The tiny ears of a fox kit perked as the howl of a lupine reached him. The wind had carried the sound over but from what he could smell the howler wasn't too far. The fox wormed his way out of a hole he dug and snuffled about with his head high in the air; testing the winds for which way to go. The scent was vaugely familiar. He took to the scent and followed it to from where the wind had taken it. None to his surprise; a wolf laid meekly in this snow. Nothing new; he had only been seeing wolves about. Makes one fox lonely at times; no one to talk too. What did surprise him though was that this wolf was one he already knew; a nameless (to him that is), purple wolf that had been none to kind to him in the past. He lowered himself onto his haunches; only sitting a few feet from the female and yipped.

The wolf turned her crania towards the yip. Noke's glowing amber orbs focused on the fox. They narrowed slightly then turned away. But instead stared out into the white wonder that laid out before her. She continued to lay there her thoughts returned to her lost friends. Gizmo, Kamila.... She cared for those two, so much. It broke her heart that there was a giant possibility she'd never see them again.

The kit spoke no wolf; but he could tell something was bothering this wolf. She seemed... distant. Last time they met she was quite jumpy and the like but apparently things had changed. He turned his aqua gaze to the snow the purple wolf was looking at and saw nothing. With a shrug and a burst of confidence; the kit padded his way closer to the wolf; circling his way in closer to her. Soon he was close; so close that he could touch her with his nose.... So he did. He slowly stuck his nose out and kindly nudged the back that was turned to him. His eyes were shut tight; if he was to be lashed out at he'd rather not see it.

Noke felt the warm touch of the fox. She turned towards the fox, her amber eyes were calm as she looked down at him. A faint smile came to her as she gave the fox a friendly lick. She looked at him and wandered what brought the fox out from it's den? Monenoke looked back out into the dephts of the forest for awhile then spoke knowing that he probably wouldn't understand. "Their gone, you know."

As the wolf's maw neared him; Conroy winced. He thought he was going to be chomped on so it was a pleasant surprise as the wolf actually licked him. A faint smile rose to his jowls and then developed into a childish grin. He still didn't know what was bothering this wolf. She seemed to get lost in her staring into space. His aqua eyes squinted as he stared into the forest; trying to see what she was seeing but with no avail. He heard her murmur something. Of course he didn't understand but he nodded his small head any ways. He couldn't understand a word but he'd sit there and listen for the time being.

She did see out of her amber orbs that he did wince she smiled a bit. "Don't worry m'friend I wouldn't hurt you." She said still staring out. After several more seconds she spoke again. "I never got to say goodbye to Gizmo. Remember the pup that you scared." She said before blinking once or twice.

The orange kit blinks in his confusion but keeps on grinning,
"If you say so Ms. Wolf..."
His little brow furrows and his ears perk forward as he leans closer to the wolf in an attempt to understand but still nothing came. He wondered if other foxes could understand wolven and maybe he was just stupid. His ears fell flat against his head; he hoped he wasn't stupid.

She turned to see his blank expression which told her he didn't understand. She grined and used her paw to point to herself. "Noke..." She paused again. "I'm Noke..." She looked to see if he understood that, she would've said Monenoke other then she feared he wouldn't understand.

((Sorry I had to get off yesterday. I was FORCED to study for finals xD))
Conroy titled his head to the side as he processed the information. Whatever the wolf had just said had been an introduction. He blinked and listened hard. The sound she had made was short and simple; maybe he'd try to say it too. His foxy vocal cords straining to reproduce the sound. After a few trys he had it about right,
"Well this is strange..... N-Nnnnnnoke, Noke!"
Haha! Take that nature. He had done, he had just spoken wolf! How vaugely thrilling. Out of all things 'Noke' had been his first word. His turn to try. He pointed a brown paw at himself and flashed a big grin,
"Con-roy"

Noke smiled seeing that he understood. She nodded once he got the nickname pronounced. Then she quietly watched as he did the same she frowned at the name. "Con.....roy" She said then said, "Conroy." Her smile weakened and slowly dissapeared. She looked out back into the desolate woods then looked back at Conroy.
"It's too quiet, don't you think?"

Conroy gasped in his amazement. This wolf was a bright one! He had understood that, woot his name! His blue eyes lit up in his joy as he nodded furiously. He didn't understand her next words though but that didn't matter. She seemed lonely so maybe she was commenting about beinging alone?
"There, there Noke good 'ol Conroy's here, no need to feel alone!"

( Monenoke: -reads the post- .___.; )
Noke knew that she shouldn't feel lonely, especialy with her new pack. Akui and Nyx, they were more of a family to her then ever before. But she still felt an emptiness due to the loss of her pup friends. Her audits twitched listening to his next words, the only words she could decipher was Noke and Conroy. She smiled and then got up from her belly. She pointed with her nose to a stray trail. "Mind if we take a walk?" She said pointing to the trail once again so he might understand.

Conroy sat quietly as Noke thought on whatever it was wolves thought on. He didn't want to be the usual pest he was. She sniffled slightly and fidgeted around for a while when he heard Noke talk again. He looked up to her just as she pointed toward the trail. To take a walk possibly? He nodded happily and yipped,
"Sure Noke! Sounds nice"
He loved saying her name: Noke Noke Noke, he could say it all day. How nice it was to know a new language.

Apparently he agreed, she decided listening to him yip and smile. Her pads slowly walked through the snow letting it chrunch und'r her feet. Her tail wagged behind her as she walked careful to make sure that he could follow at her pace. For the most part her pace was slow for the wound on her shoulder was still fresh. She was slightly hungry, wondering if she could go find something to catch without disturbing her friend, Conroy, here.

Conroy smiled and followed along. He hopped in the rather large paw prints of the wolf. He could almost fit four paws into one of hers which amused him greatly. He panted and he went along. After a while the kit's blue eyes fell upon the wound on Noke's shoulder. He frowned and motioned to it with his nose,
"What happened?"
Speaking of hungry..... Conroy was always hungry; foxes were barely ever full and he'd help to hunt if need push came to shove. His tummy growled quietly hinting at his state of slight famishment. He licked his chops; grinned; and pawed on.
