Between the two of them she was sure nothing would happen to the foals. "I'm glad i can give you back something for everything you've done for me"

It was more than just 'someone' that he was worried about. There were other factors in the world and he wasn't sure what he would do if she was taken from him... Or if the little joys that she carried were as well. He needed to know that she would be safe; that his heart would be safe. "You don't need to give me anything more than you already have, Kochu..."

"I want to give more to you." She slightly knew what he'd been though, at least she could understand the feelings, so she wanted to do everything she could to make sure it never happened again.

"You've already given me more than enough." He nodded slowly, closing his eyes as he nuzzled her. "You've given me so much..." Kochu'akai had filled the holes that the others in his life hadn't been able to. They had given him a new life and brought joy to it... And she had reminded him of everything else that he had forgotten.

"Yes well you're just going to have to get used to accepting more." She nipped his neck playfully as she spoke. He had been like a light in the dark she generally traveled though and nothing she could do could ever repay him for that.

"Doubtful. I'm just as stubborn as you are" She flicked her wings lightly before tucking them against her. "No ... i'm a little tired but that's nothing to worry about"

"... Just as stubborn, you say?" His brow lofted slightly as he nipped lightly at her neck before turning to look at her. "I'll worry anyways... I may have experience at being a fatherly figure... But I've never been there throughout the pregnancy as a father before. I'm going to fret and worry and insist on pampering..."

Time seemed to slow after that moment. The days passed and, with each one, he began to wonder just when everything would happen... When his foals, however many there were, would come into the world and when he should be prepared to worry more about Kochu'akai's safety. She seemed so small... And the little ones growing within her were getting larger. He knew that there could be complications because of pregnancies but he continued to pray to the spirits that she would have none hoping that, this time, they would listen to him.
He peeked into the cavern where he had left her with a comfortable 'nest' of sorts, a soft smile curving his lips as he leaned down to give her a gentle nuzzle. "... Is everything alright? Is there anything I can get for you? Anything at all?"

She had been staying in the 'nest' more often than not lately. She was far smaller than him and the weight of the little ones who were going to be much bigger than her own breed was taking a toll on her. Leaning up she nuzzled him back gently. "No i'm ...." She winced slightly as one of the foals kicked her. That compounded on the knowledge that it would be any moment now was making things rather painful. "I'm glad you are back .... i know you wouldn't want to not be here"

"... No you're not alright or no there's nothing I can do for you?" His brow furrowed as he brushed his nose against hers. "They'll be here soon." He had heard the crow again which was why he had rushed back, worried that it had only been one. Then he had heard the second... The others had not yet come but they would. Crow always welcomed the little ones into the world, letting them know that they would meet again.

"I'm fine ... it is just painful ... which i expected." She rested her nose against his as she tried to let her body relax rather than fight the pain.
She could hear the crows outside and wondered if they knew more than she did about the little ones that would be arriving.

"Should I try to find Memory? Do you..." He swallowed hard, letting his eyes close for a moment. "... Do you think you will need a healer?" So cautious, so worried... He didn't want to risk loosing either his salvation or their little ones.

"No no ... i'll be fine." She wasn't in that much danger. She was sure her body wouldn't have done anything to itself that it couldn't handle. After all the little ones would have her blood so it wasn't as if she'd give birth to foals that much bigger than ones of her breed.
