Chui grumbled, slightly disgruntled by the sudden insults directed at his innocent self. Had Zani been in control, they would've been arguing by now. But Chui gulped and pushed the comments to the back of his mind, stepping forward in order to see who he was talking to. Salmon eyes landed on a white form slightly to his left. She didn't look like anything he'd ever seen before...granted, he'd never seen a lot of things before. This was just one of those things.
"Hi," he said half nervous, half excited. "I'm Chui...and you must be...uhh..Duma?"

Duma was usually a whiner, and wanted the attention, but leopards? Well, she wasn't exactly a leopard or a lion, and dealing with the pure forms of herself made her nervous, usually they didn't know what she was.
"Hi, Chui, yes, I'm Duma. Aunti Looney Bird said we could play, but I promise I don't need help making friends?" she softened up a bit, "What do you think we should play? I like to climb trees?"

The young leopard smiled slightly, glad to see that despite the initial bad mood of his prospective new friend, she could still be nice. He approached her in a friendly trot, stopping just in front of her. "I've never climbed a tree before." he said admittedly. "I've always been out in the open," he explained. "Not many trees out there."
He laughed a little and went up to a tree. "But...I like new things." And for the first time in his life, he tried his paw at climbing. To his delight, he seemed to have a natural affinity for it, and he managed to get to a low branch with more ease than any beginner could hope for, though it did prove a slight challenge. He looked down at Duma with bright salmon pink eyes.
"C'mon!"

To Ajlai's delight Duma and the little one seemed to be getting along well, the mocha colored leopardess grinned outwardly as well as in at the thought that her Duma would make friends, she didn't seem to fit in anywhere that the "looney bird" auntie could see and it meant a great deal to her to see the Mleli clone adapt well to the new environment.
"Good girl," Ajali whispered out of earshot of the two new friends.
Duma made a low grunting noise, one that was much more friendly than previous noises and she even flashed a smile to Chui. Her blue eyes following him as he started to climb the tree and she was delighted that at his first time climbing he was doing so well.
"You're good, but you wouldn't make it up our tree at home," Duma then made a noise that was a rarity or her, she giggled. Taking a running start towards the tree she jumped her claws digging into the thick bark. She climbed with ease up to the branch he was on and smiled, "See, I'm a great climber!" Duma was naturally whiny and reclusive, but the thought of showing off what she thought was 'skills' made her happy.

Chui laughed, clearly enjoying himself and his new found ability. It felt like a part of him that he'd finally found after all this time of...well, existing. But it wasn't his fault he'd never even been near a tree before, let alone think about climbing one. The young leopard ventured further up the tree, slipping once or twice, but recovering just in time. He made it up to a higher branch, and looked back down at Duma.
"Hey, let's race to the top!" he said carelessly, scurrying to climb even higher than where he already was. Being new to the whole thing, he had yet to find his limitations...as well as the fact that he'd already passed his -- the second branch he'd climbed to. Still, he went up even further, oblivious to the danger he was putting himself in.

"Alriiiight," the whine edged into her voice, "One...twoooo...three, go!" she pretended to start allowing him to get a head start if he wanted to beat her. Her blue eyes danced with laughter as she started to climb slowly placing one white and cream paw out in front of her at a time and digging her claws in. She would let him win, only because he was little and that was that.
"I bet you I win!" She shouted playfully and pretended to speed up.

Chui was nearing the top now, still decidedly not looking down. He really wanted to win, so when he got as close as he could get, he looked down with a smile at Duma...er, sort of. By now she a significantly smaller figure since he was so high up, and he gulped down his nervousness.
"Uhm...Duma..." he said with a quiver in his voice. "H...how do I get down?"
The juve attempted to take a step down where he was, eyes shut tight and silently preying to whatever higher beings existed that he wouldn't fall to an early grave. So he began his descent, eyes only opening to find where he should put his paw next on his way down.
Of course, he'd heard her earlier challenge. And as he went down he called, "And Duma...I..q-quit. You win...."

"You're fine you big baby. You just climb backwards." She answered as she raced behind him. She started to move down climbing away from him and demonstrating at the same time.
"I should go," she said nervously, "Umm..I think I hear Auntie Looney Bird calling me, you umm..take care.." she didn't wait for him to climb down to the earth, she jumped the rest of the way and skittered off into the tree line away from the little leopard. She told Ajali she didn't want to make friends, but nooo...She did not like the idea of making friends and ontop of that Ajali found her BABIES for friends.
"Later squirt," she grunted and did not look back.

"B..bye..." the juve stuttered, taking his sweet time with getting down the tree. Of course, he was going much slower than he probably would if he actually opened his eyes. But...well, he was pretty freaked out with how high he'd been earlier. So when he felt his feet finally touch the ground, his eyes went wide open, and he looked down finally.
Relief washed over him and he had to keep himself from kissing the earth. Instead, he chose to lay down on it and roll around, laughing and loudly thanking the gods that he got down safely.
Silly juve...
