Cornell seemed a little curious about the wail as well. He wasn't quite sure what it was but it sounded kind of like him when he'd hurt himself a couple of years ago. He watched as La'Tarah took off.
Not wanting to be left behind he quickly started to try and chase after her strugling to keep up with the two older minotaur.

May wiggled and squirmed and wailed like a banshee. This wasn't right, this wasn't mommy. But where was mommy?
Irmhead followed a few steps behind Cornell, taking the small steps as an opportunity to watch for dangerous creatures lured by the yells. He'd never been around children for long within memory and the sound was alien to him. All he knew was that something was hurt, and cries like that attracted predators more often as then they attracted help.

La'tarah hurried as quickly as she could, paying no mind to the clusters of grass and other assorted obstacles she almost tripped over. It wasn't long until she finally reached the source of the noise. "Alyxus!" she exclaimed, recognizing the familiar bull. She was instantly hit with a feeling of nostalgia, having not spoken or seen him in such a long time. That feeling was instantly pushed aside as she saw what he was holding. "Is that...?" She took a few more hurried steps toward him and let out a gasp of surprise. Her voice rose almost an octave as she squeaked, "a girl Minotaur?!"

"It's more than a girl," Alyxus bounced the little bundle soothingly in his arms, patting her little back. "She's scared and alone. No mother in sight, what's more."
He looked around. This was unusual, how could a child so small just show up like this out of nowhere? Finding her was only half the tale and it bothered Alyxus that he did not see that the other half would reveal itself anytime soon. The infant's crying didn't seem to make him nervous or alarmed, fatherhood instincts just took over and he held her securely and touched her with soothing, warm hands.

Cornell appeared a little while after as he finally caught up with La'Tarah. He saw the two other new people and quickly clung to La'Tarah's leg not quite sure what to make of them. They looked similiar to him! That made him feel a little better however he was still shy and dared not stray too far from La'Tarah's side.
(( Remember, I'm still playing Cornell as a child until enough time passes that would seem realistic that he grew to a teen xD ))

Irmhead stared at the screaming child as if it was a strange monster. He understood that the dark bull holding her was the Alyxus he'd heard so much about but he made no reaction. Every time he tried to think the tiny brown mass in his arms would scream again and the thought would be drowned and lost. He took a step back, then turned and marched back toward the forest. Even if they moved they'd be taking an infant and a child with them so they wouldn't be going far. He could allow himself some time to hunt and gather, allow that thing a bit of time to shut up.
She was getting tired now, all the fuss was wearing her down. But far from putting her to sleep it egged her on. Not only was mommy missing, but little May was tired and her tummy was starting to grumble. She hadn't noticed the three arriving, and didn't glance once at Irm as he left. She was determined, instincts told her that if she screamed long enough and loud enough her mother would come back.

Seeing the baby cry in such a way stirred up emotions in La'tarah. She remembered being so young and helpless herself, with no one she could truly depend on. Maternal instincts took over as La'tarah reached out her hands. "Here," she said to Alyxus, slowly taking the baby into her own hands. "Shhhh...there there, it's all right," she said softly, adjusting her hold so that it becomes more secure. She used the back of a finger to brush the baby's hair to the side. "Everything is just fine now. We're all here," she murmured, though it was unclear whether she was saying it to the baby or to herself.
Regardless, she carried the baby carefully and smiled to herself before looking up to Alyxus and down to Cornell. A frown was desperately trying to work its way onto her face upon realization that Irmhedd had left, but La'tarah kept her hopes up and tried to alleviate the situation. "It has been a while, Alyxus," she spoke to the older minotaur. "I'd like you to meet Cornell." She nodded down to the boy behind her, all the while patting and tickling the baby to try to comfort her.
