"Well allow me to put things in to perspective for you, perhaps..." Continuing to walk, Hotohori took heed of the bitter response to his question and opted for the more diplomatic approach. Spinel's name (in his culture at least) was open to interpretation given that he was quite simply, named after a jewel of surprising value. Why the 'sun' was there was again open to interpretation but if his companion 'Ruby' was given the birth name of 'Moon' then he had a name complimentary to her.
"Spinel is a jewel, one that comes in many a colour but it's most common forms are dark blue and deep red - more often than not they are similar to sapphires and rubies," he explained dutifully, recalling some of the jewels he had encountered as a foal. While not as valuable as a ruby, a high quality Spinel could fetch a ridiculous amount on the market (or so the humans claimed).
"If she is the Ruby then you must be the Sapphire, if she was blessed with the name 'Moon' then you must be her counterpart the 'Sun'. You are complimentary to one another, like my consort and I," he continued, offering a pleasant smile as he observed the stallion. Regardless of whether or not it was night here, it was always light somewhere else - in certain cases it was always light as Hotohori had seen when he had foolishly wandered too far north.
"But I shall honour your request and refer to you as Spinel, does that suit?"

The flutter soquili was surprised, he didn't knew anything about the origin of his name. He guessed Hotohori was right, he was complimentary to Ruby Moon. "I guessed you're right, i may not dislike my name because of someone. Thank you Hotohori, i didn't knew anything about my name." For the first time of this meeting he smiled, letting his continual guard went down. "Yes, of course you can call me Spinel."

Hotohori knew many things, it came with his upbringing and the very precise manner of his breeding. He had been strictly educated in terms of language, history and tradition. Thus, it was unsurprising that he knew some of the most useless information in the world. Unfortunately, while this made for good conversation it didn't really help him all that much in terms of survivability.
Well, he could fight. He could fight with reasonable ease and knew how to use his horn but the world around him was foreign. The plants were unusual, the weather and the landscape. The creatures that declared themselves to be predators varied and more often than not he found himself in a state of confusion. To be frank, the imperial stallion knew very little about anything in the Kawani.
Ah well, at least he was secure in the knowledge he could hold his own and more to the point, he could be sociable too.
"I am a waterfall of useless information," he confessed with good humour, ensuring his pace was still controlled as he continued to seek out his companion. No doubt by now, with her rather bizarre luck she would have found food and shelter!
"But, I do not suppose you know of anywhere to eat?"

Spinel quickly came back in his guard attitude. Not for Hotohori actually, but it was night and there was many dangerous creature we walked in the land when it was dark. And he was small, even if he could fly, if he was attacked he was not sure he could survived so it was better to be in alert.
"If she searched for food i think she may have head up towards the forest, there is many trees with fruits in."
