Kikawaida chuckles lightly "Nownow ila." She whispers looking to Mkugenzi "My friend here has aggreed to help you learn to pounce." Sehe lets a puurr rol over her lips then nudging her daughter and granddaughetr lightly. "Don't be too rough though okay? He's mighty tough but we don't wnat to hurt him."
Mkugenzi chuckled lightly looking between the two cubs. "Lil moights loike them they can't be 'urtin me none Kika." He nodded breifly and waddled away a few feet sitting with his back to them. "Jus' don' ye be usin them teeth 'o' yourn, oi be needin mah fur fer tha col' months." he grunted his tail folding around his stout little body.
Kikawaida smiles and lowers herself to the two cubs levels. "Now one at a time heers what you do, lower yourself right to the ground and feel the soil beneath your paws, if it moves your prey will hear you, you have to be nice and quiet and get as close as possible before you pounce okay?" She smiles and nudges Ukoo softly "You first Ukoo, off you go and don't forget be very quiet."

Ukoo laughed and shook her head no, she couldn't really understand the genet either.... but then again Ukoo talked a bit oddly, so she really didn't notice that much of a difference.She looked up too her grand mother and crouched down too, though her tiny hind end wagged. She was so excited with the fact that she was out with her grammy and her Ila. She blinked slowly at the genets back, when she realized what her grammy said and paused.
Something about the crouching, the ground under her paws, was familiar and seemed right. She snuck, her body quivering in her excitment. Closer, and closer to crept before-she pounced up and no onto the Genet but beside him- with her tiny paws in the air. Suuuwpise! She exclaimed.

((I'm so sorry it's taken me so long to reply!! gonk I had a flatsale at my shop and it's been crazy for the past week. ))
Ila listened intently, forcing herself to try to understand the little creature. He did seem to have a sort of... familiar way about himself. As if he'd been through all this before. Ila wanted to be a great huntress, so tried very hard to be polite and not ruin her chance at learning to pounce.
Her muscles tensed in response as she watched her cousin silently approach the creature, her own tail swaying in time to Ukoo's as she crept closer and closer.
At Ukoo's exclamation, Ila's own tail fluffed out in surprise, and she nearly burst out of her skin at the unexpected climax.
She knew of course, that Ukoo wasn't supposed to hurt Mother's friend, but wasn't there something about grabbing and biting and making sure they didn't escape?
Either way, Ila reasoned silently as she tried to calm down and smooth out her fur, Ukoo's technique could probably scare any creature to death.

The deep green genet reacted the moment Ukoo bood at him, a feined lok of surprise on his maw though his olive coloured eyes glimmered happily. "Boi croikey lassy ye be scared me 'arf to death!" he chuckled looking up at Kika. "Oi dun be thinkin' thissun needs much trainin' she be soilent as a lamb." He grins and gives a wink.
Kikawaida giggles. "Well all little cubs need some training but obviously my daughter and grand daughter are already professionals." She smiles tilting her head to nuzzle her youngest daughter. "Your go now Ila, keep your body close to the ground and sneak up, very quietly, and be gentle with Mkugenzi, he's not indestructable." she smiled,s he had seen the look in Ila's eyes, she wanted to acctually pounce not just scare the dark green muteladid.

Ukoo was so pleased with herself for surprising the Genet that she didn't really care if she was supposed to be learning how to kill something-without the killing. She gazed over at Kika and bounded too her-her tiny paws flying and her laugh giddy. To Ukoo, this was a game-having fun was something she liked to do and she loved doing it.
She went too Kika and sat-observing how Ila did it-how she hunted... and was intriuged to find her own tiny bottom swayed with her aunties.

Ila preened a little at her Mother's praise, choosing not to hear her half-jesting tone and taking it to heart instead.
Thrilled with Ukoo's success, Ila's muscles were tingling eagerly as she dropped into what she thought was a "professional" crouch and waited. It seemed silly to begin her pounce right away, since she knew that the Genet would be expecting it, so she waited in perfect stillness, counting her breaths as she concentrated on making no sound, as Mother had instructed.
The wind blew in her face, bringing the smell of the funny little creature directly to her sensitive nose. There was a faint tangy smell that Ila realized must have been from when Ukoo surprised him. It seemed to be fading as she waited.
Lifting one paw, she paused, took another breath and set it down before her, pausing again to make sure that she hadn't made a sound.
The distance between her and Mkugenzi seemed very long and fraught with obstacles. The mud was wet and sticky, and Ila remembered that if she waited too long, she was liable to get stuck in it again, as she had trying to pounce Ukoo.
Another paw came forward, and Ila eased her slight weight onto it carefully and began creeping forward only when she thought that the Genet was calm once again.
The distance between them closed slowly, and up ahead a small speck circling in the sky uttered a high-pitched keen that seemed to signal a response in Ila.
Unable to wait any longer, she released her pent up energy and pounced at Mkugenzi's, toppling into him with a squeaky, yet no less fierce yowl of triumph. Sprawled across the Genet, Ila had him effectively pinned. Purring delightedly, she lapped his face and fur with her raspy tongue.

The genet toppled over with her strong pounce and having been pinned by the small chocolately brown lioness he laughed. "Oy don' be needin' a bath lass" he grinned broadly looking at Kikawaida with a slight beg in his eyes. He didn't mind being pounced it was having the wind knocked out of him that he minded.
Kikawaida chuckled quietly padding up behind Ila and grooming her daughters head. "That was very good." She coos picking up the little cub and setting her to oneside of the deep green genet to let him get some air. "Now, I want you both to thank Mkugenzi for helping you to learn to pounce." She smiles gently nudging both girls towards the deep green genet.

Ukoo watched as Ila began to crouch and stalk the green friend of grandma-and her gleeful laughs and hind end wiggling-showing that Ukoo was enthralled in this game. Ukoo would not be a very good hunter-and would only be well at it when she was alone... She exclaimed in a happy squeal when Ila tackled the genet and she bounded over-her tiny dirty paws padding happily and heavily on the ground. Yay Ila! She said, her tiny hind end wagging furiously. Her auntie would be a good hunter-Ukoo could tell.
She then turned too the green genet and with a smile and a sweet coo she spoke - Thank yous mista' Miikzugensi fos helpin us pouncy wounce She said, her tiny eyes glowing in delight.

Ila, completely wired up from the fun of pouncing lessons, romped around her mother, Ukoo and Mkugenzi in broad circles, finally ending with tackling her Ukoo and giving her a good rasp with her tongue as well.
She stopped long enough to catch the green coated Genet with her tongue again to show her appreciation.
"Thank you for showing us! That was fun!" She exclaimed happily, and then turned her luminous green eyes to her Mother. "Can we do it again?"

Kikawaida chuckled lightly her pale, dusty pink eyes gazing down at the two appreciative little girls. "Maybe not today Ila, Mkugenzi's behind cna only take so much of abeating, we have to respect our smaller friends or they will become angry with us." She smiled sweetly nudging her daughter and grand daughter gently. "Come lets get back to the rest of the family, they will be wondering where we are." She whispers her voice always light as a feather.
Turning to mkugenzi she smiled at him "would you like a lift?" She whispers holding out a broad leg to him.
Mkugenzi chuckled and scaled the older lionesses leg resting confortably between her shoulder blades. "Much obliged lass, them cubs 'o' thine can't arf give a body a wallopin'" He chuckled smiling down at the two cubs.
Kikawaida smiled. "Thats because they are related to me Mkugenzi." She chuckled and nudged the two cubs back off towards the den, glad to have taught them at least a snippet of what they must learn in the future to perform for real.
