Mizer Manakins BABY and IW have really cute bxw combos... but neither brand is 'gothic', ya? Maid-ish bxw combos tend to be seen a LOT on noobs and cosplayers, but there's a lot of really nice black and white outfits out there. -C'est la lune qui conduit la danse...-
Most of the "gothic" looking things in the Gothic & Lolita Bibles (especially the scans shown on Avant Guache), are all Metamorphose, BABY, IW, Angelic Pretty, or Putumayo for the most part. It really depends on how you coordinate and how you do your hair and makeup, imo.

.::If you do it just right, black&white don't look maid-ish at all. As for lace, eh. I really perfer ruffles, esspecially at the bottom of the dress. :3

I'm with you, Bali-lalila. I don't care for lace, most of the time, but love ruffles, especially at the hems of my dresses.

Only because Im not good at making ruffles, and its hard to find goof ruffles around here >w>

@ Pearl: >w< @ Nocturnal: Well, in that case, lace is good. You might want to practice making nice ruffles, in my opinion they make the dresses more, sophisticated. Maybe ruffly lace?

Most lace comes slightly ruffles anyhow : ] Ahh, ruffles are so hard to get right! especially if you cant cut straight and if you dont have a surger >_<
