Japi's Report & Contemplation -- 3 Months Pregnant

My tummy isn't getting that big yet, but it's only three months in. It's just taking too long! I mean, it doesn't take any less time when I let other people do this for me, but it's different when you look at yourself in the mirror every day.

As for the kids, Tanya's doing well. She's behaving herself. She hasn't gone berserk since she started on that suppression medication. I don't think it's only that though, the girl has a lot of willpower.

Ariel is doing well with Damion. I know I didn't approve at first, but they really make a cute couple. The princess has no idea where they are though. I'm sure she's getting worried, but I'll just let it work out on it's own, like always.

My Ten-Ten just got into her ninja academy. I'm so proud of her--well... them. Tendou is the one who did the written exam of course, but she couldn't have passed the physical exam without Tenma's help. They really make a great team, even if they fight sometimes.

Whisper is climbing up the ranks. If she wasn't humanoid, she'd be leader of the pack by next spring. I'm so proud.

QT's second litter of kits is about to be born. The quads are all abuzz about it. Tiger really wants some new brothers. He always says Fang isn't tough enough to play rough the way he likes to. Carmel and Brownie are excited either way. And Fang is busy pretending he doesn't care.

I'm so excited. I've been talking to QT a lot about kids, and I'm just so excited. I wish it'd happen sooner.

To tell you the truth, I think Lith is excited too. He doesn't want to show it, but I can see it when he looks at me, and I can feel it when he hugs me. He's already gone on a cleaning spree in my room. He says all the dust that's in there is probably bad for the baby.

Oh, and he's been making me breakfast every day since we went to see Dr. Ronchas. He's been making all kinds of food. This morning it was a mushroom and ham omelet. It didn't have cheese in it, but the texture of the mushrooms made up for it quite well. He's such a sweetheart.

Tomorrow, I'm going to go to the clinic again. Lithanus will be at work, but I can go just as well by myself. I may need help later as my tummy grows, but for now I'm fine alone. Lith was a little worried about me, but I told him not to fret. He really is such a dear. I love him so much.

The babies are doing well. I can't see them, but I know, somehow. Their hearts are already beating, and I can almost feel it. They don't move around yet though. I wonder what it'll feel like when they do.

I've been considering checking their DNA. Lith doesn't know I can right now... but I don't want him to tell me not to. I know he would. I want to decide on my own. I just wanna know if they'll be boys or girls or one of each. That's all. I would just look at that one chromosome. I won't look at any of the individual genes... but I know I shouldn't, because I'll be tempted to. I haven't decided yet, but I wont do anything til after tomorrow.

Lith makes dinner... -- 7 Months Pregnant

Japi rubbed her tummy. It was getting quite large and it was beginning to be difficult to get around as well as she had before. She was still physically active, but the extra weight made her get tired more easily. But she was happy.

She heard Lith in the kitchen, cooking dinner. She sniffed the air. "Mmmm garlic." She followed the scent and discovered Lithanus stirring a small bowl of butter. He smiled at her.

"Hi there, hon." she said sleepily.

"Hello," he said and returned her smile. "How are you doing? Did you enjoy your nap?"

"Mmmhmm," Japi replied stretching. "What's for dinner?"

"Spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread," Lith replied, pointing at a lidded pot on the stove. He pulled a loaf of bread out of the oven and brushed the butter on the top. "The bread is different this time, so I hope it's still good."

Japi giggled.

"What?" Lith asked.

"I love you," she said. "You're doing so much for me." She wanted to add, You really don't have to.

"Of course I am," he said, putting the bread back in the oven. "You're the love of my life and the mother of my children." With this, he wrapped his arms around her and rubbed her growing stomach.

Japi blushed and stammered. She didn't really know how to reply to that. But she didn't really have much time to fret over it. From inside her she felt an appendage press against her stomach where Lith's hand was. (Hand or foot, she couldn't tell.)

"Ah!" Lithanus exclaimed. "I felt that!" His expression was of pure joy and excitement.

Japi giggled again. "I've been feeling that for a while now," she said. "They're moving around a lot."

Lithanus hugged her tightly. "I love you so much."

"I love you," Japi replied, smiling.

Japi was glad she didn't use her abilities to see what her twins' genders were. As she stood there with Lithanus, she realized, it really didn't make a difference. They would love them the same either way, and that was all that mattered.

Moments away... -- 9 Months Pregnant

Japi was sitting, just looking out the window at the birds flying around. Midpoint would be a wonderful place to raise two children. They would never be in need of anything. They would have perfect lives.

Japi hummed softly as she rubbed her belly. "It could be any day now," she remarked to herself contentedly. "Any day now."

A perfect little family. Her twins would be the first normal children she'd ever have, and she'd be the one to give birth to them. Her heart warmed at the thought. My own two little angels. She patted her belly softly. I can't wait for them to meet all their brothers and sisters. I guess I'll have to take it slowly, since too many new faces can confuse a child.

Suddenly, feeling a little uncomfortable, she stood up. She did a bit of a double take at the place she was sitting. Her chair was wet. She stared at it a moment before the realization came to her. "L-Lith," she stammered with a mix of worry and excitement. "I-I think my water just broke!"

Bathtime and Birthmarks

Lilly looked up at her Mommy and giggled. Japi was acting like, well, a crazy person. The woman leaned over her and her sister and was pulling at the side of her mouth, making the strangest noises. Lilly thought it was hilarious.

The three girls were sitting on a blanket on the floor. They had all recently eaten dinner, and Lith had volunteered to do the dishes and clean up the high chairs. Japi had decided to play with them a while before bath time. She would need help with it anyways. One was a handful, but two?

The twins couldn't crawl yet, but they could roll around well enough. Addy was the explorative one though. Lilly always wanted to stay close to Mommy. It didn't mean she couldn't get into things within that range though.

Addy looked over at her twin, who was giggling just like their mother wanted. Trying to ignore it, she stuck her foot in the air and grabbed at it with her hand. She had better things to do that laugh at Momma being weird. She had to explore her foot.

Japi didn't let that go. She leaned in closer to her little stubborn baby and made another face.

She was close. Addy could feel her mother's breath on her face. It smelled like something sweet.

Addy reached up and grabbed at her mommy's mouth. She stuck her fingers inside the corner and pulled, just like her mother had. This was more like it. Addy laughed as Japi made a little "Ah!" sound.

Lilly laughed harder as she watched the two. Mommy and Addy were so silly.

"What are you doing?" Lithanus asked playfully as he walked up behind Japi. At hearing her father's voice, Addy let go of her mother's mouth and let out a triumphant giggle.

"Playing," Japi replied grinning as she looked up at her lover. Both girls were still laughing.

Lithanus looked at his family and smiled warmly. "I love you three," he said with a contented sigh and sat down next to Japi.

Addy, who was closest to her Daddy, rolled over toward him, still giggling a little.

Lithanus picked her up and touched his finger to her nose. "Are you being silly?" he asked her. She let out a laugh that he knew meant "yes".

Japi picked up Lilly, who was looking a little left out, and held her tightly. "We made some pretty babies," she said to Lith.

Lithanus smiled. "We sure did," he said and leaned over to kiss Japi on the cheek.

They both paused for a moment. Lithanus sniffed the air a bit. "Uh oh," he said. "Which one of you was it?" he asked the girls. Both giggled.

"Looks like it's time for your bath then," Japi said laughing. She stood up with Lilly still in her arms and went to the bathroom where they had set up a changing table on the counter. Lith wasn't far behind her.

Japi undid Lilly's diaper and sure enough, there was a bit of a mess inside. Lilly let out a loud squeal and a laugh when she saw her Mommy's face all scrunched up from the smell.

Lithanus got lucky, and Addy's diaper wasn't as bad.

After the girls were cleaned up, Japi went over to start the tub. She pulled out the bath seats from the cabinet and tested the water five or six times before she was satisfied.

Lithanus watched the twins while Japi made her preparations.

"Japi, love?" he said when she came back to pick up a twin and put her in the tub. "Did you notice these before?" He pointed to birthmarks on opposite arms on the twins. His old worry about that strange doctor started to creep back in.

"Sure did," she replied unconcerned. "It's not unusual for babies to have funny birthmarks, is it?" She must have heard the worry in his voice.

"No, I guess not," Lithanus said, then picked up Addy, or was it Lilly now? Without their color-coordinated clothes, it was harder to tell. "I guess it will make it easier to tell them apart," he remarked.

Japi set one twin down on one of the seats in the water. She decided the water level was good and turned off the faucet. Lithanus set the other twin down next to her. "I guess so," she said. "It's not that difficult to tell them apart, she said."

"Really?" Lithanus was a little astonished, and a little embarrassed. "How do you tell them apart without their clothes?"

"They've just got a different feel to them," Japi remarked. "A different aura, I guess you could say." Japi began pouring little handfuls of water on the twins. "That's why I dressed them with the colors I did. Addy just 'feels' purple, and Lilly just 'feels' green."

"Oh." Lithanus didn't quite understand, but he knew his lover had different senses from most people. "I'm glad you can tell the difference," he said, still a bit of embarrassment in his voice. "I'll probably have to stick to the birthmarks, at least until their a bit older."

Japi smiled. She knew that Lith wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two, but now it was confirmed. "Well," she said, pointing to one twin's birthmark. "Addy here has the birthmark on her left arm," she then pointed to the other twin's birthmark. "And Lilly has it on her right arm."

Lithanus committed that to memory. He was relatively good at remembering that kind of thing. He just had to remember that the 'L's of Liliana and left didn't go together. That should be easy enough.

Lilly giggled at the water. She felt like a plant getting watered by her Mommy. She liked that.

Addy moved her feet to swish the water around and tapped the side of her seat rhythmically. She enjoyed the sound it all made together. It distracted her from the actual washing, at least until a bit of water got into her eyes. She shook her head back and forth.

"Sorry, sweetheart," Japi apologized as she wiped the water away. "I'll be careful."

Suddenly the water splashed up, as though a rock had been thrown in, and caught Japi in the face. Japi quickly wiped it away. "Wh-what was that?"

Lithanus laughed.

"Lith!" Japi scolded. "You splashed me?"

"It wasn't me," he said, still laughing though. "I'm sure one of the girls just kicked up some water."

"But I was watching them," she pouted. "I think I would have noticed that powerful of a movement."

Lithanus laughed again and patted Japi on the head. "Here," he said. "I'll help." He knelt down beside her and proceeded to shampoo Addy's hair.

Addy giggled triumphantly. She'd gotten away with it again. It wasn't the first time she'd played a trick like that on her mother. She couldn't scold either of them, because she didn't know which one had done it.

Lilly looked over at her sister. She knew what was going on, and tried to get Addy to see her disappointed expression--which was more like a pouty face at her age.

"What the matter sweety?" Japi asked, having noticed Lilly's face. "You always liked baths."

Realizing she was worrying her mother, she turned back and put on the best happy face she could. "Mommy!" she said.

Japi's eyes opened wide. "Lith! Did you hear that?" Japi said ecstatically. "She said 'Mommy'!" Japi took Lilly's hand and squeezed it gently. "Yes, sweetheart," she pointed to herself. "Mommy."

Addy looked over at her sister skeptically. She knew she'd been saving that up for a long time, but she wouldn't let her sister outdo her. "Daddy," she said.

Japi squealed again, excited for Lith.

Lithanus swelled with pride as well. It was wonderful to hear his daughter call out to him. He did a quick check to make sure which twin it was. "Addy called me Daddy," he said, his smile stretching to his ears.

Now that both of her parents were excited about being called by name, they had forgotten about being splashed. Lilly was happy.

Addy knew that, unofficially, she and her twin had just picked their favorite parent.

Japi's Report & Relief

The girls said their first words! Lilly said "Mommy" and Addy said "Daddy"! I'm so proud of them both! When Lith and I were giving them their baths, they said it. Lilly first, and almost immediately afterwards, Addy said it too. I think Lith is really happy too, but he won't actually say it.

The days are getting longer lately, because of my new baby twins, but it's so worth it!

Addy and Lilly are little angels. The only thing that I could see as a bit of a problem, is Addy's obsession with hitting things. Luckily she hasn't hit her sister yet, or anything else that can feel it. She especially likes hitting hollow things... and other stuff that makes a loud noise. I'm guessing it's that sound she likes. Though I'm not sure why.

Lilly likes looking out the window with me in the morning, and I've been taking her outside a lot. She really loves it in the garden. I've been sure to name all the flowers when she looks at them, that way she'll learn them all. She's grown really attached to a blue blanket I bought for them both and claimed it as her own. Addy doesn't seem to care though.

I'm really glad the girls don't seem to have the same abilities I do. It would really cause a lot of problems. I have no idea what I was like as a child... or even if I ever was a child (at least in the same way as them) to tell the truth. I can really understand why it's not through the same kind of procreation that I exist. But it all turned out for the best in the end.

I certainly can't have them going around creating random things, especially random living things. What a disaster that would be!

The babies themselves are really healthy, and we've been keeping them on a great diet. I can't breastfeed them, but I researched the perfect formula for their bottle milk, so they're getting all the nutrients they need and we're slowly moving them over to solid foods with plenty of vitamins.

Also, before their bath today, Lith discovered the twins' birthmarks. He's not very observant, really, but it's all right. I'm not mad or anything. But at least now he has a way to tell them apart. I'm sure he won't have to check for the birthmarks soon enough though. We'll just have to wait and see.

Even though I've been so busy, I still feel it's important to keep up with all of my other children too. So, here's the report:

Well, I convinced Tanya to make a donation to the wonderful people over at the clinic. I thought her genes would make for a wonderful child, and wasting her intelligence by not passing it along would be awful. She didn't like Dr. Ronchas, but I'm sure that's just because of her adopted father, since he was a doctor and all. I brought her along on one of the visits during my pregnancy and she finally went back a week ago (after lots of pestering, of course).

Ariel is having a bit of a tough time recently, now that she's been found again by her family. They haven't shut her lover in a dungeon yet, but they're still keeping a very close eye on his every move. I'm sure it'll all turn out.

QT's second litter is doing well, their names are: Butter, Rex, Sandy, Button and Snowball. The first two are boys and the last three are girls. Her first litter is taking it all very well.

I got a short report from Cat, Whisper and Dagger. It seems they're currently working together, but I don't actually know much more than that. They're not getting themselves into too much trouble, or so they said... I'm not sure I believe them.

But it looks like I'll have to cut this short, wait, short? What do I mean short?! But Lith is begging me to turn the light off... so I'm off to bed.

What's this you can do?

Japi sighed as she looked out the window, Lilly sitting on her lap. The girls were wonderful, but certainly tiring. Addy was sitting on the little rug in the kitchen, banging her rattle against the hard floor on the side. At least the noise wasn't too loud.

Lilly was content to look out the window at the flowers. She would have liked to go outside and actually sit in the middle, in the garden, but her Mommy had said it was too cold today.

She stretched her body up so she could see the flower that was lower in the window than the rest, but she still couldn't pull the whole thing into view. It was all droopy and sad looking, which made Lilly's lower lip puff out into a frown.

She thought hard about that little flower, and slowly it began to move.

Japi sat up with a start. One of the flowers she'd been looking at was moving. The wind? No. It couldn't possibly have been the wind, because the other flowers would be moving too. She looked closer at the little thing, and it almost looked as though... "It's growing?"

The flower was now in view and looking so much better than before, so Lilly stopped making the flower grow. She looked up at her mother and giggled. "Pwetty," she said.

Japi looked at her daughter. The moment the flower stopped growing, Lilly had said 'pretty'. That could not have just been a coincidence.

"Did you do that, Lilly?" Japi asked her daughter pointing at the flower.

Lilly looked at her mother, a little confused, wondering if she was in trouble. Her eyes showed it.

Japi realized the worry and made a bright face, showing that it was not a bad thing. "Did you make the little flower grow?"

Lilly looked at the flower again, then back at her mother and nodded slowly, still a little afraid.

Japi got too excited all at once. She swept up Lilly in her arms and hugged her tightly, then set her down on the rug across from her sister and ran to get Lith.

Addy looked at her sister skeptically. She knows now?

Lilly nodded as she felt her sister's thoughts in her head. Sorry, she thought back.

It's okay. She has to know eventually. Addy's only worry was that now that their Mommy knew about Lilly's power, she'd figure out her power too, and Addy couldn't play jokes anymore.

Lithanus came back with Japi and looked at the girls, then out the window, the back at the girls.

"Are you sure?

"Of course I'm sure," she said. "Right Lilly?"

Lilly wasn't sure exactly how she was expected to answer, so she just nodded.

Addy frowned. She wasn't happy about Lilly getting all the attention, so she set her rattle down on the floor and scooted back from it. She had to make sure they could tell she hadn't just thrown it with her hand.

"Mommy!" she said, just to get the attention focused on her.

"Huh?" Japi looked at Addy, who was looking at her rattle on the floor. "You want your rattle?" she went to pick it up for her, when the thing jumped. It scared Japi. "Ohmygod!" she gasped.

Lithanus watched the scene carefully, taking it in. He wasn't about to get as excited as Japi about the whole situation.

"What are we going to do about this?" he asked, but Japi probably didn't hear him.

It was evident that the children had powers, even if it wasn't like Japi's powers, it was still something to worry about. It made Lithanus slightly nervous.

Japi is a bit angry...

Tomorrow is the girls' checkup with the doctor. I wonder if I should mention their powers... I'm almost wondering if I should have even told Lith about them, but then again, he would have figured it out eventually and then been mad at me for not telling him. And how could I have known how he'd react.

I had a talk with him last night about them, and we're not really in agreement about how we should go about it. Maybe if I write it down, it'll help me decide what to do.

Lith says we need to discourage the use of powers, at least in Addy's case. If she can move stuff with her mind, she might just become lazy. He's right, we don't want that, but I don't want to tell just her she can use her powers, and it would be silly to stop Lilly from using hers. In fact, we could really use her powers around the house. She could help me grow better organic food, so that we'd have an even better diet. But how would Addy feel? I don't want to leave her out. And on top of that, I don't really want to stop her from using her powers, because I understand how that can feel. If I were told that I shouldn't always be creating stuff for convenience, I would definitely ask, "Why not?" Lith has never asked me to stop making things before... so why should he expect Addy to not use her powers? Plus if she never uses them, then they'll never get stronger! They may even get weaker If you don't exercise your body and even your mind, it eventually gets weak, so why not the same with powers?

I'll admit I'm a little mad at him for it, but I haven't told him that I am. We're going together to the clinic tomorrow, so when I tell the doctor about their powers, we'll just see what he says. I'm sure he'll side with me.

Well... that didn't really help me decide what to do at all. Maybe tomorrow we'll be able to figure something out.

I'm not in the mood to report on the others tonight, so I'm gonna leave it out for now. Sorry everyone... I promise I won't forget about you!

"Mommy, I can't sleep."

Lithanus held Japi tightly as they sat in the big chair in the living room. The girls were already in bed, hopefully asleep. They had already been tucked in and read a bedtime story. This past one had been about another "magical girl" and her prince, so Lithanus had been bored with it, but the girls liked it well enough, so he didn't mind.

Japi was pretty close to falling asleep herself. She was worn out. Lithanus stroked the hair out of her face, and she looked up at him and smiled wearily, but contently.

"I love you," he said, leaning down and kissing her on the forehead.

"I love you, too, Lith," Japi replied, squirming a little. It was impossible to snuggle closer to him, but she tried anyways.

"Japi, love," Lithanus started. "I've been doing some thinking..."

Japi listened intently, sitting up a bit, so she could pay better attention.

"Midpoint is a wonderful place," Lithanus said. He had to put this the right way.

Japi looked at him with a confused expression. She nodded. "Mmmhmm?"

"But there just aren't any other children here." Lithanus said slowly.

Japi stayed silent a moment and Lithanus wasn't sure if he should continue or not, but then she nodded.

"I was thinking we might move back to my home, to Gaia." Lithanus paused again. "Just consider it a while. It's not a decision that should come lightly. We--"

"Mommy!"

The interruption came from the girls' room.

Japi stood up slowly, moaning a bit, but she turned back to Lith and smiled. "I'll think about it."

Lithanus got up too and walked with her to the girls' room. He couldn't let her do it all herself.

"What's the matter, Addy, sweetheart?" Japi cooed as she walked into the room. She could tell it was her, because of the way she had called out.

Lithanus was surprised that Japi could tell the difference. He was still learning to tell them apart by appearance. When they didn't wear their specific colors, it was really hard to distinguish.

He hung back right outside the door, out of the glow of the night light.

"I want," Addy started, and then paused. "A glass of water!" she finished finally.

Japi looked at her daughter sceptically. It was evident she was just trying to get attention, but there wasn't much she could do. She heard Lith walk off to retrieve the water and at the same time, Lilly stirred.

The light wasn't that good, but she could tell that Lilly was awake.

"You awake, Lilly?" Japi asked somewhat quietly, so that she would not wake Lilly, if she were in fact asleep.

"Mmmhmm," Lilly whimpered. "I told her not to call," she stammered. "I was just--" she let out another whimper.

"She was scared Mommy," Addy said boldly.

"I told her not to call," Lilly repeated. "I'm sorry Mommy."

Japi knelt down beside Lilly's little bed. "It's okay to call Mommy when you're scared," she assured her.

By that time, Lithanus was coming back with the water.

"Lith," Japi started to ask.

"Do you want to spend the night in here with the girls?" he asked her. He had already heard the conversation from the hallway, and knew what she was going to ask. "I don't mind. I'll go get the futon."

"All right!" Addy exclaimed excitedly. "It's gonna be a party!"

"I don't think so," Japi laughed. "We're going to sleep."

"Aww man!"

Lilly giggled.

Japi smiled.

Lithanus came back with the futon moments later, untied it and layed it down on the floor.

Japi grabbed an extra sheet and pillow out of the girls' closet and layed it down on the futon. She gave the girls each a quick kiss and layed down.

"Now you two go to bed too," Lithanus instructed, before giving Lilly a kiss on her forehead.

Lilly layed down obediently. "Good night Daddy. Good night Mommy."

"Good night both of you," Japi replied.

Addy was a little more stubborn, but complied when her Daddy gave her a kiss on the forehead too. "Good night," she said with mock disappointment.

Lithanus layed down next to Japi and kissed her as well.

Japi fell asleep moments later, and the rest of her family was not far behind.

Final Decision

"Lith?" Japi tugged on her lover's yukata gently. He was reading, but not too intently.

"Yes, love?" he turned around slightly in his chair and looked at her.

"I was thinking, you may be right." She started. "I want to move to Gaia."

"It's a big decision," Lithanus started. "But if you're sure. I really think it would be best for the girls. And if you found a group of homeschooling teachers,"

"Actually," she started and produced the flier the nurse at the clinic had given her. "I was thinking we could enroll them here." She handed it to him and waited for his reply.

Lithanus looked the flier over carefully for a few minutes and then back to Japi. "Have you done any research into it?"

"It's a really good school, and it's not that expensive, and they even have scholarships. I'm sure I could get some kind of job in Gaia to pay for it anyways. It requires a recommendation, but Doctor Ronchas has already provided that for us. It runs K-12, so they'll be there until they graduate, unless we take them out for some reason." Japi paused for a breath, but Lith stopped her from continuing.

"It sounds like a wonderful idea," he laughed, touching her shoulder. It was obvious that she was excited about the school, and he wasn't against moving back home in the slightest.

Japi sighed heavily. She was relieved. "I'm glad you're okay with me not homeschooling them," she said.

"Of course," Lithanus replied, still laughing a little. "It wouldn't be right of me to insist you be their teacher, when you'd be the one doing all the work."

Japi smiled. "That's true."

"So we'll get started looking for a house tomorrow then," Lithanus suggested.

Japi nodded.

Japi's Job & Kids Update

Hooray! I just got a job at a nice little cafe down the street from the house. I can even walk to work, which is good, since we only have one vehicle. Lithanus of course, was invited back to the town guard. Leon was glad to have him back. Barton ended up being a great place to live. I really liked that little house in Durem, the one near my old apartment, but it just didn't work out that way.

Aside from that, I've enrolled the girls in the school suggested by the clinic. They seem to be doing well enough so far, but they haven't been going for that long. We'll see as time progresses. They started out in first grade, since I home-schooled them for a year in Midpoint. I really think they'll be much better off here, playing with kids just like them. Dr. Ronchas assured me personally that there were several other kids from the clinic attending that school. It should give them a chance to make some good friends and maybe meet some they've already met before.

As for their year of homeschooling, I hope they're not behind at all. They can count already, and I taught them how to add little numbers. Lilly's got a pretty good handle on reading simple words and plant names, but Addy's a little bit stubborn when it comes to schoolwork. I can tell she's smart, but I could swear she's getting Lilly to answer questions for her.

On that note, I've been teaching the girls to use their powers relatively sparingly lately. Lith is okay with me training them in some capacity, but he really doesn't want me to focus on it. He says it would be better to encourage them to grow up without depending on their powers, and train their powers separately. He might be right, but I still think they need to use their powers more often than they do right now. But I'll leave that up to them.

Speaking of powers, we're also working on the gifts for the girls' birthday. You see, Lilly's been really interested in growing plants without her powers, so Lith is going to section off a part of the garden for her and I'll be going out and looking at drums for Addy. I kinda feel bad that one present will probably end up costing a lot more than the other, but I'm sure we can find something that might spruce up Lilly's section of garden that would cost a bit at least.

Updates on the others, I don't really have any. Their lives seem to be going relatively well, even without any interference from me. I guess all those babies are growing up. It's not like they ever really left the nest, as most of them have never even been to Midpoint in the first place, but it's still a little sad to realize they don't really need me anymore. Even QT has grown up a lot since her second litter.

Now, I wanted to save the best news for last. I've got another kid! XD It's true. I recently received a playbill in the mail for the local theater and decided to go take a look. To my surprise, there was a little version of the Phantom of the Opera waiting for me inside the magic of a book. There are a lot of things I'd like to learn about that magic, but it'll have to wait for another journal entry. This one is beginning to get a little long as it is. (Not to mention Lith is ready for bed.)

Well, off to bed now. <3

Sticks and stones more sticks? pt. 1

I really like the drum Mom gave me for my B-day! It's even got my name on the base! She doesn't let me play it all the time though and when she does she makes me put this little pad on it. It doesn't sound as good that way. But it's better than nothing. I wanna ask Dad if I can sound proof my room. I saw a way to do it on this one website and it's not that hard.

It'll be great for later, when I get more drums. What I really want is a full drum set. The snare's great and I'm really learning it but it's not like all those bands on TV. Nobody but school band has a snare drum. Gotta start somewhere though.

Lilly got part of the garden for herself. She's really happy and not using her powers on it too much. She's just letting them grow naturally. But Dad says her garden still reacts to her abilities even when she doesn't try and use them. Her garden's a lot prettier than his. But he's not jealous. He says he's just proud.

Sticks and stones more sticks? pt. 2

The garden is so peaceful. I love to sit there and read my books or draw. It feels like the flowers talk to me sometimes, even though I know flowers can't really talk. But I like to listen anyways, to the wind and the birds.

I saw a hummingbird yesterday. Daddy said it was a Green Violetear. I thought that was funny cause it's both got both mind and Addy's favorite colors in the name. I wanted to draw a picture of it, but it flew away too fast. I tried anyways, but I couldn't remember what it looked like all the way. It was just there one second and then gone. It was pretty though. Maybe I'll see it again sometime.

Addy is happy with her present because it makes noise. Mom doesn't know, but she plays it when she's not home without the dampener. It doesn't bother me though, because she's actually pretty good at it. I drew a picture of her while she wasn't looking.

Japi's Dilemma: Twins' Powers

I'm a little concerned lately. Addy is having trouble controlling her powers. She's having headaches and she's miserable almost constantly. I've tried several sources of information on Psychic powers, but there are few experts in Gaia and I can't be hauling her off to other dimensions constantly. She's not me, she can't physically handle that kind of thing, even if she is my child.

Lilly could use some help too. Even her powers overflow from her, without her knowledge, though it's a lot less destructive. She just has to pull weeds more often than a normal gardener, though she'd never know it.

I should probably get a hold of Sekenre, if I can. He'd know what to do, and if anything he can train Addy himself. Maybe he can contact Krillo for me to give Lilly a hand.

Lith has gotten used to having children with powers and has really gotten into teaching Lilly gardening techniques that won't use her powers and he's managed to get Addy to stop actively looking into our minds and causing poltergeist havoc. At this point, we know it's her anyway, and she doesn't want to get in trouble anymore.

School seems to be going well for them, even with the strange accident that happened there. The nurse informed me that there are a lot of children with special abilities at that school and that she would keep an eye on Addy for her headaches. Poor girl gets debilitated when there's a panic. All the more reason to get her some help now.

Sound proofed and ready for mischief.

Dad finally let me soundproof my room! Well, actually he's doing most of it. He looked up on the internet how to do it and he's having me help a little. He's also promised me a full drum set once it's finished. But he said I have to work for it. Do extra chores and stuff. That's cool. I just can't wait for my set.

Uncle Sekenre's back and forth. This stay's here, but he's alright. He's teaching me a lot of stuff, like how to block other psions out of my mind, not to mention I can keep other people's thoughts out when I don't want to hear them. I've almost got the hang of listening to one person's thoughts at a time in a large crowd.

Uncle Sekenre even taught Mom and Dad to block their thoughts from me. I guess it's cool. I won't be able to get away with all the stuff I did when I was little, but I guess that's okay. I can't blame them for it.

I asked Mom if I could dye my hair. She said when I turn 16 and she'll get Aunt Usadari to do it. She doesn't want to pay some professional a ton of money when Aunt Dari can do it just as good. But I'm supposed to ask her myself when I'm gonna turn 16. I haven't told Mom I want it purple yet. I don't think Dad knows at all.

Lilly's learning lots from Uncle Krillo, but I don't understand most of it. Krillo says she has a "surplus of life energy" whatever that means. He says that's why she can give life to plants. Though he doesn't know why it's only plants and she can't do it for people or animals. I think she's just too much like them. She sits still for hours, just like her plants. I can't do that. I gotta keep moving. Even writing this, I've taken four breaks to walk around my room. XP

My garden, my art, my cooking.

Uncle Krillo has been helping me with my garden a lot, even though I do most of the working. I still keep about half of the plants free of my direct influence, but Daddy and Uncle Krillo both agree that I can't keep from effecting them just by being near them. Krillo says my powers run off a surplus of life energy. I don't know if that makes sense. I don't have a lot of physical energy most of the time. I get tired easily and I can't keep up with my sister at all. But I don't think Uncle Krillo is wrong either.

I asked for a pond so I could grow Water Lilies. Daddy said he'd look into it. He said we don't want stagnant water for mosquitoes. I don't want that either. I couldn't sit with my flowers that way.

I've started drawing a lot, mostly my plants. I think I'm getting better at it too. I especially like watercolors. They let you do a lot of light colors easy and it just takes a little work for darker stuff. Daddy says I'm a real prodigy. I don't think so. I just like art.

Uncle Krillo's been teaching both me and Addy to cook, though I don't think she pays attention much. I can make spaghetti, chicken mole (Which has chocolate in it!), and I'm pretty good at making cookies from scratch too. He promised to teach me how to make bread next week.

Addy's really excited because she and Daddy are soundproofing her room. That way she'll be able to make all the noise she wants. I'm really glad we're not sharing a room like we were before we came to Gaia. Mommy says we came here for lots of reasons and that's just one of them.

Yesterday, Addy asked Mommy if she could dye her hair. She's been wanting to ask for a while, but she waited until she knew Mommy was in a good mood. Addy always does things like that. She uses her power more than she should.
