La Fantome de le opera Ceribri Awesome. Lucky you guys!
I usually ask first thing if they've actually heard of it...I gave up a month or so ago.. -forgets that most normal 15 year olds don't watch British shows-
It usually goes something like this, if I can even think I have a chance getting a response:
Me: "Hey, just wondering, but have you heard of Doctor Who?" Them: "What?" Me: "No, Who. It's this British sci-fi show. Amazing stuff, really..." -trails off- Them: -blank expression- xD Same here. In fact, most 13 year olds don't know where Britain is. rolleyes O.o they dont know where Britain is? I live in Australia and people no where it is But lucky for me Doctor Who is well known here mrgreen

Ceribri Hehe. I was in line for a few hours waiting for the Harry Potter movie tickets and such (USA, east coast) and I'm talking about how the books and all are different from the original British ones, and about how there's some awesome British cast in the movies, and we're talking about that, and he's all: "Yeah, Doctor Who is good too. I watch it sometimes." Me: *jaw drops* And he's at least twenty years older than I am, too. Unfortunately that's all he said.. *sigh*
Oh, and my History teacher referenced Bill and Ted (by name). I knew what that was despite never seeing it. So I grinned and the people around me kinda looked odd at me. xD Ahhh yes, the exact same thing tends to happen with me. But on the rare occasion you do actually run into a whovian, and then start chatting about favorite doctors and companions and aliens and episodes while onlookers give you this kind of weird stare... Heh, if I ever hear people talking about it I either give them a big grin or (if I'm not feeling particularly shy) go and start a conversation.

Tell me about it, my friend and I went to a water park rented one of those giant two person floats went to the Lazy River, and got into deep metaphysical discussions about politics, religion, and eventually got into a rather comedic discussion about Doctor Who.
Thoose poor people there were probably scarred for life- two girls floating by talking about time-travel, aliens, and doctors.
Yeah, sadly there is about 2 know whovians in the city where I live (Me and my friend), Texas isn't that big on DW. Though I have scarred a few people with my obbession. XD

Ok, this is a little wierd for me since I'm a teacher but now I'm starting to sound a lot like the Ninth Doctor when I teach.
For example, I'm starting to use Fantastic a lot when I'm giving a lesson or a lecture. And one of my students commented that my classes were "intense" since I teach Civics and Economics or as I call it Real Life 101.

Happens with random teachers allllllll the time. That's how I ended up inviting my physics teachers daughter to be pushed around the school in a dalek. ANd then we took the toilet plunger and egg whisk out and swordfighted around until said teacher came out and was like 'are you killing my daughter?' and i was like 'no......'
And on science camp (omg nerd) I met this guy and we started talking and found out we both liked doctor who and now we're good friends! we went and saw beowulf yesterday. it sucked.

I used to, when I lived in Ga, wear my 13 foot Dr Who self knitted scarf when the temperature dropped into the teens...(yes it does that on occasion in Atlanta). Would get comments on it all the time from people who recognized the reference...
And yes, it was quite warm. Gave it to a friend when I left the state. I really should knit another one...since I now live in Massachusetts.
