"Hmmph!"

Kilelo exclaimd in a slightly triumphant manner. She was awful proud of herself, breaking though this youngster's ploy to trick her. What a rotten thing to do. However, she supposed he didn't know better, being just a little cub and all. She'd be civil. With a shrug, she piped in on his statement,

"Little guy, I can hardly see you having that horrible of a secret. Besides, who would I tell? That bush over there? Because I assure you, I don't know anyone of this pride, much less whoever you're trying to keep this from."

Twitching her head a little to the side, he advanced at him. She stopped abruptly, sticking her nose inches from his, her sunken in eyes looking rather ghastly, and her emaciated form rather exposed,

"Say, you think... You think if I actually knew anyone around here I'd be looking as pathetic as this? If there was someone around that remotely cared?"

She stood quitely before him for a few seconds, letting him mull her question over before jerking her head away, sitting down a little ways before him.

"I didn't think so."

That devilish grin had slipped by his fluffy looking exterior, it made Kilelo narrow her eyes in a very amused manner. What an intriguing chance encounter. She tilted her head at his comment, however,

"Of course Kilelo's my name, what's the point of giving you a fake name? It would make no difference. Ah now, see Bili, the question is: why shouldn't you tell me?"

It wasn't so much that he wanted to trick her, no it was more so that he just didn't want her to know the truth. The fact that both went sort of hand and hand was something he couldn't help, he wouldn't have changed it in any case.

"Just because I am small or young doesn't mean I couldn't have done something terrible." He stated trying to sound mischievous and mystifying. He wasn't sure how it was working out though. He stopped speaking long enough for her to speak and get up in his face. He narrowed his eyes at her almost stepping back because of her eyes but managed to stand his ground. They spooked him but he wasn't going to show her that it did.

"You probably never made the effort to meet anyone." He replied blankly and without much interest. If she was trying to get him to pity her it wasn't going to work. If seeing his sisters upset at him didn't make him feel too bad he doubted that this female before him could, even if she could see through him.

He rolled his shoulders back in a shrug and started to circle around her. "It was a simple question, that's all. And as for my answer to your question is this;" He paused momentarily to build up suspense. "Because it keeps you guessing, and me entertained." He grinned his devious grin again before speaking once again. "How do you like that answer?"

Kilelo chuckled lightly, shaking her head, though it was a barely visible movement. A little cub like that, fresh from under the watch of mommy's loving eyes; no way he could have a truely terribly secret. But, whatever, she'd let him think whatever he wanted.

"You're right, I damn well never did."

Her tone was rather biting as she quickly spoke back. She made sure she was forceful as she spoke. Pity was the last thing she wanted. Sure, it was a pitiful life she lead, but she didn't want anyone feeling bad for her. It sickened her, having others mope over her sorry being. Perhaps that was why she stayed away from everyone else. To his question, she roughly shook her head,

"No, I don't, I don't like that answer at all. It's actually pretty boring, all of this guessing."

In a swift motion, she layed down in the rich earth, propping her head up with a paw and looking at Kabili, now eye level with him.

He chuckled still grinning as he completed his circle around her. "I thought as much." He replied falling to his stomach before rolling to his back an looking at her upside down. His tail flickered upward before falling back down to the ground and swaying back and forth in the grasses. "But if asking help doesn't suit you then down ask, it's no concern of ours. Maybe they'll notice on their own one day but to be frank some can be a bit...." He paused searching for the right word to define most of the adults. "dense." He said finally happy with his word choice.

He closed his eyes for a minute and let both the wind and her words roll over him. The white cub let out a yawn, his tongue rolling over his teeth, as if this was beginning to bore him. It wasn't he just wanted to see what she would do, that is if she did anything at all.

"It doesn't? Now that's a shame isn't it?" He asked sarcastically before his eyes fluttered open and he rolled to his stomach and propped himself up on his paws. "What do you think I did that I won't tell you?"

Kilelo scoffed, she supposed his logic was reasonable enough. She never said she was going to ask for her. She wanted to be indepenant, wanted to be able to make it on her own. She'd prove it to... To whoever. Being perfectly honest, she didn't know exactly who she wanted to prove herself to. Perhaps Toshiro. One day, she'd find one. One day, she'd maim him, as he did her mother. Their mother.

"Everyone's so self absorbed, I'm not even going to try. I can do it on my own, don't doubt me."

Watching him roll around was vaguely amusing, and as he stopped, yawning widely, Kilelo followed suit. Her mouth cracked open, quickly widening into a huge yawn, pointy fangs out in the open. When she was done, she smacked her lips idily, propping both paws under her chin and looking directly at Kabili with bi-colored eyes,

"I don't know, honestly. What, did you steal you sibling's dinner? Run away from home? Make fun of one of your little friends? Seeerial killer?"

Kilelo drastically exaggerated the last suggestion, obviously joking. If any outsider had been looking upon the two cubs, it would've been a rather amusing sight. Both on their bellies, propped up, chatting intently. Like a couple of gossiping girls.

The jester looking cub shrugged his shoulders again not really caring one way or the other if the female asked someone for help or not. It was her life and her choice, he wasn't really one to try and convince the other to seek help if she didn't want it.

"So true, we can be so selfish at times, it's in the nature of everyone isn't it?" He inquired, not sarcastically but earnestly like he valued her opinion and thoughts. Toy with her a bit in a sense.

He shook his head at each and every one of her guesses. "No....No...Close but no." He commented in between each of her phrases. "Are those your best guesses?" He yawned once more letting one paw drop and his face resting rather heavily on his other paw giving him a bored expression, a light smile on the ends of his maw were the only things telling anyone looking at him otherwise. "Do you reeeeeeeaaallllyyy want to know?"

Maybe he would tease her a bit more. "I'll give you a hint, it does involve my siblings." That was the only clue he'd give her, it wasn't very helpful but it was a clue none-the-less.

The puffy white tip of Kilelo's tail twitched back and forth idily as she watched Kabili. She was glad he didn't push the issue of her indepence any further, it was a touchy subject, tended to get her very snappy and defensive. At his question, she nodded her head to the side in a casual gesture,

"Everyone's in it for themselves, not gonna lie and say I'm not."

As he shot down all of her guesses, Kilelo rolled her eyes, letting out a long, drawn out sigh. These little game was going much longer than she had expected, he had barely said mum.

"You know what this is starting to look like? Like you don't have a secret to begin with, and you're just toying with me to keep me around."

Kilelo tossed her head to the side, her tone was a playful one. She smirked, raising a brow. She was completely positive that his little secret would dissapoint her.

"You siblings? Hmm, let me think... You cussed at your sister, pushed around your brother, posed as your twin brother and tricked your mom? Well, well? I've got nothin' after that..."

Kabili nodded, his grin disappearing for a moment as he replied to her statement. "Most people are. Some have people to stand by sometimes." He wasn't entirely sure what that meant but it sounded smart and insightful. Perhaps he was thinking of his parents and how they had each other to stand by when things got bad.

Kilelo's next words brought his grin right back. "It does look like that doesn't it? Maybe I don't and am just trying to keep you around, but then if I do have a secret and you walk away now how will you ever know?" He was still grinning that devilish grin of his. This whole meeting was amusing if not anything else.

Although as much fun as it was to toy with her he decided it was time to tell her just what he had done, if not in a way she would have to think about it. "So very close, so very very close Kilelo, but not quite." He paused trying to up the suspense. "Let's just say I left my sister hanging." He said nothing more than that. She'd have to figure out just what exactly he meant.

Kilelo's head tilted slightly, trying to decipher what Kabili just said to her. She raised her chin lightly, letting it pass... For now. She nodded at his statement, grinning as well. So maybe he was keeping her here, even though she didn't have a secret. Perhaps he did. Either way, it was a good feeling, to have someone want you around. Kilelo didn't usually get that kind of attention. Or any at all, really. The gaunt female chuckled lightly, a smile lighting up her dark face,

"If I did walk away, I'm sure I'd find you again if I wanted. We are in the same pride, afterall. Neither of us are doing any where until you tell me. We're stuck."

Ki's bony head tossed up in a cocky fashion, her bi-colored eyes trained on the cub. Hot, hot, hot, she was getting hot. Mulling over his little tip, Kilelo bit her tounge lightly. What the hell was he talking about?

"What like, left her hanging... Like, in a high five? Did you leave her up a tree.. Did you actually hang her? What the.... Bili, come now!"
PostPosted: Thu Oct 18, 2007 6:54 pm

The white cub wouldn't admit it but he rather enjoyed having this female around him, he could be himself and not worry about getting in any kind of trouble. Unless he got in trouble for talking to a stranger, but if he didn't then how would he ever meet anyone new?

He shook his head wondering why his train of thought had traveled that way. He had to focus! Yes yes, focusing sounded good to him.

"Like wise, I guess we're agreed then?" He didn't specify, no it wouldn't be like him now would it? He just assumed she knew what he was talking about. After all it couldn't be -that- hard to figure it out. Right?

His jade colored eyes had traveled away from the juve's face and now they turned back to meet her dual-colored eyes. At her question he only grinned more devilishly.

"No, no I didn't hang her, I'm not that terrible, but I did leave her hanging by a vine." He let out a laugh then shrugged. "She should be fine, I made it easy for her to escape it. She's still blood and you have to at least be sort of nice eh?" He rolled his shoulders in a shrug once more.

"Are you satisfied? You know my dirty little secret."

Kilelo nodded her head side to side nonchalantly. Agreed indeed. The young female smiled rather genuinely, it was enjoyable having this little runt around. Perhaps she should have tried this 'meeting friends' thing a little earlier. Oh well, c'est la vie! At his response, his spilling of his secret, Kilelo couldn't help but to laugh.

"Bili, are you serious!? You had me worried, I though you were some young convict on the run... Though you really don't seem like it. Haha! That's not even so completely tragic, little buddy! Amusing, even."

The skeletal female laughed again, shaking her head. Boy, he'd really had her going on some kind of tangent there. It just sounded like a prank a little brother would play on his sister, not a secret that someone would hold so close. But, she assumed, he was young, and his imagination was wild. Kilelo smiled smugly,

"Yes, Bili, comepletely satisfied, you know."

He gave her a look that said 'maybe, maybe not you decide'. "For all you know I could be." He had a glint in his eye before moving to circle her again. He moved to keep his mind off of the laughter that threatened to erupt from his maw. He wanted her to think he was serious, for now, he would laugh later. So he had to keep this laughter down.

He eyed her carefully as he moved, like he was plotting, which he wasn't. It was hard for him not to smile now, the urge was so great but he was holding out. Barely, but still holding out. Just a little bit longer was all he had to wait. Hopefully at least. It wasn't good to keep from smiling when you wanted to and from laughing too.

"Good." He responded quickly with a nod. "Is there anything else you're just dying to know?" He inquired with an arched brow

There was a taunting smile in Kilelo's odd eyes. He shouldn't flatter himself so, a little pipsqueak couldn't pull off being a convict. He was much too little, much too... inexperienced. She figured anyways. But, being a trickster, that he could pull off excellently, espcially with other cubs and adults. Those that would buy into that innocent little face he put on. She wasn't that naive. It was a good thing.

"Well then I sure am taking a risk associating with you, aren't I?"

Kilelo grinned, indulging him on this little tale. It was an amusing though. As she watched him intently, her eyes narrowed in an intense gaze, trying to see into him. Kabili's eyes danced, whatever he was holding in, it was amusing to the little fella. To his question, she nodded, her answer curt and meaningful,

"What you're thinking. I want to know if you'll be honest with me."
PostPosted: Sat Oct 20, 2007 5:57 pm

He shrugged. "That depends on how much you decide to associate with me." He replied slyly raising a brow up and down before letting out a laugh. "Then again, I haven't been caught so maybe you aren't at risk at all."

She could be or she couldn't be it was all up to her to decide if she was or wasn't. "Do you still want to take that risk?" This whole day just felt like one big game to him, or had at first before he stumbled to her, wait it was the other way around, she had stumbled on to him. That's how this had all started. It still felt like a bit of a game and a bit of real life. He liked the mixture, it felt....interesting to say the least.

"I'm thinking how this day started out as a game to me then twisted back into reality when I met you. And yes I'm being completely honest." Kabili replied grinning like he was still hiding something from her but he wasn't, or at least he had nothing that he was purposely trying to hide now.

"Since you know a bit about me why don't you tell me about yourself?" He asked curious to know more about this female that had seen through his ways so easily.

"I suppose we can be friends."

Kilelo replicated Kabili's tone as she spoke, smirking coyly. With a rough exhale, she shook her head, not exactly sure what he was so worried about being caught for. Not like she was going to tell anyone. Hell, she didn't even know who his family was. Besides, Kilelo was an excellent confidant; a very tight lipped creature. Her bi colored eyes looked to the cub sternly,

"Yes. Yes I am."

The gaunt female smiled lightly as Kabili mentioned his perspective of the day. For her, it was a bit of the opposite. She'd been firm in reality, and once she found this little cub they engaged with this little guessing game. It was amusing, she supposed. Slowly, she was starting to trust him. Slowly.

"About me, huh? Well, my mother was Isahara, but really, I can't tell you anything about her, or my father, I didn't know him. I have two other sisters, my age, and some other siblings wandering around else where, I hear. Either way, my mother died a few months ago. Well, didn't die, she was murdered. By her own son, no less. Just watch, Bili, I'll get him, someday. I'm going to find him, make him pay."
