Reality. Online. Actually, Tommy and I were just talking about this very topic not two weeks ago....

Leavaros
Isles of the Blest, Helmorana, not Elysian Islands. If I remember correctly.
-LD

I'm lost on English expressions sometimes, in most of my books they're the "Elizejski otoki" - direct translation being Elysian Islands. "Otoki blaženih" - Islands of the Blessed, is used merely as a descriptive synonym. It could be different in English, beats me.

Leavaros
Gods and men, Helmorana, what's the matter with you? I reread her post--twice, actually--and I didn't find a single thing out of place with her words or the way they were presented.

Maybe I'm biased because Tommy's my friend, but even so, there's no reason to be mean-spirited.
-LD

The original intention wasn't to be mean spirited, actually the only thing that could possibly be taken as an insult was the use of "inter-cultural". The use of which I explained in my next post. Everything else was just pointing out another thought or error, and wondering about the logistics.

Leavaros
Yes, Maggie, but there is a proper way of going about it. Human decency I think they call it. Vix is living up to her screenname here, there's no doubting that.
-LD

I was never one to sugar coat anything, unless it was a really extremely special situation. I think people should be able to take an honest thought. And I'm one of those people who want to hear the insults in her face and the good things behind their back. I prefer brutal honesty to beating around the bush.

But like I said, there weren't any insults in the original post and the following post was just an argumented response explaining the reasons behind my first post, which I think I made it very clear were subjective.

And on a side note, thank you, I was beginning to wonder if I chose that name well. blaugh

As for reality online, it's actually a really popular thing study in Sociology. Interesting too, especially with Second Life, now.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but if I was in the market for a pantheon to die in, I'd skip the Norse one, if I were you. Shouldn't be a problem, since you're so open to inter-cultural realities, skipping from one to the other.

This came off as extremely arrogant to me.
Like... Really arrogant.

I don't think it's your place to be disowning other's beliefs. Even if you don't belive them yourself, that's your oppinion.

Let me bold out some things.

The other part could be interpreted rudely, and I apologised, if you happened to miss that part. But you got it wrong, I wasn't disowning her or anyone else's belief. I was merely pointing out the diversity in it. Or does believing in several pantheons at the same time come off as an insult to you?

Or am I offending you again? Remind me not to summarise or comment next time, hearing the same thing paraphrased is apparently arrogant. Trust me, I'm not arrogant at the moment, I can be, but that wasn't it.

I believe in all... everything exists in one Realm or another... in states of being... even in imaginations.

And yet, can we as mortals fathom nothingness? Or imagine anything of consequence?

I BELIEVE IN KARMA WHAT YOU GIVE IS WHAT YOU GET RETURNED
I BELIEVE YOU CAN'T APPR - okay done now.

My opinions on stuff that's been brought up.

- Reincarnation. I believe in a place of rest between lives. Calm. I don't believe souls have species. I just believe past lives leave imprints that are sometimes noticably different.
- I try not to mix pantheons, it seems a bit... iffy. Bast doesn't seem to like Cernunnos. That being said, I don't deal with deities much. I deal with myself and the earth.
- Okay, I do believe in karma. Though not as strict as the law of three.

What I believe.. what I believe..

It's all a bit hazy for me still, but I know for fact, and believe in strongly Mari, my Goddess of water. Because things are still questionable to me, I'm not entirely sure if she is my one true mother Goddess figure, but it's beginning to appear as though she is. Which, I humbly present myself to her as Siahnon, her Daughter of the River. As for a God figure... I'm beginning to feel very strongly towards Anubis. Just that "feeling" you know? You just feel like something relevant is there and you can't ignore it. But I've never worked with the God, nor any Gods besides my faceless two parentals, and my own Mari.

I seem to focus more purely on the elements as they are and how they effect me and my life, not so much visualizing them in rituals (which, I've only truely had one.)

I can't say I truely believe in the Law of Three, but I do believe that it exists (if that makes any sence. Like, if I ever look back on my life and come to realize something to its nature has happened, then its tangible proof).

I believe in fate, and also changing out destiny's. Every day we are faced with decisions; one choice will lead us down one path, and the other choice will lead us down another. The paths we go down each have different fated occurances and the like, and each can be read/saw. Likewise, I believe in palm readings, or any form of telling the future.

My dreams are extremely spiritual and important to me. Everynight I'll dream something, but my selective memory only allows me remember certain things. This I believe is significant; I'll only remember things that are important. Sometimes they don't make sence, but I'm sure they mean something. (Like two nights ago, I only remembered the scene and dialogue which was "Do you best to stay away from snails. They are very judgemental creatures. They step aside to watch us, and judge us harshly. It's dangerous.")

I believe strongly in other relms. There isn't much more I can say about that. x3

My beliefs eh?...well.

The triple goddess, and double god. I have a lot of affection to Gaia and Isis, and....not a lot for many of the gods i know of....But i most deneftly follow Gaia. I have a big belief in the reincarnation from animals thing, i think it's a Hindu belief. I also believe that every myth in some way shape or form is true.

it's hard for me to write down my beliefs so sorry it this was confusing
