The roots had a tasty smell to them that was even more wonderful when Rowan bit into it. With out meaning to the Minya found him self licking his chops. His attention turned to the second root.
"Would you mind If I had the other?" He was not the kind to ask others for food but he hadnt eaten in a while.

Rowan lifted a paw as if to concede her earned roots, but then stopped midway. Her smile was quite mischievous, "It'll cost you, my friend."
She chuckled softly, before turning back to finishing the root while he thought on her meaning.

Amazingly a look of annoyance sprouted on his face. The usual calm Depth was now annoyed, or, was it pouting? Depths features returned to normal.
"What kind of cost are we talking here? Service or a trade of items?" He dug his paws deeper into the snow. For some odd reason it was warm when you dug deep enough.

Rowan smirked at Depth, thinking he was quite interesting to watch. She liked to push his different buttons to see what sort of response she might find underneath next.
"I suppose it would be a service. I'd want to know more about you and if you'll be staying a while. A conversation, where you actually have to say more than one sentence." She grinned at him, she was quite pushy when she wanted to be.

A conversation didnt sound so hard, though his social skills were in the lacking area. It was a fair trade. The Minya gave Rowan a nod of approval.
"...Well where to start where to start? Oh I know! Feelings! What am I feeling right now? Bitter and cold and hungry but Ive found my self in a bit of a pinch where in order to get the food I want I have to talk to you in more than one sentence! Hmmmm how are you feeling Rowan? " He gave her a sassy smile.

Rowan sat down, making a nest of sorts for herself, pushing aside the cold snow. Living here so long, she knew how to keep warm if necessary.
She looked up at him with a lazy look and smirked. "You have to give to get. I'm feeling alright, though it feels like you've intruded on my homeland, and I would like to know more about why. Will you be trying to stay here long?"

Depth shook his head, "I really didnt mean to intrude in here to be honest. If you really want to know why I'm here I'll tell you. Simply, I just dont like other Minya or beings in gerenal. I thought that coming up here would rid my self of the daily announces of other beings but I stand corrected as you already know." It was true this minya was rude, anti social, and just plain selfish. The Minya's tail twitched from side to side creating a line in the snow where it twitched. He was slightly annoyed but for some reason this minya was not as annoying as others he had encountered.

Rowan grinned knowingly and chuckled. "You think you're the only one who wants to get away and be alone? My only friend in the world is an Itoku from the Valley. I think it serves me well that he lives so far and we can remain good to one another. You can stay nearby here if you wish, you seem the sort who wouldn't get in my way." She gave him another grin before continuing, "So are you a rogue Minya then? Travelling the lands on your own?"

Depth blinked , he was surprised at her kindness. He wanted to say thanks but the words were stuck at the tip of his tongue. He nodded and gave her a grin.
"Thats very kind of you. I guess not all Minya are annoying. I can tolerate you." He smiled again. Some how she really understood him. That was a rare thing.

Chuckling under her breath, "Is that a compliment? Or just as much of one as I'll be receiving?" Rowan grinned up at him, then flicked the root over to him with the tip of her wing.
"I'm not sure how you might find food up here, but I'm personally still hungry if you're up to tolerating me through another meal?" She smiled at him as she stood up, flexing her wings, then bracing herself against the cold.

Depth smiled and bent over devouring the root in a few gulps. She was right though the meal was not enough to satisfy his hunger. Food would be a problem up here but he could store.
"We could gather and share if you like?" He did know a few places on the lower parts that had some good food.

Rowan smiled at him, "That's acceptable. Have a starting place or would you like to try my favorite spots?"
She tucked her wings in closely to her body, now that the strangeness of this newcomer was over and she had finally cracked his shell a bit, she rather enjoyed the thought of spending time with another rogue as independent as herself.

Depth smiled and nodded, "Yeah. Down in the valley theirs a small stream that has a lot of wild mushrooms and berrie bushes. Its a really good spot to gather and the same stream leads to a bigger stream with fish. I used to live around there but some other minya moved in near by...." He shook his head. "Though the food is worth it."
He had not realized how much his shell had worn off. Rowan was different for some reason. He couldnt put his paw on it.

Rowan nodded with a bright smile, fish and berries were always a delightful treat for her. She rarely left her snowy home except to visit her friend and on those occasions he would help in preparing a meal for them both of berries and nuts.
"I'll let you lead. I'll even promise to not fly unless you need a scout." She chuckled softly, she did enjoy flying but it tired her easily and she would rather save herself in case something happened in which she would need the use of her wings.
