"I am sorry to hear about this wolf.. hopefully she will return again soon?" Spade tilted his head, and felt sort of sorry for bringing it up. It sounded like a sensitive subject, and he did not want to bring those kind of emotions out of the already broken mare. He really needed to learn how to approach conversation better.
He switched his words at her other statement, and hoped to recover the conversation better. "Ah well, I am glad to hear that you don't find that as strange. I was worried but, now I can rest assure."
He was quick to lift a brow at her other statement, and he shook his head lightly before shaking from a quick spasm. "Affection would never interfere.. since I don't believe in that sort of thing. I know this mare has her own love anyway, which makes me feel better." he would watch those two, especially if a family came into a play. He would help protect the good.. it was the right thing to do.
"You know, I have spent so much time doing other things, that is nice to not think about myself, ya know? Maybe try something like that for mind treatment?" It was a strange idea, but Spade felt like sharing it as it popped into his brain.

"Don't believe in it?" she asked tilting her head to the side, her silver eyes prying upon his as if she was silently willing him to answer. Why would he not want to believe in that sort of thing, don't others say that affection heals the soul? The black mare knew she had heard that somewhere before. She stayed where she was not inching forward or nearer at all, she was alright, but why would he not believe?
She wanted to know.
"I could try, though doing things for others, like what?" what could she possibly do?

"Well yeah, its not important to me. For some people, it marks everything about their life. But I personally don't want that sort of thing. I enjoy being a loner, it keeps me stable and happy." He nodded comfortably after sharing his thoughts. "Why, is that one of your goals or dreams? Its normal for many."
At her question, Spade only sighed, before thinking hard himself. "Well, what do you want to do? Learning to care about something or someone other then yourself goes a long way. It really is a strange but fascinating concept." Spade knew that for a fact, and he wondered if it could help the mare.
