Sometimes I realize I'm looking at it, sometimes I don't. I don't think the painting is that old. I mean, the canvas frame and canvas itself was in rather good shape still if I'm remembering correctly. Who knows. When I get some time to actually look for it, I'll take a picture of it.

Well just because its on canvas and is in good condition doesn't mean much I have a few that we my late grandmothers and they are from the turn of the century and are on canvas(old canvas) and are in good condition its rarer and more expensive then but if taken care of they can last centuries. It maybe something from a past like but its a streach.*shrugs*I'm really not sure though it could really be anything. But I know the feeling of sitting there and next thing you know you've lost five ten minutes just looking at a painting. I have one that has been past down in my family its if I remember right late 1700s early 1800s if my memory serves me right and its been in our family as long as we can remember but none of us know who the girl in the painting is her name has been lost over the years. but I find myself lost in it, it beautifuly done and the woman is very striking and its a very risky painting for the time(She basicly nude on top her breast are only covered by a thin like over lay of a see through fabric)...I'm getting off topic sorry....

Very true. Oh, and don't worry too much with the slight off topicness ^_^. I haven't had a chance to look for the painting due to an increase in hours at work. Hopefully, I'll have time to look soon.

The research on the artist has, so far, yielded nothing. Without the first name or a date, it's very hard to find anything.

Its a very pretty painting...one of the few I've every seen where the flowers are wilted looking instead of fresh, thats the frist thing that caught my eye but I was raised around flowers and such so I tend to note that first but its interesting, I was looking at it and just from that I got a weird feeling about it and I'm god knows how many miles away from you and it so thats weird. You do that it might help because there is a possiblity that it may change if it is truely what is causing your nightmares from it. But do take you time I am not going much of anywhere I always checking things on gaia so do not worry. This is me speaking from my limited knowledge I took one painting class my sophomore year in high school but we did not learn much on artists and when we did it was mainly really major ones, but from the looks it might be 20-40s are I'd think from the way its painted its seems more gods what is the word I am looking for roughly painted like the artist didn't blend everything perfectly like older artists would.
I think I may talk to some of my old art teaches or maybe even to an art dealer that I know print out these pictures and see if they can tell me anything....I am interesting in this artist their style is very pretty. But yes without a first name or date it is very hard to find out anything on an artist such a draw back to it.

Lady_Death I know that feeling, I've taken plenty of art classed myself. But there may be a reason behind you being drawin to that mirror even if it is in the center area, it could be what is connecting something to you mirrors I've noticed some times with paintings tend to be an easy place for a spirit to collect...if that makes any sense. I honestly just don't like mirrors always have a bad feeling about them...though that stems from my childhood so its all good still freaks me out.
But that would be wonderful about the picture. It would be most interesting to see. With the painting are you more compeled to look at it or to shun away from it? I hate mirrors. For many many different reasons but mainly because of an incident in first grade. I was being picked on and I got shoved into the tiny bathroom. the light switch was on the wall outside the door, and there was a long mirror on the wall right across from the toilet. They were picking on me and pushing me around when one of them said to do bloody mary. So they shoved me kicking and screaming into the tiny bathroom alone and turnd off the lights. I was crying and telling them to let me out but they wouldnt untill I said the bloody mary rhym three times while looking at the mirror. It was pitch black and I was scared so I just did it thinking that they'd let me out. When I finished I heard a sound from right infront of me, and did the logical thing... I had a spaz attack. I dropped to the ground wailing and screaming and beating the living crap out of the air in front of my face. They were laughing outside and calling me a baby and scardy cat. I was terrified. And I didnt stop clawing the air untill the teacher pulled me out and smacked me. I never used that bathroom again and I still feel uncomfortable and watched when I'm near a mirror.

Wow...I had a mountain of replies while I was away, lol. Anywho...
Lady_Death: Thank you very much. I've lost contact with my former art teacher, otherwise I would have asked him. I'm glad I'm not the only one that gets an odd feeling from it. As for the style you were trying to think of, it was most likely Impressionist smile .
Ash: I'm very sorry that happened to you. It'll come back to them eventually. I feel a bit uneasy and watched when I pass, and sometimes even look in, mirrors, so I know how you feel.
Bvondy: The kitten in question was found by myself underneath the window. It had been cleanly decapitated and the body was laying centered on top of the head. There was no blood present anywhere in the area. I apologize if I've just turned anyones' stomach. Talk about a crazy thing to find when you're so young.
windy_angel: Thank you for reading all the posts smile . Yeah, it is a bit odd that the flowers are like that. I think that's one of the reasons I like it. It kind of gives the painting character, I guess. It's a little hard reading through the story without getting a touch uneasy, so don't feel bad.
