Afritti looked out over her daughters heads, her deep violet eyes pondering the sky. "Yes, I trhink it will rain soon." She puurrs softly. "Always remember my girls the rain is a most wonderful thing, it brings life to everything, you must love and appreiciate it, but if daddy comes back wet, he has to sit in the other tree til he gets dry." The dark female chuckles her gaze looking out over the undergrowth of the jungle. "Wet fur smells horrible, and your daddy has alot of it." She laughs again then, hopeing that Moses would return soon before the rain decided to cascade down upon his head.

King'Ora couldn't help but give a little girlish giggle at her momma's words, daddy was always furry, nothing would change that and he'd always be HUGE too! But the thought of momma putting him in his place was hillarious!
Not a minute too soon, the sound of heavy paws were heard at the entrance to the den and the large figure of the the cubs father appeared before entering, just as a loud thunderclap exploded from above and a sudden flash of lightning forked across the gray clouded sky. With being in a jungle, just a little rain water got through the canopy, but still enough to soak a lion and the male moved to lap over his mates forehead softly in greeting before doing the same to his daughters. "How is everyone?" He asked, the same emotionless voice but with a somewhat softer edge to it than usual.
The pink and white cub squealed as the loud roar of thunder and flash of lightning made her hide her face slightly into her mother's fur, until daddy came atleast and then smiled happily as her forehead was kissed in that special lion way. "We're fine daddy! Momma's been protecting us!"

"I want to have lots of fur like daddy," Bidu commented randomly, interrupting her little elephant/hippo mantra.
But all interest in that topic went out the window when Moses appeared. Bidu's little face lit up, just like her sister's, and, just like her sister, she jumped at the thunderclap and lightning. Even after the reassuring lick from her father, she was more reluctant to remove herself from her mother's side than King'Ora.
It was only when her sister began talking to their father that she peered from their mother's fur.
"I learned two new words today daddy," she said in an attempt to impress him. "Elephant and hippo."

Afritti smiled leaning in to that kiss. Her heart leapt in her chest, she was always happy to se Moses return to her and their cubs. She noticed the slight lilt in his voice, the sound of love in that underlying monotone voice. It made her smile secretly.
"They've been very good moses." She whispers turning to nuzzle each cub in turn. "The wheather won't hurt you girls." She puurrs, a smile and a calm look on her face. "This wheather keeps the world around you green it's something very good."
Turning her gaze on Moses she caught his red eyes a soft sigh of releif escaping her maw, though it was barely audable amongst the heavy rains that cascaded outside the den.
"As daddy nicely what he braught you to eat girls." She chuckles, she was trying to teach her cubs to be respectful to Moses, the fact that they knew their father , that he was a part of their little lives, was the greatest thing in the world for her. She didn't want them to grow up as she did. It wa sone of those few unselfish things, she knew she must do.

Moses was a very lucky male if you looked at what he had. A loving mate. Two beautiful cubs. And the strength to protect and provide for all of them.
As he moved further into the den the corners of his mouth flickered into a faint at his youngest cub, Bidu, listening into her words intently before he lapped over her tiny head once more.
"Well done, Bidu, you're learning your words very well." He said, voice the same, emotionless tone, but with that fatherly softness that some males never have.
And as he watched Afritti' he couldn't help but feel some swell of pride wash over him, she'd proven herself to be a wonderful mother if the cubs were this happy around her and it just made him feel all the more better with his current state of life.
As mother spoke, King'Ora smiled sweetly until another thunderclap make her give a cubbish mew, she didn't like it, it frightened her! But somehow Afritti's words soothed the little cub soon afterwards...she still didn't like it though.
She then smiled and did as momma said.
"What did you bring for us, daddy?"

Bidu smiled widely at her father's compliment and tried to push herself into his affections, but then jumped at the thunder-clap, clinging to her sister in a slight comical fashion.
She realised how she must have looked and slowly edged away from her sister and joined in the chiming question as if nothing had happened.
"What did you bring for us daddy?"

Afritti smiled softly, she wanted them to be brave before their fatehr but at the same time she knew the flashes of light which pitch forked from the heavens could be frightening to anyone, more so to cubs. So rather than commenting she turned to her slightly damp mate and smiled wistfully. She could be brave for them.the spattering rain and thundering sounds after all, were less important than the thought of the food which Moses had been out hunting.

The male felt a burst of pride at the sound of his little ones speaking and moved back to the entrance of the den, fast as he had been he didn't lack the common sense to bring his kill from out of the rain and dragged the still fresh bleeding carcass of a young antelope from the mouth of the den. Barely wasting any strength as he dragged it infront of his mate and his cubs.
"This should feed us all for the night." He said softly and moved with the slithering grace of a snake behind his mate in a few large steps, before laying behind her. Blood red eyes watching over both Bidu and King'Ora to see their reactions to the food.
King'Ora licked her chops quite happily as she moved closer and took a small soft bloody chunk out of the corpse, before proceeding to almost suckle at the still fresh juices of the meat.
"Thank you daddy!"

Like her sister, Bidu approached the carcass with relish. She'd happened upon a particularly tough, chewy part, and tugged and tugged at it till it came loose. Savouring every laboured effort to chew right to the bone.
"Fank-oo," she mumbled through a mouthful.

Afritti smiled at her big mate. It hadn't been that long ago, or perhaps it had, that she had called the dark maned male slave rather than lover. Now though everything was differnt. She loved him though she could never say it out loud.
Reaching forwards to carve a peice of meat from the carcass with her claws she slowly devoured the chunk of meat. She had always been a picky, petite eater, of course having cubs suckling sort of changed that, she eeded to eat more to maintain them. Looking back to Moses she slowly finished her meat and lay comfortably against himm, using his mane as a large pillow c** blanket. She gave a smile and a puurr.
"Yes thankyou." She whispers closing her violet eyes, she was ready for a sleep while the rain battered above and her belly was full.
