 "The climb is always difficult, for without the challenge the top would become crowded, and the goal would lose its luster."
Perhaps it seemed cruel to mortals that in the climb some must fall or perish, in a perfect mortal world all would make it to the top. But the world was no so perfect, and the balance was as cruel as it was impartial. For one must fall for another to rise, for there to be life there must be death, and as the day rose with the sun, the darkness of night must surely follow. Though the young one may not have seen it, there was a lesson to be found in his attempted climb whether he made it to the top or was forced to descend.l
"We are the elements of life, the guardians of that which we represent."
To refer to the gods as family would have been inaccurate. While some were created as siblings, or others may have shared a greater association with a select few, by and large they were solitary creatures, unwilling to associate or trust one another. The Griffith's own part, there was only one other god he truly cared for, though there was another who's path he would soon cross.

"The fall is also rather difficult as well." Nac peered slightly, he wasn't scared of hights persay, after all he slept in the trees most of the time like his mother had done. Although he was a bit more clumbsy with them and this was higher than his normal trees.
Shaking his head to clear it of those thoughts he looked around and decided to do his best to get up as high as he could, even if he didn't get to the god fully he could get closer now and it was better than that ledge.
As he moved he listened to the new string of words that followed. "Oh," Nac pondered over this for a bit, "So elements eh?" He paused trying to decide what branch would be the strongest to land on. For the nearer to the top he reached the more careful he was.
"What element are you?" He asked again curiously he hopped to the next branch and looked to see were he was and what move he wanted to make next, he was looking from the cliffs to the tree branchs and trying to decide excatlly which would be better in his trials.

His tail flicked lightly, watching the leopon from the corner of his eye though his gaze had shifted again to the horizon and the dark sky beyond, feathers rustling against the wind. If the youth had hoped for another sign or clue he would find himself disappointed, for the god would only one one hint, the climb was his to succeed or fail.

Nac paused, looking towards the god. "So what? If I give up now I might save myself some pain?" He hopped another branch looking to see where he was, and then backed up to the base of the branch. "Well as much as I wouldn't normally.... I don't think I'd like to let this climb whoop me."
Looking at the distance of the jump and where there were vines, he was curious if he could pull this off. He should test the vines first... speically if he decides to actully use it. Backing out of the run he moved out towards the vine having to streach to reach it.
Yanking on the vine one or twice he looked back to Griffith. "So you're the god of... Balance?" He asked looking to see if he'd got it right. He yanked again on the vine and ponders. He snags two more vines close to that one and starts intertwining them.

Though the youth may not have understood, there was a great lesson to be found in the climb to the falls' peek, a literal image of the balance of life. Those who begin the climb, who tread their chosen path, must be prepared to face the fall, to continue despite those who have fallen before, to lead those who lack the strength to climb their own peek.
"I am."
His head inclined in a nod, blue eyes piercing in the moment he glanced at the youth. Perhaps the true meaning of his words has not been understood by young ears thusfar, but the youth had at least understood that, in time he may come to understand the rest as well.

Nac looked at him; Head tilted. Slightly curious it made sense but it seemed to have struck something. Something that made his mind wonder back to his sisters and wonder where they were at this moment.
He shook it off, quickly looking at the vines. He'd completed what he tried to do. He looked down lower, there were still ledges, if it didn't work this migh end up a bit painful. He cringed at the thought. But he still wanted to try.
Nac got a running start and leaped grabbing the vine, he herd severl snaps about halfway through his swing, he rolled his eyes upward towards the vine. Ack, not good. Attempting to slide down it he Aimed for the nearest soild looking peice of ground and let go. Running into the cliff wall.
"Ouch..." He looked up at balance and sighed once he'd regained the feeling and his breath, "I suppose that means it wasn't ment for me to reach the top." He looked down and picked a way and slid down it hoping every now and then from ledge to ledge. Making his way kind of slowly back down to offically soild ground; slightly sore from his run in with the wall.
"I suppose that's what you ment by the fall is easier than the climb." His shoulder seemed to feel like it was on fire, he didn't think he'd broken anything.

The great lion shook his head, he had spoken all he could to this young creature, the true lesson, if he ever saw it, would have to be learned on his own. Perhaps then he would learn those who give up so easily will find less in their lives than those who fall.
Great wings unfurled, one pair then the second stretching in turn, like a hawk preparing to take flight. He spared once last glance to the youth below, blue eyes piercing as if they could see to the very soul beneath. He spoke no further, silent wings lifting him from the earth with what seemed little effort, disappearing into the stormy sky, leaving only his words behind.

Nac looked up and watched him take leave. He sighed, "I'll have a way up to you next time we meet! I promise!" He called after the Lion.
He had wanted to go further, he'd have to work harder to find his way to the top. Maybe then the next time they met it wouldn't be such a short talk.
"Farewell for now!" He said with a nod as Griffith left, maybe he was dissapointed in him; nac knew he was dissapointed in himself but he'd find a way before he ran into the god again.
