myself as a Firekin still, regardless how much I hate them. But once we reach this place, you will be someone different. Either you accept this change or not, you're still going."
"Do you still want the ride or are you going to walk...." he smirked. "MiLady"

If all he could be was crude she decided she just wasn't going to listen anymore. Nor was she going to spare him a word! He was an absolute brute! And insufferable pig! If she had anything else, anything, she'd leave. But she didn't. So instesad she let out an audible "hmph!" and walked right past him, keeping her eyes forward, tail and head high, and her mouth firmly shut. He always wanted something from her, some honestly or something and he didn't deserve any of it. You didn't have to be violent to be a beast.

Trigger gave a slight chuckle as he rolled his shoulders. He would not have said it but having a lioness on his back was nothing compared to having a dead corpse on his back. In all fact, if they continued that way to for too long, the time it took would be half what he expected. He brushed up against her lightly, licking her cheek softly, whispering even more quiet.
" I prefer it when you are made. Good to know the only female I care about is tough," with a smirk he continued to press on, his tail swaying lightly behind him.
