You know, I look at it this way -
The person with the end result who is playing it is me, so who cares what everyone else thinks of it, if I like it then that is all that matters =3.
There's been a few games I've had and liked that others have hated and I don't mind =3

Info via way of several forums: Quote: -Cover Story with nice artwork -In game graphics have a water color look, all hand drawn -4 party members at a time -Each character can do certain things ex: Tails can float over things (standard stuff) -11 party members total - 8 known are Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, Shadow, Big the Cat -Control done fully with stylus - think Hourglass -Able to split party into teams at certain moments -Rings are used as currency -No random battles, see enemies on the field -Turn based battles, choose commands for everyone in your party before they actually follow through. Want battles to be fast paced -Elite Beat Agents style special attacks -Team attacks (like Chrono Trigger) -"Fatigue Points" instead of MP -Choose which attributes to increase when you level up -Purchase and level special attacks -Bits of story - Sonic's on vacation from defeating Eggman 2 years ago. Gets a call from Tails that Knuckles has been kidnapped by a group called the Marauders, and that 6 chaos emeralds are missing. Eggman not the main villain. But Bioware wants to make him a creditable bad guy again. Something about a "twist" between Eggman and Sonic that goes back to the earlier games. -2 acts - first takes place in standard Sonic areas. 2nd takes place in a darker world -Remixed classic tunes -"fully animated cut scenes" -simple dialogue trees -Side quests

The "twist" sounds like a time travel element.....

Thanks, Xag. I came across those at a rather obscene hour last night, and didn't have the time to copy the links across.

Hrm, I find myself reminded of Fiinal Fantasys 7 through 9, just in the layout style of the backgrounds and the way the characters are presented on them.
The backgrounds being in different positions, (i.e top down, then ground level ect)
They seem to have adopted the Baldurs Gate style of showing character portraits, though it could be a KoTOR style of fighting maybe?

Dang, it looks like I got beaten to it. However, here's some info DJ Ashura posted in one of the Gaming Discussion's Sonic threads. I'm sure most of it was covered already, but it's still important. DJ Ashura Apparently, there will be eleven characters in this game, including Sonic himself, Tails, Amy, Shadow, Rouge, Knuckles, and even Big. Four will be playable at a time. The art looks like it'll be good, and the battles are going to be turn based. There will be team attacks, and rings will be used as currency. Some of the story has been released as well; Sonic’s on vacation from defeating Eggman two years ago. Gets a call from Tails that Knuckles has been kidnapped by a group called the Marauders, and that 6 chaos emeralds are missing. Eggman's /not/ the main villain. But Bioware wants to make him a creditable bad guy again. Something about a “twist” between Eggman and Sonic that goes back to the earlier games. There will be two acts, first takes place in standard Sonic areas. 2nd takes place in a darker world. Remixed classic tunes, ”fully animated cut scenes”... All and all, this looks like it could become a good game.

Unfortuantely, I cannot read those articles even when enlarged at all. The text is so faint and fuzzy, I don't think I'd be able to read it with my glasses on either.
For the DS huh? The DS is getting quite a lot of good games....
But a decent RPG now on cartridge when most RPGs of length are on CDs...?

MAD for a seraph<< Oh my gosh, yay. It's great to see Big back. whee Er, well...I must be one of the few who liked his character. sweatdrop
It is looking wonderful to me so far. :D But I'm still a little iffy about the battle being all turn-based. I mean, I'm just not used to seeing Sonic stay firmly in one place... sweatdrop I was hoping to see a battle system done in real-time, where you constantly move, controlling one character while the computer takes the rest of your party. I wanted to see a battle done in...say, a fight like Sonic Battle, or a boss fight in Sonic Advance 2, or...linear motion battle, like in Tales of Symphonia. mrgreen
Ah, but since Bioware is a well-known and respected name in RPGs, of course they know what they're doing. xd I remain very interested in seeing how it all turns out.

I personally hate turn-based strategy. I owned FF Tactics and traded it in for fifteen bucks. Worst game I'd ever played. I too wish it was real time. So much easier.

Great games to play on the go and during lunch breaks at work. : P Anyway, now I'm really looking forward to this game, now that we actually have some info on it! I shall definitely be picking up the latest Nintendo Power now. And I'm digging that Shade girl. Cute little...robot...thingie. Like an older sister to Bokun from Sonic X. : P
