Honey you haven't lived til you've heard YMCK -- Japanese band and super awesome b/c their music is completely the 8-bit from old-school videogames!!! o.m.g.

Josh Groban (epic voice, hate his Awake album. search for You Raise Me Up, To Where You Are, and Oceano <<<<Faithless (song: Mass Destruction) it's soft rap but the song's worth listening to,
Of Montreal,
the Flaming Lips,
Savage Garden (songs: Tears of Pearls, Thousand Words),
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (old stuff but still good),
Annie Lennox (song: Sweet Dreams are Made of This),
Kate Nash (song: Foundations) has a smashing sense of humor,
the Veronicas (Australian twin sisters, major attitude, household names in Australia, best album is Secret Life of the Veronicas),
Goldfrapp (song: Oh La La),
Bowling for Soup (songs: Highschool Never Ends, 1985, London Bridge parody, the b***h Song),
Flogging Molly (irish punk rock/stomp not everyone's cup of tea, but their song What's Left of the Flag is gooooood),
the Trucks (song: Shattered) pseudo-trance, weird but easy to enjoy
Miranda Lambert (song: Kerosene, I hate country but this song is dang awesome!),
Superchick (song: Hero, first listening you want to say it's cheesy, but have to admit it's good),
Dixie Chicks (song: Goodbye Earl, funny, best friends put end to spousal abuse),
Blur (song: Woo Hoo, not the Vonage woo hoo)
Bullet for My Valentine (song: All These Things I Hate),
Chumba Wumba (song: I Get Knocked Down),
Drowning Pool (song: let the bodies hit the floor) just try it, good for kicks and I was listening to this during my skydiving 60-second freefall!!! lol
Distrubed (song: 10,000 Fists)
the Eels (song: Monster)
Flobots (song: Handlebars) first got me into the artist
Garbage (song: I'm Only Happy When it Rains)
Jason Wade (song: You Belong to Me) love his version best
Mindless Self Indulgence (song: Shut Me Up)
Paper Route (song: City Trucks)
Regina Spektor (song: Fidelity) different, even for me
Roxette (song: Listen to Your Heart)
Self (song: Stay Home)
the Ting Tings (songs: Fruit Machine, Shut Up and Let Me Go)
and anything by Wierd Al Yankovich

If you love Musicals, please look into Andrew Lloyd Webber, amazing song and music writer! He'll be knighted soon enough, just waiting for it. This brilliant man wrote The Phantom of the Opera, Sunset Boulevard (the title song is great), Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, Evita (starring Madonna), CATS (longest running Broadway show in history), Jesus Christ Superstar, Whistle Down the Wind. There's more but for the life of me, I can't remember what stressed
