Yay, we get to post. :3
So, I have soooomething of an idea... Obviously you all are allowed to tell me to go STFU, n00b if you don't like, just thought I'd toss it out there. <3
My first thought when I read about this event was that theming a room after an Edgar Allen Poe story would be AWESOME. Namely, the 'The Masque of the Red Death'. If you haven't read it, here it is. <3 Horror this way! 8D Basically, I thought it'd be more than nifty if we could get some banners to edge the front posts that suggest a ball room, and I know we all have writing talent, so detailed descriptions of the room and such would be awesome. And some of us- not myself, of course- have art talent, so masquerade masks, or even some Empyreans dressed up to welcome those who dare to enter the room would be awesome images to have.
It's not a very developed idea, but those are my thoughts. ^^

*nods* totally! And beyond having each post on the front page being themed like one of the rooms in Poe's story, we could have a costume requirement. Like everyone arrives in costume. There could be something like trivia to figure out who's behind the masks, or a prty room at the end where people can have punch and stuff, or grab bags (that could open on hallowe'en?)

*shoots out ideas and hopes not to ping anyone in the eye*

oooooh! Good idea! A Masquerade would be really neat.

Each post could be another 'room' in a maze - with trivia and frights in each room. A haunted masquerade with a party room at the out sounds great. As do the grab bags!

I'll make masks if anyone wants. Maybe banners. I can't do too much - it's coming up on midterms for me and I've HUGE load of things to get done but I can make a few masks and banners. *nodnod*

I'll see if I can think of a idea or two to add to your guys'. x3

Awesome! I can do banners to some extent, but I think the only way I could really help is organizing everything/typing up story bits. I have little to no art skills, as everyone probably learned during the last event. XD I really like the idea of everyone trying to guess who is who based on little hints. Maybe each post has a different Empyrean or two that happen to be responsible for that post, and there are clues scattered through out the description, or images, that hint at who did the room? Also, grab bags could be nifty! <3

I have art skills, to a degree, and I'd be happy to help make banners and masks, as well as toss in some of my writing skills. :3 I really, really like the sound of this idea.

Well, I'd be willing to draw up each of the Empyreans in costume for the posts. They won't be in colour, so that'll help make the disguises harder to guess.

Graph, if you wanna type up the colour descriptions from Poe's story as the descriptions for the room's decor, we can get banners and text editing to theme each post, and I'll draw up a couple of empyr lines for each post as the "hosts" of that part of the Sanguine room.

Skie, if you wanna take charge over the Grab bag, make a limited edition item or something, such as a mask or something to open up on Hallowe'en day?

Alche, maybe you can work on a list of the Sanguine Empyrs, and what sorts of costumes we could have with what sort of hints they'd have to their persons?

*salutes* Aye-aye, captain! I can do that while I'm off camping this weekend. I should be back by Sunday afternoon, my time, though. <3

Okay, so, here are the bits that describe the rooms and such. There are seven, so we know what we can do with at least seven of the front pages. *laughs* If anyone is fond of a particular color, go ahead and claim it. I figure banners and the like can be made to go with the colors of the room. I do, however, request that I get to type up the description for the seventh room, if no one has any objections to that. <3

It was a voluptuous scene, that masquerade. But first let me tell of the rooms in which it was held. There were seven — an imperial suite. In many palaces, however, such suites form a long and straight vista, while the folding doors slide back nearly to the walls on either hand, so that the view of the whole extent is scarcely impeded. Here the case was very different; as might have been expected from the duke's love of the bizarre. The apartments were so irregularly disposed that the vision embraced but little more than one at a time. There was a sharp turn at every twenty or thirty yards, and at each turn a novel effect. To the right and left, in the middle of each wall, a tall and narrow Gothic window looked out upon a closed corridor which pursued the windings of the suite. These windows were of stained glass whose color varied in accordance with the prevailing hue of the decorations of the chamber into which it opened. That at the eastern extremity was hung, for example, in blue — and vividly blue were its windows. The second chamber was purple in its ornaments and tapestries, and here the panes were purple. The third was green throughout, and so were the casements. The fourth was furnished and lighted with orange — the fifth with white — the sixth with violet. The seventh apartment was closely shrouded in black velvet tapestries that hung all over the ceiling and down the walls, falling in heavy folds upon a carpet of the same material and hue. But in this chamber only, the color of the windows failed to correspond with the decorations. The panes here were scarlet — a deep blood color. Now in no one of the seven apartments was there any lamp or candelabrum, amid the profusion of golden ornaments that lay scattered to and fro or depended from the roof. There was no light of any kind emanating from lamp or candle within the suite of chambers. But in the corridors that followed the suite, there stood, opposite to each window, a heavy tripod, bearing a brazier of fire, that projected its rays through the tinted glass and so glaringly illumined the room. And thus were produced a multitude of gaudy and fantastic appearances. But in the western or black chamber the effect of the fire-light that streamed upon the dark hangings through the blood-tinted panes, was ghastly in the extreme, and produced so wild a look upon the countenances of those who entered, that there were few of the company bold enough to set foot within its precincts at all.

It was in this apartment, also, that there stood against the western wall, a gigantic clock of ebony.

The tastes of the duke were peculiar. He had a fine eye for colors and effects. He disregarded the decora of mere fashion. His plans were bold and fiery, and his conceptions glowed with barbaric lustre.

and it was his own guiding taste which had given character to the masqueraders. Be sure they were grotesque. There were much glare and glitter and piquancy and phantasm — much of what has been since seen in "Hernani." There were arabesque figures with unsuited limbs and appointments. There were delirious fancies such as the madman fashions. There were much of the beautiful, much of the wanton, much of the bizarre, something of the terrible, and not a little of that which might have excited disgust. To and fro in the seven chambers there stalked, in fact, a multitude of dreams. And these — the dreams — writhed in and about, taking hue from the rooms, and causing the wild music of the orchestra to seem as the echo of their steps. And, anon, there strikes the ebony clock which stands in the hall of the velvet. And then, for a moment, all is still, and all is silent save the voice of the clock. The dreams are stiff-frozen as they stand. But the echoes of the chime die away — they have endured but an instant — and a light, half-subdued laughter floats after them as they depart. And now again the music swells, and the dreams live, and writhe to and fro more merrily than ever, taking hue from the many tinted windows through which stream the rays from the tripods. But to the chamber which lies most westwardly of the seven, there are now none of the maskers who venture; for the night is waning away; and there flows a ruddier light through the blood-colored panes; and the blackness of the sable drapery appals; and to him whose foot falls upon the sable carpet, there comes from the near clock of ebony a muffled peal more solemnly emphatic than any which reaches their ears who indulge in the more remote gaieties of the other apartments.

I know it's a lot of info, but I didn't want to cut anything out. I quickly skimmed over the story, and these were the bits that went into detailed description of what the rooms and masques look like. I didn't include the description of Death, because I didn't know if we'd be including that part, though I think it'd be cool is one of the Sanguines- one who doesn't get assigned to a room- could play Death?

Cyphr wants the Orange room.

also, perhaps the typs of costumers and theme of music in the rooms could be broken up into the descriptions in the second part. ie, some filled with beauty, some with the bizarre, some with the wanton...

Cyphr's will be distorted and bizarre, very Nightmare before Christmas in its distortion. His is going to be a pumpkin land, man...all full of demented jack-o-lanterns and wrapping vines...

As the Prophecy says:
I have an idea for Cyphr's thingie
Warumono Doll says:
Oh yeah? <3
As the Prophecy says:
I'mma make an image in paint or photoshop or something that will be hosted so people can download it
As the Prophecy says:
and it'll be a choice of two pumpkin shapes on a cert-like background
As the Prophecy says:
and in paint people can use the Shape tools to make faces on their pumpkins to make Jack o Lanterns

Okay, so... A tentative list of what's going on, that I can edit. :3

1st Post-
2nd Post- Blue Room
3rd Post- Blue Room Activity - Mathiaz
- Possibly a circus?
4th Post- Purple Room
5th Post- Purple Room Activity - Jakov
6th Post- Green Room
7th Post- Green Room Activity - Kallisto
- The Green Room will be done up like the laboratory of a made scientist, and her activity will be a deliciously macabre feast.
8th Post- Orange Room
9th Post- Orange Room Activity - Cyphr
- Cyphr's activity will be all the visitors in his room being able to make Jack-o-Lantern's.
10th Post- White Room
11th Post- White Room Activity - Lior
12th Post- Violet Room
13th Post- Violet Room Activity - Insert Names Here
14th Post- Black and Scarlet Room
15th Post- Black and Scarlet Room Activity - Antigone
- The activity here will be to guess who is the host of what room!

Here's a list of all the Sanguine Empyreans. I'll but a little astrisk in the color of the room they're assigned to, once they are assigned. <3

Kallisto
*
Cyphr
*
Jala
Jakov
*
Allureyan
Mathiaz
*
Arron
Fenna
Lior
*
Antigone *
Drokk

Just go ahead and post up where you want your Empyrean to be! There needs to be at least one Empyrean per room. A few have already chosen their colors, but feel free to ask to double up once all the rooms are taken. :3 Also, feel more than free to suggest for other rooms. I know I could use the help. *laughs*

oh hey, manda...can you make colour themed banners
like a Welcome Header
and then two banners for each of the 7 colours. the first of each colour set would have it's text left aligned ie The Azure Chamber... and the second would be right aligned ir ...Enter the Wonder or whatever. the specific text and theme will need to be sorted out...

something like:
Wonder (azure)
Terrible (sable)
Whimsical (violet)
Fantasy (white)
Disgusting (green)
Beautiful (purple)
Bizarre (Orange)
???

I like the terrible for the Black Room, since that's the one that Death enters into, in the story. I figure the rest should be up to those who end up being in the room? Those aren't bad suggestions, though. <3
