Aishwarya wouldn't laugh, though it was extremely difficult to not to given what he had just said.
'I don't have an opening in my belly, although it would be alot easier then what actually happens.' she paused, her mouth twitching and she waited a moment before carrying on when she knew she wouldn't smile or chuckle.
'The foals come out the same way that they..went in and the opening isnt exactly accomodating for objects of foal size.'
She shivered a little at the thought.
'And given that the average mare gives birth to two foals, that's at least twice that something has to come out of said opening.'

Shikoba tilted his head to the side, pondering this a moment. 'They come out the same way they...'
"Ooohhhh!! Wow...uhm...that...yeah. No wonder it hurts. I mean...its not very big, is it?"
He tried to picture it all in his head, got a little dizzy, and stopped trying to picture it. He looked back at Aishwarya, and noticed that she was trying hard to hold back her laughs. He grinned at her and nudged her belly lightly with his nose.
"So you think its funny that I don't know anything about having babies, huh? Well, at least I'm asking."
He grinned and nuzzled his nose against hers, smiling.

'No, and yes that's one reason why it will hurt. You want to carry these for me then?' Aishwarya grinned, flicking her hair out of her eyes again.
'That and the contractions..the bodies way of pushing the foals out.' she added hastily, not sure if Shikoba would have any idea what that word meant.
'I do find it a little funny that you are asking after you got me pregnant.' she gave him a wink, lipping his mouth softly. She'd become so relaxed with Shikoba, and now they were having children..she felt a complete-ness that she hadnt known she was missing.

Shikoba smiled. She was so kind to him, and even though she was laughing, he knew that she wasn't making fun of him.
"Well, if we had been trying, I might have asked more questions, but we weren't exactly planning this."
He smiled, then thought that he might sound like he didn't want this right now, and quickly corrected himself.
"I mean, not that I'm upset. I'm overjoyed to be having children. I think its perfect, Aishwarya."

'Don't have to try, just have to..' Aishwarya let the end of the sentence hang and gave a small wink at Shikoba.
'I can tell you aren't upset about it, really. I know you are overjoyed..that or you are having a smiling problem.' she chuckled a little. She shifted very slightly, moving her weight from one side to the other.
'Shall we walk? I'm getting a little stiff just standing here.' she would ask in a while if he wanted to be around when she actually gave birth, she did feel he might panic alot though.

Shikoba smiled and nuzzled Aish's nose. She was so kind to him, and where others might mistake his reactions, she knew exactly how he felt. There was something amazing about that that Shikoba couldn't really explain.
"Sure, where do you want to go? Or shall we just go with no particular destination?"

Aishwarya slowly swished her long, braided tail, returning Shikoba's 'nose-kiss' and smiling back at him.
'We can just walk..and talk. I mean we have much to talk of when you think of it.' she grinned a little, walking off slowly, knowing he would follow. She wanted to set the pace anyways, she couldn't shift so fast as normal.
'I guess I should ask you..well whether or not you want to be there when I actually give birth.' she flicked a glance at him, curious to see if he would look panicked at the mere thought of it.

Indeed, a panicked look swept across Shikoba's face. When he had tried to picture it in his mind, he had gotten a little queasy, but what if she wanted him there? It was a painful experience, and he was part of it after all, right?
"Well...I can't honestly say that its something that I'd want to watch...but if you want me to be there with you, then I will."

Aishwarya suppressed more chuckles at the look that Shikoba wore at the idea of witnessing the birth; indeed he even looked to having a distinct green tinge.
'Breathe..' she said softly, nudged him with the side of the swell of her belly as they walked along.
'I'd never make you do something you didnt want to, and you'll be no good if you're in a heap on the floor.'
She smiled gently.
'I'll just ask my friend if she will stay with me.'

Shikoba took her advice and took a deep breath, clearing his head of that image again. He smiled as she nudged him, but kept himself from nudging her back.
"Are you sure? I mean, I would if you wanted me to, but, like you said, I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep my head. Maybe I'll come, but stay a little distance away. And I'll come and see you and the children when its over."

Aishwarya nodded, replying firmly;
'I'm perfectly sure hun,' she said, feeling a little unsure about using her first pet-word when addressing Shikoba, but liked the feeling of doing so nonetheless.
'It's my first time, and I would want someone who isnt going to feel queasy about being there. You can see our children before they go into the baskets.'
She walked slowly onwards.
'Do you think we will have two children..? My friend had three the first time and four the second! But she said that two was the average.'

Shikoba felt a little flutter in his heart as she called him 'hun'. He liked the sound of it, though hearing it from anybody else wouldn't have made him happy at all.
"I'm not sure. As you've learned, I know nothing about this whole thing, so I really can't tell."
He smiled as they continued along, heading in no particular direction.

'Well then, it shall be one big surprise for you, and those are often good.'
Aishwarya stopped, her legs shaking a little.
'I felt them..' she whispered.
'A kick,' she winced as it happened again.
'One of our children is a good kicker already.' her braided tail slowly brushed along the ground.
'Press your nose against my belly,' she suggested.
'You might be able to feel them.'

Shikoba stopped as Aishwarya did, and panicked a bit at first. But she sounded pretty calm, so there was no reason for him to panic, right?
"Are they supposed to kick?"
He took her suggestion and lowered his head to press his nose against her belly. It was warm, and a lot firmer than it looked. It felt like they were in there pretty tight. He waited to feel it, and suddenly it came. Something poked at his nose, surprising him as it was pretty forceful for something that wasn't even born yet.
"Woah...that was weird...."

'I believe so, there isnt really much to stop them from doing so, other then my silent pleadings.' Aishwarya chuckled softly. It was lovely to feel that her children were so lively, but it was a tad uncomfortable.
She stayed still as Shikoba felt the kicking for himself;
'If you could only feel how it is for me.' she said.
'It's even weirder.'
She shifted her weight again, and turned slowly around.
'Want to walk me back to the Village? I'm getting a little tired.'
Aishwarya had taken to staying at the Village over night now, and it would take her a while to get back.
