"The Guardian bond... it holds a Fa'e to this world. Without it, the Fa'e will..." Airi held up her free hand and peered at Kami through it. "This is what it means, to fade... to forget yourself, and eventually lose yourself completely in the sunlight and the air. It is more than death for us... and it is beginning to happen to this child, though you cannot see it yet. He needs a bond to anchor him, as do we all."
She lowered her hand, but not before lightly touching Kanoa's tiny head. "You seem to have served him well. He knows you."

This was alot to digest at one time. The fact that she could have endangered him more by leaving making her stomach turn.
"Oh.. wish Ah hadn't asked.. glad Ah did though." She said softly shuddering at the cold chill that prickled at her spine, "Eh.. the lil guy's growin' on me that's f' sure." The Chetorian gave a vague smile, seeming to puff up pridefully at this fact.
Kanoa peered up at the hand on his head, blinking as he stared up at the barely visible ceiling overhead through it. This lady was even more awesome! She was like that dice he had earlier but easier to see through. Much more pleasent and alive.

Airi smiled at Kami, knowingly. "Will you anchor him then, with the Guardian bond? You seem to be his Guardian now, in all but name..." She frowned slightly, not liking the idea of another Fa'e left behind. At least this one would not come close to meeting what she feared was her own fate. She patted Kanoa absently, her touch feather-light on his head.

"For the sake of this child, Ah will." She said affirmatively, looking from Airi to Kanoa who warbled and giggled happily at the patting. "'m just glad Ah came seeking help when Ah did...so many things to learn.." She ran a claw tip through the thin fur of her brow.

Airi smiled again and reached out her free hand to Kami. "I will bind the two of you together, then. Tend for him well, he is young yet." She waited, expectantly, for Kami to place a hand in her own.

Leaning forward on her knees, Kami reached out placing her hand in Airi's lightly, fearing the chance of possibly phazing right through the woman's palm. That wouldn't be the best of impressions, she figured. Kanoa, calmed his giggly babbling to look between the two in confusion.
"Habbu...?"

Airi tightened her hand around Kami's, and folded the other lightly around Kanoa - not enough to hurt him, but enough to hold him in place. Her eyes slid closed.
A moment later, there was a sudden tightening within both Fa'e and newfound Guardian as the link was established. Airi's hand slipped limply off of Kami's then, and her grip on Kanoa relaxed instantly. "Keep him safe, so he will grow strong," she said, laying back on the couch, weakly.

Heart thumping loudly in her chest, as Airi tightened her grip on them both. Kanoa not really figiting too terribly much but did wriggle enough to latch his tiny jaws against the side of a finger, nothing hard at all. His attention wrapt up in the soft lady's finger.
Something behind Kami's eye made her vision a momentary flicker of stars as she rubbed at her eyes with a free hand to clear them. Feeling the hand slip away she jerked to capture it again resting it gently on the couch at Airi's side. She nodded at the instructions a fairly worried look on her face as she held out a hand to Kanoa.
"You have my word."
As the finger was gently pried from his grip at her relaxing, Kanoa blinked at the fingers again, feeling that this was some sort of game as he squealed and made a grand leap into Kami's arm scuttling up her arm as if Airi might give chase. He was fairly disappointed that she didn't however and sighed.
"Buuu.."

"Keep him safe," she repeated, closing her eyes and seeming to shrink into the couch.
Immediately, the fairy from before was back, spreading her wings in Kami's face. "She is tired!" the fairy said, shrilly. "Please!"

Attention drawn to the little fairy again, Kami took one last look at tired Fa'e and rose to her feet and walked from the room. Kanoa wriggled his way onto her shoulder looking rather forlorn at them leaving the nice lady behind, his tiny hand waving at her as they continued out and left the Headquarters.
