A part of Trev beamed inside at the praise of Memory; like many doting brothers, (or fathers, or uncles, or what have you) he adored hearing those he cared for praised by outsiders. However, another part of him was curious; the fact that Memory had left such a positive impression on Naina was interesting, considering that he himself didn't know that they'd met beyond foalhood. That just meant that he needed to have a long talk with Memory, though...
That would be done later, though. For the moment, he merely nodded his head, tacit agreement with the praise of Memory. "She's a good mare, Mems."
However, that was all he was willing to say on that subject. "It certainly has its benefits, especially if you don't want to be seen and can use the shadows to your advantage. It's also a pretty good time to be alone with your thoughts, as most Soquili aren't out and moving much at night."

She had met Mother since then as well. Somehow she had run into each of her family members.. and it had been nice.. Except her meeting with her brother. But, this meeting seemed to be going so much smoother than last time.
"True, only Soquili you cant escape, are the ones who feel the same way about the night as you." She said, offering a smile.
She found it odd that Trev and Jean were so alike.. And that even if Trev never admitted it, he had some of her own tendencies! The genes of Nostalgia and Father had merged completely to make three little clones of themselves. All with hair of black curls, all with Jeans creme coloring, all with something from Nostalgia. Her own cloven hooves, even without a horn on her head, Trev's horn, and the little chain he carried on his leg, and Memory's horn and wings.
Well.. Memory looked almost exactly like mother though.
"Mems? Is that what you call her? It's cute." She said, wishing somewhere inside that her own brother would have a nickname for her one day.

At that, Trev only shrugged. It was true that there were others that relished the night, but for the most part those Soquilis were out for the same reasons he was, to have a little peace and time for introspection. There were also those that used the night for darker purposes, but thanks to Draven he knew how to avoid THAT type.
The remark on Memory's nickname provoked another shrug; it was one of the things he called her, just as she called him Trev. When one was given a multi-syllable name, they had to do something about it, especially when a child with a limited enunciation ability. "It works; I've always called her that, and she's always called me Trev." Though he honestly didn't know who started that. It might very well have been her, as his mother always called him by his full name...
However, having said that, he once again lapsed into silence. Perhaps things were a bit more conversational than they'd been...but that still didn't mean that he felt like offering anything up.

"How is Memory and Mother?" She decided to finally give in and ask. She hadnt seen either, and she knew in her heart that she'd wonder later.
Giving her tail a little shake, she smiled at Trev. It wasnt really a mischevious suspicious smile.. She was giving him her friendly glance, because honestly, he had done nothing to deserve otherwise.
[Sorry so short. My Naina muse is dwindling]

"They're doing their own thing." To put it mildly. The last time Trev and Memory had gone back home, they'd been greeted by Draven, who had given them the unexpected and stunning news that Nostalgia had literally departed the Soquili lands, taking herself back to the places she inhabited prior. It had been rough news; though usually the rock for his sister (at least in his own mind), Trev had been the one to be utterly shaken by the news. However, reassurance that she would be back again when the season was right was enough to help him get past that depressing moment and move on.
As for Memory, well, she was off exploring on her own; no longer tha anxious little filly, she was more than capable of doing her own thing. Last time, they hadn't had much catching up, but he knew odds were he'd find her again before too long, then they'd REALLY have things to talk about.
However, beyond that Trev offered no information, his head tilted back so that his small horn was poking at the side of the tree. At the moment, going into deatil was honestly something he had no interest in, not when he was still suspicious of Naina and her motives.
Nor, of course, did he return the query. There was no one else to ask about, after all.

She could see the look of mistrust on his face. He really didnt look like he was doing too much to hide it. She narrowed her eyes just a bit, and only for a second, then her smile was back.
"I see that you don't trust me. You don't have to trust me to talk to me though. And if it's trust you seek, I can try and help clear your record of me."
She was fully up to him asking her questions or something of the sort. Surely there had to be a way to break down his wall. What did he have to be suspicious of? That was the real worry.

Upon hearing that blunt comment, Trev raised one dark brow, eyeing Naina for a long moment before, all at once, quirking his lips up into the first real smile of the entire conversation. "You're persistant, aren't you?"

She grinned a little, even though her body was jumping on the inside, her heart smiling as well. She should have been glowing.
"I guess you could say that. And I've been told it is one of my greatest flaws."
She said, puffing out her chest in mock pride.

"Yeah, well, it really could be damned annoying." Still, Trev's tone was amused as he spoke, and he looked away from the apparently all-entrancing stars to give Naina an equally amused look. "Especially from a sibling point of view. Theoretically, you should cower and whimper and wander off, concerned at the prospect of my displeasure."
Or whatever. Because he WASN'T thrilled to see her, still didn't trust her, etc. etc. But she'd come over and planted herself nonetheless, willing to get grunts and shrugs for answers. If nothing else, the persistance was admirable, as well as amusing.

She smiled, and gave a bit of a shrug.
"Annoying is one way to see it, yes." She looked at him, and took note of the amusement in his eyes. He looked just like daddy..
"Sibling point of views are most honest! They have something to tease you about later." She nodded, smiling.

"Yeah, well..." Shaking his head, Trev looked away from Naina once more, his expression retaining a hint of his amusement but otherwise sliding back into the more serious look he'd sported earlier. Things didn't amuse him for terribly long, at least not in rlation to something he still wasn't sure about. But it was a step.
And that step reminded him of something else, something that had come up last time they'd met. She was a grown mare now, not an impressionable filly...and fillies had a habit of growing up; even changing. Could colts do the same? And did he even WANT to?
However, that sort of mulling was for another time. At the moment...he could try something a little bit new. "So...what sort of things have you been up to lately, Naina?"

Naina flicked her ebony curls of a tail behind her, ridding herself of any flies that dare try. Then casting her amethyst gaze back at him, she couldnt help but smile.
It was one of those things she felt inside. She didnt feel so awkward, and indeed welcomed a little friendly conversation.
"Things have been going well.. Though I, and my mate, are having a rough time.. But everything else in life is absolutely divine.." She said, not going into too much detail about Amaroq, and not wanting to go on about her life, specially how dull it had been lately.

...Well. That she had a mate already, Trev hadn't realized; the knowledge that she not only had one but was having issues made his insides twist a little as he suppressed the urge to comment on what to him seemed like a markedly strange coincidence. After all, she wasn't that long mated (theoretically, anyway; after all, he himself still considered himself a young adult, and as such she would be one too and therefore couldn't have been mated for THAT long) and having martial issues, just like their parents had had. He couldn't say he was suprised; it was entirely possible that some behaviors were recurrent, espeically if two generations had rushed into mating. That was a big reason that he himself kept himself distant from such things, having never seen anything but trouble come from it.
However, all of this he kept to himself. If Naina had chosen to take a mate, that was her business; if they were having issues, that was also their business. He only hoped that there were no kids in the equation, as Naina herself knew firsthand how much it sucked to be the child of a broken family.
Not that he himself was complaining about his lot, not even in his thoughts. He was better off the way things had been. Though perhaps Naina's kids would be better off with only one parent as well..
With a slight shake of his head, Trev dismissed such thoughts; the last thing he wanted to do with his night was waste it pondering imponderables. Instead, he merely nodded, offering by way of acknowledgement "I see."
So much for THAT conversation.

Oh damn. She had gone and done the conversation killer again. Well, that was good on her record now.
"What do you like to do Trevelyn? In your past time, I mean?"

Having once lost the interest to continue with the conversation, it was really hard to get that interest back. However, at the very least Trev was able to admit that he was trying; this just happened to be a bad topic, conversation-wise. If she had little to say about what she'd been up to, he had even less!
"Honestly? Not that much. I prefer to be on my own, mostly, so I wander around. Head home to see how everyone's doing from time to time, try to keep up with all the news and that, but that's really it. Like I said earlier, I'm not really a 'fun' stallion."
