Lunathiel's smile faltered at the mention of her oldest daughter. She did her best to regain it but it seemed stuck in place. If the truth were to be told she hadn't seen Amoena in several weeks. She had just left Ayden at home one day and run off to Gods know where. Even if she hadn't left she wouldn't be inclined to let her daughter come close to her mate again. Whether Amoena had forgiven him or not she still couldn't trust her not to attack.
"Yeah...we can keep him in line but I think I'd rather see you and Ayden make him lose it first." She was doing her best to paint her normally bright smile back on her face but she was having some problems. She had been ready to here Figment's name, Ayden's name and Shadow's name come from her son's mouth. She hadn't thought he'd ever bring up Amoena meeting with his father again. Had Shadow covered over everything Amey had done with some story? It didn't seem likely. After all she was fairly certain he knew that Lunathiel wanted to keep the two well apart from each other.
Maybe Nahuel just knew that Amoena used to keep Ayden in line. It was likely that he could reach the conclusion that she would do the same for Shadow. She was thinking far to much about this. It had just been a bit of a joke. That's all it was but it still rattled her a bit.

Although Shadow had never told him the entire story of the fight between himself and Amoena, Nahuel had been left to wonder of the fight that he knew had happened... although when he asked his father, he'd laughed a bit nervously and said "it was just a scuffle, and it's all in the past now." Still, there was no denying that Nahuel was a bit clueless when left to ponder things he didn't entirely understand, and could guess to the fact that he might have made the young mare angry with something he said or some past transgression- maybe flirting with another mare- and simply dismissed it as minor. The sight of his mother's smile failing under his scrutiny, however, did not fail to catch his attention.
"Momma?" he questioned hesitantly, wondering if he'd said something wrong. He seemed to have a knack for doing that, he noted... maybe eventually Roxanne could help him fix that. Was the situation with Ame more serious than he'd assumed? "What's wrong?" He hadn't seen her in quite some time, and she'd never been overly friendly with him, although he loved her dearly anyway. "Did I say something bad?" he was beginning to get visibly upset himself, cursing his insensitivity and his habit of saying the wrong things.

"No, it's okay." She said laying her head across her sons back again. It was like he was a foal all over again and she was still hiding the truth. She hadn't expected the past to just fade from her children's' memories like she wished it had. Ayden had once asked her why 'Amey didn't like papa' and she had given him an answer that she assumed Shadow would as well. 'They got in a little fight but it's all fine now' and every time he would ask about the fight she would simply say it didn't matter whether it did or not. "Just a few of my memories resurfacing. That's all." She smiled keeping her head down resting on Nahuel's spotty back, spots he had inherited from her, and somehow it was comforting. Almost like it really was all just a memory now. That nothing bad could come from it anymore.

Nahuel wasn't entirely convinced, and it showed on his face, the concern in his deep blue eyes, but he didn't press the matter any further, not wanting to upset his mother any more than he already had. He knew there was something that she wasn't telling him- he was dense, not stupid- but she seemed distraught about it already, and he didn't want to make her sad. Nuzzling into her side like he had done as a foal, he sighed softly and closed his eyes.
He racked his brain for any words of comfort he could offer... anything that could bring a smile back to her face, but came up drawing a blank. He didn't know what happened, so he couldn't make it better, but he could reassure her with what he did know. "I love you, Momma. You know that, right? And Dad loves you, too. We're all here for you."

Lunathiel's eyes widened and she lifted her head shocked. "Is that what you think this is about?" She asked misinterpreting his words. "No no no. I know you love me. I know you all love me don't worry about things like that." She nuzzled against him now feeling guilty for making him worry.
She needed to work on her timing better. If she wanted to worry over things she needed to start doing it in privacy so that she didn't scare anyone around her. She didn't want that. Not at all. She wanted everyone to be happy not worrying themselves into misery.
((Homigaw short. I'm so sorry.))

|| Bah, don't worry X3 I've typed shorter. ||
"Well, no, I..." he paused, trailing off as he forgot the point he was trying to make. She didn't seem to be upset anymore, however, so it seemed unnecessary to bring it up again. Shaking his head, he only smiled again, nuzzling into his mother's mane affectionately. "Everything will work out, Momma, you'll see. Ame loves you as much as all of us do."
Despite being ignorant as he was, Nahuel was somewhat intuitive when it came to matters of family... or so he'd like to believe. Shaking his head, he backed up a step and nosed a forelock away from her eyes with the usual bright grin. "Okay Momma, I'm gonna go find Missus Roxanne. We'll come and see you real soon, okay?"

She nodded slowly thinking about what her son had just said. That wasn't right? She had been so sure that he was worried that she was going to leave. She wanted to ask what it was then but Nahuel seemed to be past it already and she didn't feel like back tracking. "Yes, I'm sure they will be." She said with a half smile. She wasn't quite sure what was going on any more but that wasn't really surprising.
"You're leaving already?" She asked her bottom lip jutting out slightly pouting a bit. She did want to meet his love but she hadn't expected such a hit and run meeting. Her smile bloomed a bit deciding that she couldn't keep him near her forever and she really did want to meet 'missus Roxanne'. "Alright then but you better come see me soon."

He wasn't sure what else he could say to make her feel better about the situation, instead opting to drop it and hope she understood. She had the love of all of her family, even if some of them didn't get along. His father loved her, even if Ame didn't love him, and Nahuel was sure that Ame would come around sooner or later.
"I promise it'll be real soon." He grinned at her reassuringly, nuzzling her cheek again with a childlike affection that he held only for his mother. "You'll love her to death, I know." He turned to leave, smiling brightly at her over his shoulder as he said loudly, "I love you, Momma. I'll be back in a day or two, okay?" Without waiting for an answer, he galloped away, his dark form melting into the shadows of the forest completely, eager to get back to his lovely mare.
