He wouldn't have blamed her. In the least. At the moment, he felt like the worst cad on the face of the planet. Especially when she said she wasn't right in the head. A stallion who was wasted on herbs, and a mare who wasn't quite sane. Beautiful. Just beautiful. Their kids (if they WERE his kids, he wasn't sure, but he certainly wasn't going to reject them now!) were doomed. "I'm sorry?" he said weakly, and gave her a grimacing smile. No wonder Selene kept rejecting him. He was an idiot. He kept trying to be suave, but everywhere he stepped turned nasty.
"I... if they're... I mean, we can't really remember, but... I'm more than willing to help you with them... if you need it. If you're willing to allow me to be a part of their lives."
In a way, he felt almost sad. He couldn't remember, and she couldn't remember, but he vaguely suspected... but no child deserved to grow up without a parent, regardless of the truth of it all. Or lack thereof. He had lost his mother at too young an age, and grown up with a father who didn't care.
Whether they were his or not, the child deserved a father.

"I guess we'll find out when they're born?" Tear suggested. If they were Kishi's, they'd have his stamp. And either way...Tear worried about her own ability to be a mother. The foals needed some sort of stability, the kind she wasn't sure that she could provide on her own. "Whether they are or not...help...I would probably need it." Her head dropped. "I don't want to be like my mother. I don't know if she abandoned me or my sister, or simply...lost us. But..." She looked back up at him now, eyes resolute. "I won't impose. Once they are grown, you're free."

He nodded slightly, innards twisting. "Whether they are or not, you'll have it as long as you need it." he said finally.
Mares. He loved them. They'd kill him one day, he knew it.
"Here's a suggestion. Leave the children somewhere you can always find them. I am certain I can find a good place where I could raise a couple kids, and I have some family of my own, so I am sure I could provide at least a little stability for them. And they'd have one place, so if you wandered off, or lost them, you'd know where to find them again." he gave her a wink.
He wasn't making light of it, but he was trying to relax her. And get her closer towards the center of the shelter. Out of the rain was good. For him too.
Sniffles... sniffles were bad, bad things.

"That sounds...yeah. I think that would be good since...I don't know how my mate would take it, if I find him." Tear pawed at the ground restlessly before finally laying down further away from the edge of the overhang, tired of standing. "He's in these lands somewhere...or he will be..." She rested her head on the ground, horn digging into the dirt slightly. "I have to believe that," she said quietly to herself. She would do her best to raise these foals, but it wasn't what she would have planned, and not what this stallion would have planned.

He felt so very guilty, hearing her murmur about her mate. "I... I'm sure you'll find him." he murmured finally, reassuringly. "And I'm sure that he will love anything that came from you." he remained in position, glancing out into the rain.

"As...strange...as he and I are...I think you're right." Tear looked up at him. "And staying to help will have to count for something in his eyes. As well as in the eyes of any you yourself might...wish to be with." She had no idea if he had a mate as well, or if he were trying to woo another, or if he'd not wished for this at all. Who knew how strong those herbs had been?

He gave her a tight smile, bending his legs to lay on the opposite side of the overhang from her. "Let me know if you need anything at any time." he said finally. "Whenever you are ready, we can go try and find a place to raise them." he already knew his brother would help, he didn't doubt that in the least. Family togetherness time.

The rain had lessened to a fine mist by now, and not even the overhang was sheltered much as the wind had shifted. Figuring she might as well find where her foals would be raised sooner than later, Tear hauled herself back up to her feet with a grunt. A few kicks rewarded her effort, causing her ears to flatten to her head in irritation for a moment before she shook her head, sending her heavy mane rippling. "Let's do that."

He waited patiently for her to stand, thinking about the areas that might be best. Someplace that could be easily found again, preferably close to water. Trees would be good for shade, and for shelter in situations like this, whre it was raining.
He felt sort of like a parent, oddly, just watching her. She was quiet, docile, talking quietly with him, and even in her annoyance struck him as almost apathetic about the situation. His own reaction struck him as odd as well however. Maybe it was his guilt, or maybe it was her vulnerability, but he felt... responsible.

Tear knew Kishi had likely been expecting her to scream and rage, giving a battle cry against the inevitable. But there was nothing to be done about the situation save attempt to raise the foals to the best of her ability. She refused to acknowledge any other possibility...she would not repeat history. Any foals she bore would know who their parents were.
"Well, you said you had an idea," she said finally, glancing back at him. Hell if she knew anywhere good...she usually didn't worry about shelter unless she needed it that moment.

He nodded after a moment. "There is a clearing not too far from where the two-legger I stay with has her teepee. It is close by shallow water, and has trees for shelter. There is a rather large tree, though I don't know if there are any inhabitants currently... it could be a good place for the child to be raised. Shelter and water, and not too far from other soquili, so that if anything -does- happen..." his voice trailed off. "Though I don't know how comfortable you are with that."

Tear twitched a little at the word 'teepee.' She was nervous around humans, not neccessarily scared of them, but scared of what she could do to them. Another Soquili at least had the size and brawn to fight back, should she snap. A human? Well, they were SOL. But...if Kishi was to be there, and the foals, she thought she would be okay. She could hold onto herself for a little bit, for those foals. She would. "Show me this place? If you would," She added. She might not be sane, but she wasn't going to act simple either!

He nodded gravely and stepped out from the overhang. It was a light drizzle now, but the ground was still mushy. "Let me know if I go too fast." he said finally, turning to give her a glance with his pupil-less eyes. "Make sure to watch your footing." the thought that this mare could be with a child- his child- scared him to death. Would he be a good father? He was playing confident, but what base did he have for a filial model? The father who had driven his mother to leaving? The mother who had left and torn him away from his twin?

"Why thank you, now I wonder how I made it past foalhood," Tear snapped suddenly, ears laying back. With a soft snort, she pushed past him out into the mist, tail lashing as her hooves made cloven marks in the soft dampened earth. Such a change of mood was not completely Kishi's fault, nor was it even uncommon for the mare. "Let's go!" she demanded, practically snapping her tail in Kishi's face.

His ears went back as soon as his did, the stallion uncertain of what he'd done to earn the quick change in temper. "Probably by only having one life to worry about." he snapped back, and stomped past her, making sure to stomp particularly hard in a wide, deep puddle on the side closer to Tear, sending mud splashing everywhere. "I live to serve. Come." he moved forward at a careful trot, heading toward the spot he'd had in mind.
It would be a quick journey, and the spot he would take her to would be secluded, a natural clearing just inside of where the forest started, close to the river.
