With a quick flush of color to his blue cheeks the male quickly turned back his attention the words he had chosen. But the alpha's quickest decision was to shrug off the words, "I'm not claiming anything more then once." His head tilted up as if to signify that no more of that topic would come out of his mouth, but the corners just turned upwards in a quick 'you-got-me' smile.
The blue eyes watched the playful crouch and the friendly wagging of the pink tail. But just like his own actions that movement fell back some at his last words, and Crunch releveled his head. Serious tone again, Crunch locked his eyes onto Alas', "Not without major efforts and precautions."

Alas laughed softly as she saw the slight flush and edged playfully closer. When Crunch locked his eyes on her though she stiffened her tail ceased its swaying. As quickly as she had that start of a smile she had lost it once more.
It shouldn't have aggitated her so, but it did. She sat quietly and watched the dark blue male in silence before slowly giving voice to her thoughts.
"You never smile..." she stated softly, "you almost did, but...it's like you own't let yourself." She edged a bit closer drawn more by curiosity and determination now.
She tried to reason with herself that she wanted Crunch happy so Gracia wouldn't worry over him, but she knew in her heart she wanted to see the dark blue male smile for her too.

Crunch saw a small shift of frustration into the petite pink female's frame. His head quirked a bit at the unexpected words that flowed out of her maw just ever so softly and still uncertain about her sudden shift. Maybe he just wasn't use to speaking to others about personal stuff for so long, after all Crunch was more the doer then the talker.
Crunch chewed over the answer, but since he couldn't come up with any one good reason. Well that was besides he didn't really ever smile. The blue shoulders rolled in a half shrug. "I guess I just won't let myself smile for more then a couple seconds," this was the truth....or at least apart of it.

Alas tilted her head and gazed at Crunch quietly for a long moment before looking down. Her tail moved slowly to cover her paws before she slowly lifted her gaze to meet the dark males once more.
"You really should, smile I mean, more often...it seems to help loosen you up." She hesitated and watched his expression before looking down shyly.
"It makes you look rather charming..." She shrugged and let her tail waver over her paws with a twitch, as if she were prepared to dash off.

Doing the only thing the male could think to do was blink. Looking at Alas and the words she just said sent an odd feeling through his whole frame. Whenever Snickers or Gracia told her to loosen up or in their term, "Lighten up some Crunch!" It angered the male and he would growl threateningly at them until they darted out of his sight.
But not in Alas's case, the male was getting so confused with himself, he wanted to actually let himself smile for her. He closed his eyes and had to think, Why? Why was it so trivial to make Alas happy for me?
The male's red lightning lids slid back and he looked at the soft pink femme. She was beautiful and ....wait did he just think that? As his mind went racing Crunch looked at Libenalas again as she shrugged after her proclamation. Smiling makes me look charming? Who would have thought such a thing?
The blue alpha just stared at the healer. Could he left his mouth actually work? Trying to move his tongue about inside his closed jaws Crunch mentally laughed at himself. And to think boy, you believe yourself dominate of your siblings. Ha! You can't even talk to this young lady any more.
Finally finding his tongue and nerves, shattered as they seemed to be, he was about to actually face the one thing that seemed to have had him pinned down for the last few days. "I'll work on smiling a bit more around you Alas, but as for my family and pack. I do still have to show them who is alpha." This statement he actually flashed a warm smile at her. He was somewhat joking, but still held the truth. Until he knew exactly how all of his pack would react, he would keep the mushy insides to only the bare minimum knowing.
"As for telling me such a thing is...charming. That takes a brave and beautiful wolfess to do." Crap he slipped that word in there. He quickly stumbled over his words, "Intelligent! I meant intelligent..." his blue fur deepened into a red tint. What was he doing?!?

Alas tail wavered as she watched the male trying to read his closed expressions. For a moment she feared his silence was in anger, but since when was being charming an insult? She waited curious as to what thoughts could possibly be running through the alpha's mind. She slowly stood as she saw a slight motion of his jaw and edged a bit closer, though it probably wasn't the clever thing to do.
A bright smile crossed her muzzle as he spoke and she laughed a bit.
"No one could ever doubt YOU were alpha Crunch!"
She laughed as he hesitated on the word charming, wasn't he used to getting a compliments?
"It's only the tru-" she lost her words as he called her brave and...beautiful? Crunch called HER beautiful? She was pink! She looked at him for a moment confused. Now who couldn't take a compliment?
She flushed and looked down looking back up startled as he added intelligent in there as well. Well, well quite the charmer, but she couldn't let this sort of flattery get to her. She gave his muzzle a tender lick and sat back down.
"Thank you...no ones ever said that to me before...I guess pink isn't exactly the color of choice." She gave a soft laugh.

((I'm having fun with this. Poor Crunch he is gonna want me killed...I'm going to hide Algoma from him. >.>; Don't want to be tortured to the brink of death.))
The male looked at the laughing femme, she did have a point. He never faltered really on his stance or the rank that he held in the face of others...not like Alas or Gracia. Some wolves thought him too harsh, other's out right mean, and then the select few that thought little of this young adult male unworthy of his head being held so high. He shook his head, those minds didn't matter any more. They were on the other end of Telk.
"You're right, but that doesn't mean that I wont still be snappy," Crunch admitted and then added, "Or brutal to those that need discipline."
Though the alpha was still a bit flustered at the compliment, but then when Alas obviously heard his slip in words, that even had the Alpha wandering if it truly was that. A slip of words. Something told him no, but everything else wanted to growl at the sudden obvious show of not being a solid rock of cold bitterness.
But seeing the red flush in with her pink fur Crunch just tilted his head to the side to compare that red in her white lacy eye decorations. It was quiet remarkable...Gah...Crunch closed his eyes to shut up the thoughts. What was he thinking? Didn't he first need more members in his pack before starting off his search for a dedicated mate?
Feeling the lick on his muzzle the dark blue eyes popped open. Confusion and shock mixed into one giant ball in his sight and throat. Though this was only temporary for Alas' last statement got his eyes to narrow.
"It's not about the pelts color. It's the personality that matters Alas and your personality makes you very much a femme of choice for any half minded male." Hearing the words the came out of his own mouth Crunch stood up and made a large circle behind himself.
What was he saying? He looked at Alas from the corner of his eye, for once Crunch felt like prey in the jaws of his killer. Oh, if his siblings could see him now, he would suffer miserably...Especially if Snickers got wind of this.

Alas grinned at Crunch's words, her tail wavered teasingly in the air and slid playfully under his nose as she turned.
"Snappy and brutal? You?" She glanced over her shoulder with a half grin and a raised brow before sobering.
"I suppose you CAN be, but I much prefer the side of you that lays beneath that...crunchy exterior" She gave a soft smile as she used his own words.
Alas sat back down realizing how outspoken she was being, it was all fine and dandy to tease and play with Gracia in such a manner, but Crunch was sure to loose his temper with her if she got too close again. She looked at him wistfully for a moment thinking how nice it would be to press back against him and relax in the safety of his shadow. Maybe she could even join his pack...No, she had a promise to keep, Twist needed her help and Crunch needed no one.
Her ears twitched as she heard his next statement and she looked up at him startled before laughing.
"I'm afraid I havent had any time to spend around half minded males." She paused a moment before adding softly.
"It would be nice to find someone though, who appreciates my personailty that is, not some half-wit." She smiled wryly "Maybe even finally have a family of my own...belonging is much harder to come by then I had hoped."
She watched Crunch circle about and tilted her head at him curiously, perhaps he was feeling restless talking with her so long. She offered him a soft smile and stood.
"If your tired I can leave you in peace...I know I wasn't even supposed to seek you out for a while..."

Still looking at Alas from the corner of his eye, Crunch shift his head to look full on at the pink wolf. What wasn't there to love about being a snappy male that could defend his land and family? Wait, he just was going to go ahead and answer that one. Everything was wrong with a snappy brutal male if he took his fangs to his own blood and friends.
But he hadn't been like that at all with Alas today and that perturbed the alpha greatly. Well she just said that she preferred what lays beneath my hard demeanor. He didn't even care that Alas made a joke out of his own, like he would have if any of his siblings had. Oh boy, he was in deep and still sinking.
Tilting his head and perking his ears up, Crunch heard all of the lonely femme's words. She was a good wolf and deserved more then watching over her shoulder and sleeping with one eye open. Oh, how he wanted to extend the offer for her to stay in his lands indefinitely, but then again he knew the importance of Alas' pack to her. So he would hold back his tongue.
However, raising his head again and strolling back towards Alas, Crunch nudged her neck with his snout. "You'll find someone that will jump over mountains for you." Crunch held back his tongue from saying something random like, For example me. I'd kill that cat and anyone wishing to hurt you.
With a slight wince at his thoughts and her words Crunch shook his head. "No Alas. You're not bothering me. If you were I would have said something about it by now. Remember I don't have the patience of Gracia," he sighed and said with a soft smile, then stepped back from the pink healer. "You don't have to go, truthfully, I enjoy your company."

A smile nod was the only response Alas had to give to that before she shrugged. "Maybe, but I'm not going to find any males like that in my pack..." not that I would trust them even if I did... she thought to herself sadly. How she longed to shake of the sensation of paranoia when thinking of her pack.
She never felt uneasy around Crunch and Gracia, even when she slipped into the land she felt safe despite not knowing who else could be around. Alas was just so assured that if she needed help her friends would be there. So why couldn't she make friends in her own pack? Maybe she just wasn't trying hard enough, instead of slipping off to swim, and practice what Crunch taught her, or visit Gracia she should have been trying to make friends within her pack. Friends with who though? The only adults around she barely trusted, uncertain if they were mind twisted by that sneaky feline.
Her attention focused back on the dark blue male before her and a smile lit her features once more. If only she could join Crunch's pack instead, perhaps once she had aided Twist in ridding herself of the lynx she would ask him to let her join them. She moved close once more and gently nosed his muzzle, she would have liked to sit beside him and bury her muzzle against his neck to relax and feel the warmth and safety of another. Alas wasn't stupid enouh to put her teeth anywhere near the males neck and ruin the moment.
"I hoped I would grow on you..." she smiled softly and looked up at him.

With a solemn nod Crunch agreed, "Maybe, or you just need to look around a bit more." But not in your pack. Look at me! The male thought disgruntled and clenched his teeth closed. He didn't want to put Alas in that type of position and he didn't want to have to worry about her Alpha getting mad at her for having a mate outside of the pack. Though if this Twist character tried anything with Alas, be it under that lynx or not, he would go for the young alpha.
Crunch looked at Alas and blinked when nosed. Her truly did care for Alas like his sisters, but something else drove him for the need to protect her so. Another smile came up to his maw, "Well I think you have."

Alas gave a soft smile and nodded at Crunch's words. "Perhaps, but I shouldn't limit myself to the pack, I wouldn't exactly have a lot of choice, more like one choice. I've only met him once, and he wasn't very friendly more solitary. Most of the new comers are a family."
She thought perhaps she should try and make friends with the mother, next chance she got. For now her attention were focused on the dark blue male she was leaning against she really did enjoy his company.
"I'm glad that I have, I really hadn't meant to upset you before..." She gave a glance at the scars upon his back before gazing up at him with a soft smile and gently nuzzling down to bury her nose in the fur round his neck.

"Well maybe you can look towards the direction of this pack. I know I would be honored, personally." The large blue male allowed his voice to slip and his eyes widened. Would Alas actually think of him as a possible mate choice? Why he had been nothing but bitter...or maybe not as much as he thought.
After all she had pointed out that his smile made him charming. Not caring any more, if his words offended Alas he was sure not to see her in his lands again, but he truly hoped that that wasn't the case at all. He pressed his muzzle kindly but ackwardly against hers briefly and his his turned backwards.
"Upset? Oh...my back. Well, just give it time. I'm really just particular about that location. But the story leading into the reasoning why is for another time." He stated looking towards the tree tops, but feeling the wet nose press into his neck fur. It felt good for him to actually have someone outside his family to speak with and silently the alpha promised himself one thing.
To protect Alas with all his heart even if she did go for someone else as a mate. He would try and keep an open relationship with this female if it was the last thing he did.

Alas looked at Crunch in surprise and nodded softly with a slight smile. "Yes perhaps I will..."
She looked at Crunch hopefully for a moment before blushing and giving a soft nod at his words. "I would like to hear it someday..." She slowly pulled her muzzle away and glanced towards her own packlands.
"I should head back before anyone notices I'm gone...hope you don't mind if I come by tomorrow..." She gave his muzzle a quick lick before turning to head out glancing over her shoulder with a smile, her tail wavering slightly in farewell.
"Till next time..."

Relief rippled through Crunch's frame at not being shot down right away. But just like anything the male knew relationships grew and flourished before blossoming. "Till next time," he agreed only finding his voice at that moment and though it pained him to see her go. The thought of her returning made the pain less. Getting up the male headed back to his home in the heart of the territory. Maybe now Gracia would stop giving him worried looks.
