Rose was amazed to as were she was now. Even if it was nothing special, she seemed easily amused. It was a first day thing. With a grin, she headed to her room. Up two flights and she looked at the silver key in her hand. On it was carved the number nine. Taking a step ack, she noticed a door with the number on it. Going closer to it, she easily slid the key in and turned it all in one fluid motion.

The door swung open soundlessly on her hinges and she took note of that. Tossing her bag onto her bed she stared out the window.

Leaning her head into the palm of her hand, propping herself up by her elbow, she slapped her forehead repeatedly. How could she have forgotten everything in this book? Cursing in her mind, she argued about it, throwing swear words back and forth. In the short period of time she had made it a third of the way through the thick brown book. Closing the book, she pushed it to the edge of the desk, almost as if it carried the plague. Running her hand through her hair, she pulled it into a braid in order to keep it out of her face. "Next," she said, deciding to take a small break from the other book. Opening up the book titled 'Love and Manipulation', she smiled, flipping quickly to the tenth chapter. Amazing as to how she could remember where she was and what had happened in this book, not required for any class, and yet she couldn't remember a thing in the other one. Scratching her head, she smoothed out the page of the book with her free hand and began to read yet again.

Kiara sighed, okay, this book is interesting, she thought, but I've read it so many times, what's the point? She pulled out another book, a new one, The Modern Spellcasters Guide, she had brought it because it contained spells the likes of which she had never heard of before. Ones that seemed unbelieveably difficult. She opened it, sat down at a polished hardwood desk, and began to read. It was incredibly interesting, besides spells there were tales and myths. Smiling slightly now, she read to page 254 before she marked her place, and decided to see what else this school had to offer. Getting up, Kiara left the room and walked down the long hallway and down one of the marble staircases.

"Oh it's good to be home again." Caden squealed as she sat down at one of the cafeteria tables. She had already unpacked in her dorm and hurried down for a snack. She had wasted no time in getting here. She'd had her bags packed for days and nearly mauling the poor mailman for the letters, some days were dissapointing for the letter for school had not arrived. But today she had grabbed the mail right from the old man who delivered it and to her delight she saw the tan envelope right away. Her suitcase already in hand, she took a pen from her back pocket and tore open the envelope. She didn't even read the letter, she turned the paper over and signed her name on the back and in an instant she was no longer standing on the sidewalk outside her parent's estate but instead in the midst of a place she felt completely comfortable in. She was happy to be back here in these large marble hallways. She was slightly upset that there were already 3 students here before her, she wanted to be the first but she dealt with and in a haste she cleaned out her suitcase and filled her dresser and closet. She was of course first in the caferteria.

She was now slightly calmer the elated feeling was still stuck in her chest as she took a bite of the red delicous apple sitting in front of her. This was going to be another good year, she wondered how many people she'd see from last year, and how different the classes would be. She'd just have to wait till everyone else got settled in. Casting a glance through the glass doors she watch a bunch of confused looks pass by from the lobby and some more familiar looking people laughing by the north stairwell. She gave a wam smile and turned back to her snack.

----------------------------

Emmett's legs nearly collapsed underneath him as he glanced around, he wasn't expecting that to happen. He stopped his hand from waving good-bye to Helena and looked around. His other hand still held his suitcase he had packed, but how had that just happened. One moment he was in his room and next he was, well here, where ever here was. He thought a cab or something would come and get him, he didn't think he was going to teleport or whatever just happened to him. Glancing around he noticed few eyes even turned to him even though he had appeared out of nowhere after a few minutes of watching he realized that other kids were popping up out of nowhere as well. "This...This isn't normal." he said to himself and found a bench on which to sit as he tried to take all of this in. He figured this place must be Laurel's, what else could it have been, all around students appeared; chatting, flying, and all sorts of things. He was interested in learning more about his own abilities but this whole super-power type thing was going to take some getting use to.

Closing the book, Cross smiled, stretching her arms over her head. It was great getting lost in a book, and it seemed as if the whole day passed by, even if it was only a few minutes. Thinking back to the girl, she felt bad about brushing her off. Maybe she would be able to see her again, she hoped, standing. She took a few books from the pile, returning the rest, and checked them out. Slipping them into her bag she was taken aback, forgetting how heavy the books could be. Biting her lip in thought, she imagined the campus again, wondering where she would go next. Her eyes widened and her smile widened a bit. "The lake," she whispered, holding back a squeal of excitement. Turning the corner, her bag hit a pole and she cursed. She didn't want to carry it around to the lake. Pulling her key back out, she wore it around her index finger as she made her way to the dorms. Going up the staircase, she noticed a student sitting on the bench. "Hm, you okay?" She asked softly, walking over. Giving him a reassuring smile she crouched down, trying to see if he was alright.

Kiara walked down to the lake, her face hard, sitting under a large elm tree, she directed her fingers toward the lake and drew from the surface a shining ball of water. She gave a smile of satisfaction, then concentrated hard and bent the water into the shape of a dragon, making it ripple and dance, then a rabbit, making it hop around and bounce before letting the water fall back in the lake with a ringing splash. Then she tried again, this time the water into a doe and a buck before letting the shining water fall back into the lake.

Emmett glanced over at Cross as she spoke and gave an uneasy shrug. "I guess, I just wasn't quite ready for the sudden trip, I guess." glancing around it looked most of the people appearing out of thin air were pretty, ok with what had just happened. Turning his attention back to the girl next to the bench, "All of this is just going to take some getting use to is all." He mummbled again. glancing at Cross he guessed none of this was new to her, You do eventually get use to this place right?" he asked rather unsure.

~*~
It all seemed like a dream, somehow; one minute Skye had been perusing over a letter, and the next, she found herself standing in front of a staircase, one hand still outstretched for the can of soda she'd been reaching for. "What...the...?" she looked around, mildly bewildered with the surroundings. Elegant, clean...she thought it smelled kind of like lemon Pine-Sol...but if it looked this nice, then what were the other students - she could only assume this was the Academy - like? Looking down at her own clothes, she bit her bottom lip and gave a bit of a nervous tug on her skirt. She certainly wasn't dressed for something that seemed so high class, but what the hey, she'd try it out, at least. Who knew, maybe it wasn't as bad as that lemony fresh scent made it seem.

"I'm taking it's your first time here. Well, eventually depends on how long you want it to be," she said with a small laugh. "The more you just relax and get in touch with your magic side, the easier it becomes," she explained, trying to think back to when she was here. Unlike some of the others, she too had been hesitant about the school, so had taken the whole first year to get used to it. "So if you just try to tell yourself it's not real and that you want to go home, it takes a bit longer. But trust me, it's fun," she smiled, ruffling his hair like a child. Straightening back up she put a finger to her chin. I talk too much, she thought, giving herself a strange look. Shaking it off, she looked back at the boy, "Sorry if I ranted a bit." Scratching the back of her neck nervously, she bowed a bit, apologizing.

Emmett gave his hair a subtle sweeping motion from the back to the front, with his hand, to get it back into place as Cross spoke. "No, it's alright. I just never gave much thought that there were so many others with well ummm... powers." He said giving a pause as he chose his last word rather carefully. "But umm... now that I'm here, I'm at a loss. Where do I go to from here exactly, is there an office or something to sign-in at?"

Caden stood up from her empty table, deposited her apple core in the trash, and headed out of the cafeteria as more people started to flood in. Strolling down the hall she found herself at the base of the stairwell staring into the lobby of people. Within a few hours it'd clear out and everyone would eventually reach their dorm rooms and a good thing to because the room was starting to look a tad bit crowded, it would take forever to actually fill the entire front lobby, but compared to how spacious it always felt everyone seemed to only have about a 4ft. radius in which there was no one instead of the large spacious void there normally was. As the thought seemed to hit her out of nowhere, Caden dissappeared into the crowd and into the office across the lobby. She had almost forgotten to sign-up for helping with orientation. Since it would be her second year back she was now eligible to be a guide. She gave a small dance as she scrawled her name along the sign-up sheet, she loved being a tour-guide, that and it was a great way to meet all of the new people.

Almost laughing at his reaction, she shrugged. "I don't think any of us thought about how many people in the world were like us," she replied honestly. If she had remembered correctly, she hadn't even known that her powers were actual powers, but thought they were weird climate problems. "Well, you go to the office for orientation," she said looking around at the large amount of people. "Go there for your dorm key too," she added, pointing down the mob towards the office. "They give tours, so go if you get the chance. I'd sign up to help, but I tend to get just as lost as the new kids, no offence."

Terra blinked a few extra times, trying to adjust her eyes to the change in lighting. This year was gonna be her first full year at the academy because last year, the mailcarrier misdelivered the mail and her lazy neighbor didn't give her the letter 'till mid school year. Even though this wasn't her first time traveling to Laurel's Gifted, she still wasn't used to their means of transportation.
Luckily for Terra though, she was teleported right out side of the office. She pushed her red hair behind her ears, revealing her blood-red birth mark below her left eye, and walked into the office to obtain her key.
Once that was done she headed to her dorm to set her numerous bags in her dorrm. (her parents liked small suitcases so she has alot. If they were normal sized suitcases she'd just have two or three instead of what she had.)

After she deposited her bags in her dorm, she decided to walk around. You never know what you're gonna find in Laurel's Academy and she might as well figure out what's where now before class starts.

Nikol had zoned out. She had been standing infront of the window for a very long time. Shaking her head she let out a long sigh. Her eyes were torn away from the window as her head slowly turned to her bed. On top of it was her bag where she left it. "Might as well finish where I left off." Slowly she put everything away and yawned. Fetching her key from where she left it, she was out the door five minutes later and locking it behind her.

"Wonder what there is to do..." She walked down the hallway and turned left lost in thought. "Probably should...." Her voice trailed off. She did a three-sixty and moaned. Nikol was lost and that was not good. Running her slender fingers through her dark blue hair she stared out the window once more. She was trying to figure out where to go from here. Or if she should just wait for somebody to find her and take her to the cafeteria. There were endless possibilities.
