Silver gave a yelp when the cup dropped to the ground, and snagged a bandana out of his pocket, mopping up the cider before looking up at the shaken Keirro. Uh oh. She'd realized how young he was, at least cronologically....
"Um, Depending on things, Forever?" He'll give a wry grin, and sit back on his heels, then kneeling so he's on the same height as her. "Fa'e, well, its hard to explaing." He stopped a moment, thinking. "We're pure magic and chaos bound into a shell, reincarnations of powers of old. How I ended up in this company of fellows and ladies I don't know. I was just a bodyguard in my original life..."

"I forgot what someone once told me about the Fa'e. That they were apparently the reincarnation of legends. I'm not sure what to make of that. I believe in the here and now, but.." Silver was possibly going to out live her. Not only that, but grow more powerful with age. She then looked at Ranis, his origins were just as mysterious.
She looked at Silver with worry clearly in her eyes.
Ranis frowned and looked up at his guardian. He didn't want to see her sad, but he wasn't sure what to do. He climbed onto the couch and tried to simply stay out of the way, although he wanted to hug his guardian tight.

Silver gave a half shrug, and a crooked smile. "The past is the past, and who knows what the future may bring. The here and now is where we have to live... Cause we can't change the past, and worrying about the future too much will just bring grief." He reached out, and laid a hand on Keirro's shoulder, squeezing lightly.
He saw the worry there, but he didn't know how to assure her, to take the worry away, like he would like to. He could die in another couple of years, or he could live forever. This was something he'd struggled with for a while, and he still didn't have an answer. Reason he'd stopped worrying, and just started to live life for the moment.

The concept of living so freely was still a hard lifestyle for Keirro to put into pratice. She had fought like a savage beast to get a chance at the lifestyle she had now. Everything she did was for a better future. She never imagined that there were down sides to all of it. First, her nieghbors all acted as if she never existed and even insisted that she moved out so she wouuldn't start a "black tide", whatever the hell that ment. Then there was the fact that no one respected a black psychologist, and a female one to boot. She graduated at the top of the class and yet she was lucky to get two new patients a month.
Keirro hugged Silver tightly. There was no telling what he had gone through. He couldn't even walk into a grocery store without stares.
" You're so laid back." she looked at Ranis. "He's not one of yours, is he?" she asked.
Ranis sneaked up to the pair and cuddled in between the grownups. He flashed his guardian a reassuring smile. Why couldn't she understand that everything was gonna be okay, no matter what happened? Ranis didn't care if Keirro lived in a cardboard box, he still would love his guardian. In spite of her best efforts, the little cub was completely devoted to her and viewed her as his mama and pack leader. In return, he just wanted to make her happy.

He hooked an arm around Keirro, and chuckled. "Its taken some getting used to, learning to be this laid back. I used to worry a lot." At her second question, he'll look down at Ranis, and Shake his head. "I'm not sure what he is, but he's not a fa'e. Because of who I am, and the path i'm following, I can sense when a fa'e is nearby. So no, he isn't a fa'e."
He'll give a smile, and ruffle Ranis's hair a little. "What he is though, is a wild child. I'm sure he'll show you how to be a little laid back." He'll give Ranis a wink, and leaned back, relaxing a little, eyes half closed. He looked younger when he relaxed, and lines seemed to drain from his face, though the scars on his body where still there if one knew how to look.

Keirro smiled and scratched Silver behind the ears. She then sat Ranis on her lap and scratched Ranis between his newly growing horns.
"I wonder what he really is. I used to hate having him around, but now..." she looked at Silver and smiled. "It seems to be getter easier. I hope he grows into a wonderful person. Or at least, finds somewhere where he can belong. "asid Keirro.
Ranis laughed and tackled Silver. "I'm hunggu!" he barked as he tugged on Silver's bushy tail.

Closing his eyes, he melted when scratched behind the ears, biting his bottom lip a little. He gave a half squeek as Ranis tackled him, and chuckled. "Hungry little monster, are we? Well, I should get some food going then, shouldn't I?" He'll chuckle, and stand up after depositing Ranis on the couch, streaching as he padded over to his bags, scooping them up as he headed into the kitchen, humming a little. He set the bags down on the countertop, and started digging around, pulling out a sauce pan, a pacakge of itallian sausage, and couple of mason jars of sauce.
He bussied himself starting to brown the sausage, dancing in place a little, humming still, looking like he was enjoying himself.

Keirro quietly finished picking up the spilt cider. She brought the mugs to the kitchen while Ranis followed with full attention to Silver. The scent of cooking meat made her mouth water. She started to get dishes ready and began to set up the table. She chuckled to herself as she watched Silver groove in the kitchen.
Ranis, curious as always creeped to where Silver was cooking and peering as high up as he could see over the stoptop. His ears perked up and his nostrils flared as he took in the wonderful smells

Silver was slightly oblivious as he cooked, and he picked a couple of leather bags up out of the saddlebags. Opening them, he sprinked what looked like dried herbs over the meat, before stiring in the Sauce, humming a little. Turning in place, he picked out a large pot, and filled it with water, starting the water for the pasta as he rummaged around in his bag, pulling out a couple of baggies with fresh pasta in it, laying them down nearby as he continued to hum and groove, looking relaxed. He used a spoon to taste the sauce, looking thoughtful a moment...

Keirro was happily starting to fix a fresh batch of lemonade when she heard Ranis cry out. She turned to the boy and saw his grasping his hand, with tears streaming down his eyes.
"Ranis, what happened?" cried Keirro as she knelt by the boy and tried to look at his hand.
Ranis had somehow managed to touch the stove while trying to climb to see what Silver was cooking. He had never experienced a burn before and it hurt him so much. All he could do was hold his hand and cry as he begged Keirro to make it stop hurting.
"It hurt! Hurt!" he bawled.

Spinning around, Silver will turn on the cold water, and hoist up ranis, putting his hand under the stream of water. "Managed to get a hold of the stove, did you bucco? The stove's hot, and it'll burn ya." He'll pull the hand out of the water to look it over, see how bad the burn is.
He'll turn to Keirro, a sheepish smile on his face. "Sorry about this hun. I should have watched him closer. When I cook I tend to get flighty and not pay much attention to whats going on around me. Do you have a first aid kit around here?"

"it's okay. I have one in the bathroom. I'll go get it." Keirro gave a sigh of relief as Silver took control of the situation. At least one of them knew what was going on. She rushed into her bathroom and grabbed the first aid kit. She brought it into the kitchen and set it on the counter next to Ranis.
Keirro stood next to Silver and affectionately scratched hisback as she looked up to him. She waited to see if there was anything else she could do.
Ranis wimpered as the cold water poured over his hand. "Hot?" he mewed as he sniffled. It was starting to feel better, but the pain lingered in such an unfarmiliar way. He scrunched up his face as Silver looked at the burn. It wasn't anything too serious, just a great big red spot on his hand, but the unfarmiliar was more painful than it would be to someone who was used to such stings.

"Hot like fire." He'll look over the burn, and smile. "luckily your quick, so it didn't burn you too badly." He'll get out a bowl and fill it with ice and water, and have ranis stick his hand in that. "Keep your hand in there for a bit, then we'll patch you up before we eat." He'll turn back, and dig out a loaf of Garlic Bread, popping it into the oven to warm as he started the pasta, humming a little again, keeping one eye on Ranis as he did so.

Keirro smiled as she comforted Ranis. She looked over at Silver and watched him continue to prepare dinner. She even caught herself looking at his rear end. Whoa. that got weird. But why was it? They were going out, weren't they? Where was the harm in sealing a glance or two?
Keirro wondered if his friends knew about who he was dating, or if they even cared. Keirro thought about who she had dated in the past. All of those men had one thing in common, they were safe. Too safe. They wanted her to eventually fill the position of a traditional woman. Silver didn't seem that type, then again there was no telling what he had gone out with in the past. He probably didn't want to talk about it. Maybe that was something for another day. "You think you can be a brave boy and keep your hand in the water?" said Keirro as she turned her attention back to the squirming child on the counter
Ranis watched Keirro stare at Silver and tilted his head. What was she looking at? Ranis looked back at his hand, it was starting to feel numb from the cold water but that wasmuch better than that burning pain from the few seconds earlier.
"I'm hunggy." he mewed.

Silver tasted the sauce again, and then picked up the pot with the pasta, maneuvering it to the sink to drain it, putting it in a bowl. "Luckily, my hungry little friend, the food, is served..." He'll start setting it out on the table, getting out the garlic bread and slicing it before putting it on a plate. "Shall we eat then my fine feathered compatriates?" He'll wink at Keirro, and give a grin.
Had she been checking him out? Hmmmm. Interesting and more so. Maybe he should take her clubbing sometime, see if she knew how to let her hair down a little. He had a feeling that she did, though she hid it well. To well almost. She seemed almost to tightly wound. He'd have to do something about that...
