Musketeer eyed her for a moment and tried to regain a bit of composure, but it was very difficult. He had to tear his gaze away from those deep eyes and look around.

"We had best move this all away..." He went to the nearest pile of dirt and turned about. He aimed and made sure Necrala wasn't in the way before kicking it back into the forest behind him. He shook off a thin layer of dirt and huffed, he would need a dunk in a stream after this.

--- Following the other wolf's example the corpse-like female began towards the dirt piles, making sure to keep out of range whilst he flung it back from her den-entrance, the femme began to pull it back with her front paws, each time moving the dirt back instead of kicking it back and all over. Much neater.

Musketeer finished off the last pile sending it spraying into the forest, woe to any creature in it's path. He shook off and snorted a fine mist of dirt still clinging to his fur.

"Well that was quite a workout..." He made no gesture or facial expression to show that his hind leg was a bit sore from the sudden burst of excersize.

"Do you know the nearest river or stream I could wash up in?" He didn't want to go off and leave her drinking source a muddy mess.

--- Her lip wrinkled in a look of slight peeved-ness as he shook himself, taking a hasty step away as to not get any more dirt on her, which she had half succeeded by standing near the candy-bar male in the first place. Half amused by her own thoughts the femme wondered if she did actually like the brown-covering over her dead coat. Though, not completely covered enough to hide the decaying tone, it made her look more like a zombie crawled from the grave than anything.

--- What did he want now? To wash himself up? Why couldn't that useless wolf do it himself? It wasn't that hard, besides, didn't his pack have 'so many' water sources? How useless was he?

--- Giving a nearly inaudible growl with her sigh, the small, cadaver-furred wolf swung her head to the right momentarily, giving him a cold look. "Yes. Over that way." Necrala replied, assuming that the wolf could find it himself. It was quite a general direction, though.

Musketeer sighed as he noticed Necrala looked once again displeased, with him. No matter what he did or said it seemed to end with her upset. He nodded at her and muttered softly.

"Thanks..." Slowly he slunk off feeling rather disheartened.

After a bit of wandering around Musketeer found the cold stream and jumped right in. He shook off and shivered scrambling back onto the dry land and shaking off. He frowned and looked down at his hind leg feeling the sudden soreness. Slowly he bent to lick at where the wound had been trying to warm the spot back up and fight off the twinge of pain. With that settled he shook off once more so had was only slightly damp and walked slowly back to where Necrala was.

Why he was returning to the female was beyond him, perhaps he had grown pathetically used to her contempt and was willing to take what he could get. He couldn't recall ever having been treated with such distaste by anyone.

--- Finally.... The femme thought to herself, watching as the silver male left from her meadow. He had a habit of not leaving easily, and the last times she got away from him he went and got shot, the other time she had to practically run him through Telk. Musketeer was proving quite tricky to deal with, with his odd tastes in women, definitely.

--- Certain that the wolf had truly left the area, the corpse-femme began to patrol the nearest border of 'her' land, the nearby woods. The section of water that the male had found was outside her lands, because on purpose she had thought of the farthest away water source and lead him in that direction. Replacing scent markers was a simple job, she figured with him intruding so often they must've worn off.

--- Believing that Musketeer was gone for good Necrala crawled into her freshly-made den, nose wrinkling lightly at the scent of the male wolf intermingled with fresh upturned earth. Despite such she curled herself up in the corner and fell unconscious, now alone.

Musketeer returned and sniffed about, after a moment he poked his nose down into the den and smiled. Necrala looked so much nicer sleeping, granted she also looked kind of dead sleeping. He slunk down quietly and moved to lay down beside her, just as he had imagined while digging the larger den.

He had no desire to wake her and have her aggitated and wanting to be rid of him once more. He gently nuzzled his nose under her chin and over her paws wriggling until her head was resting on his neck. The slight pressure felt nice and while he was sure she would indeed mind, he would take what oppertunity he had to at least pretend she liked him.

Poor dellusional Musketeer, never had he tried so hard for such little reward.

--- Strangely enough, the lithe, barrel-chested femme didn't do more than stir at the odd male's self-request. Thoroughly beat from dealing with him all day and the previous night's (unfruitful) hunt had her done in, and she was in no state to be a light sleeper. Rustling gently in her sleep, an ear twitched and a nose wrinkled, momentarily a growl settling onto her lips, but it soon fell away with another shuffle.

--- One could only wonder what she could be dreaming about with that, strong enough to keep her detached from the odd reality that someone was enjoying her company, possibly even more so when she was unconscious.

Musketeer smiled softly as the growl faded and lightly inhaled the unique soft smell that was Necrala. He slowly closed his eyes and decided he could stay for the night if she didn't wake, he had done his patrols for the pack and Crunch was always doing them as well. Slowly he drifted off wondering why he couldn't convince the female above him that this was how to live life.

His dreams were quiet ones, a hopeful vision of Necrala with him in his pack laying by a stream together, but instead of the growls of contempt that so often came from her muzzle directed at him there were gentle nuzzles. A pity he would eventually have to wake...

--- Her dreams were full of mixed feelings, old pack members, her mother and her siblings, her mother especially. Nuzzling her and holding her against her warm body, ushered out to a remote point in the woods away from the rest to spend time with her. Howls of protest of the others, an arrow, a bucket, fresh-dirt and litter-mates. A strong scent of blood, bushes, racing trees. A snare. Often the female would move in her sleep, but never enough so to wake herself up, rest laying in the crook between Musketeer's shoulder-blades and his own head, while his own rested over her paws.

--- She knew not how long she slept, but surely long enough, for outside the faint sound of chirping birds came to her ears, and, though slightly reluctantly, she allowed herself to wake. The first thing that confused her upon regaining consciousness was that she was unable to move her paws. Another body, warm and furry, lay pressed in close proximity to her own, and something furry as well she had laid her head upon, and whatever it was, it certainly didn't belong to her.

--- Necrala's dark eyes flew open, and not yet adjusted to the darkness, were unable to identify this stranger. A flurry of excitement erupted in the den, a howling, snarling bark of protest roared from the female as she shoved against the larger creature, resounding against the well-packed walls. Fur bristled and jaws snapped angrily, outraged and both surprised and frightened that someone, something would invade her space.

Musketeer's mind was so calm with the happy dreams floating through his mind that the last thing he expected was to wake to the flurry of excitment he had. Musketeer shoved against a wall and tried to leap out of the den.

"Necrala!" He frowned as she snapped at him and tried to back away.

--- Watching the darting shape in front of her the femme brandished her jawls, snapping out at the air menacingly towards the creature. She was unsure of whether it really was Musketeer or just the left-over scent of him in the den around her, and didn't want to mistake one for the other. But his cry brought the answer, and though fur was kept still bristled, she stopped snarling.

--- "Muske- What're you doing in my den?!" Necrala snapped, ears sewn back against her head.

Musketeer frowned at her posture and tone and shook off frowning at the sting from her first few snaps. He wriggled his nose and tried to make sure his muzzle wasn't bleeding.

"Someones a cranky waker...I fell asleep in here...after I washed up." He tried to lick the bridge of his nose, but failed miserably. He sighed and pawed at it instead.

--- That had to be the worst answer she'd ever heard. She sent him on a wild-goose chase through the woods and he simply came back? He was meant to go back to that 'pack' of his and leave her be! She knew Musketeer wasn't dead and thus her conscience was free, so why'd she need him? The answer was, she didn't.

--- "If you just 'fell asleep' here, then how'd you end, up like, lik, like you were?!" Necrala protested, quite flustered and still quite upset. Where did he get the permission to get that close to her, to sleep in her den? To even be in her terra in the first place? Had he no nose to scent the property markers?!

Now THAT was a perfectly reasonable question, and while he had a perfectly reasonable answer he wasn't about to embaress himself with it. He flushed and coughed standing a little taller and puffing his chest out.

"Well...I...I wanted to protect you." He huffed and hoped she wouldn't keep on about their position. What was wrong with getting close...for warmth. That was it WARMTH that was why he had been so close.

"It was cold!" He stated with a nod. "You havent filled the den with anything to keep you warm, no bedding...and if it got cold in the night...why you could freeze." He added with a censuring tone.
