Bogus_Burger [Ralph] Bogus_Burger Thanks everyone. She said it's a stye. no, cones beat rods. I've had that twice.
Mine was from wearing my contacts too long (I'm supposed to change them out every month. I never do).
Not good times.
I feel your pain. Ouch! I think once is more than enough. I can't imagine having this twice. Yes, it's quite painful. x.x
I had to wear my glasses for a month until it fully healed.

Captain Wingo Muahahaha... Neither do I.... I have 6/5 vision!!! (Better than perfect... i.e. better than 20/20) Mines an insane 40/20 in bright light (I see at 40 ft what most see at 20. but brightlight hurts so generally I'm all squinty) and an even more insane 60/20 in moderate light. Also have wonderful night vision. I also do the sunglasses thing, as like wingo, I am becoming pilot!

All the luck in the world, both good and bad. As I said, bright light HURTS. I mean like if someone shines a flashlight in my eyes, its like a punch in the gut but through the eyes.

I'm like 20/100, astigmatic, with lazy eye. I'm thinking I should apply to be a pilot, and then sue according to the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Mooby - What, claim you weren't accepted due to your vision impairment? Won't work. 1. As you could guess, it is a safety issue. 2. Aviation is just about the only industry that can be as politically incorrect as it wishes. The leading organisations (such as ICAO) can even ban pilots based on ethnicity.
J - Nice! Have you began training yet? I'm off for a flying lesson this arvo.

xD I began learning how to fly before I began learning how to drive! I prefer flying to driving, it's much easier and you don't have idiots surrounding you

Captain Wingo I've never had one surprised And I officially declare myself the winner of the Cones vs Rods debate for BB hasn't come back at me! To do that would be to commit the fallacy of silence (as I'm pretty sure it's called): To claim that you are correct due to your opponent's lack of response.

Well, my vision is dodgy (I'm astigmatic but still have good night vision. What the hell, body?), and I wear glasses (supposedly only for reading, but I wear them all the time anyway). I would make a very bad pilot, but I do have an uncle who was a Group Captain in the Air Force until very recently!

Nice surprised (your uncle that is xD) I've noticed a lot of people don't have good vision, I thought it would be more common to have good vision than bad

Yeah, you'd probably like him, Wingo. ^.^ You'd think so, wouldn't you? But I think people with bad vision are just more...noticeable? than people with good vision, so maybe that's it.
