((>D why not page 4 as well? *will probably do up to 10 or something*))

((edit: >D Page 4))

Tahja Estes
"I don't know," He replied honestly, backtracking a bit and bowing forward some, getting fully into their game.

His tail was in full motion. Why was it that the lighthearted attitudes of his pack were so contagious? Anytime he saw Thayne, or Loki enjoying themselves he felt compelled to disregaurd his lazy subconcience and join in? "I don't know how far we'll go, as far as the herds! I'm sure if we have to go far enough we'll rest, though. They wouldn't push the pups that hard."

Yeah, that's true. They had delayed going when he was still young because of his size.

"I've only moved before when I found my way here, and that was more like stumbling around, I guess." Hige mused.

Stormy Hound
Loki wuffed in understandment. Yes, the only time I've ever moved was.. well, coming here from my old pack. Which for me, too, was just kind of rambling around aimlessly looking for water mostly. She turned suddenly and pounced him, giving a short howl.

Tahja Estes
"Yeah, pretty- ACK!!" FWUMP.

Okay, xd THAT came out of left field!

Hige fell to his side and 'mrrr'ed indignantly-but good naturedly -at being suddenly up-ended. XD

The pack kept moving, but it was okay if they stopped for just a few seconds, they could catch up easily with a run. "Why you sneaky-!"

Another 'rowr'ing sound emitted from Hige's throat as he pushed up to his paws again and butted against her shoulder playfully.

Stormy Hound
Loki mrrr'd back at him, snuffling at his neck, then hopping off to bound around him closely giving small yips. Me, sneaky? You should aaalways be on your guard! she protested mockingly. What if I was an angry moose or something. grinning playfully, she snuffed snow on him.

Tahja Estes
Hige chuckled, tickled by the attention to his neck, and squirmed a bit away laughing. He grinned as he took a step back to watch her bound a circle around him. "Then I'd be in some serious-" Fwump. He took the snow right in the face, as he'd choosen to duck his head at that moment. "..." The blanket scattered as Hige shook it away, and he smirked at Loki before he ducked lower into a pre-pounce crouch. "You seem to like playing it dangererous." He wraggled his brow suggestively.

Stormy Hound
She extended a paw and whiped remaining snow from his cute nose. She laughed as she danced, hopping side to side in front of him. She was having fun, and lots of it, but suddenly she realized the pack was farther ahead than they perhaps meant to let them get. We should catch up? she questioned, with a grin.

Tahja Estes
"Probably..." He drolled, eyes not leaving her once despite her energetic movements. Hige was smirking still, going crosseyed as the snow was wiped from his muzzle. He pushed his nose against her paw and straightened a bit. "but first..."

With a dramatic sweep of his tail he returned the favor, dusting the female with a light blanket of snow before laughing and bounding ahead. He slowed to a stop and looked back, ears twitching, and eyes laughing.

"Just a little payback," He smirked, tail wagging.

Stormy Hound
She laughed and shook the snow from her face and head as she watched him bound ahead of her. She readied herself to run, and took off in his direction, and the direction of the pack.

shia-san
((i'm able to get on for a moment or so, thank you zero for catching me up! ^^ hopefully i can get back on later in the afternoon, but if i dont get too, i hope you wont mind continueing zero, if you dont want to i understand 3nodding ))

soul moved about Aoiko. her ears flicking back in nervousness. her tail swishing about. 'Aoiko, are you ready to move?' she said with a c**k of her head. she smiled to him though, and looked to Selia and Devvyl. her fear grew, as she waited a while...for them to move out, so she could follow with Aoiko.

Tahja Estes
It wasn't too long before Hige and Loki finally caught up to the group. He ran alongside her, only slowing to match the pack's pace.

Tahja Estes
((*pokes everyone* XD Bah, to real life! Bah!))

They were bringing up the end of the pack now, walking along side by side. Hm... how long would it be indeed, until they found new territory? Was it just a few days travel, or a few hours?

As they walked along he found himself staring at her from the corners of his eyes, then eventually he wasn't even paying attention to where he walked anymore. What happened next was inevitable and actually amusing.

SMACK!

A soft whump and a startled yelp blanketed the immediate area. Hige had just walked right into a tree, and gotten himself covered with snow piled on a now bare branch.

Wha- oh GREAT, THAT sure as hell was a way to impress a female, oh, and the rest of the pack probably thought he was a genius too after that move. He almost considered not coming out....

Stormy Hound
After wiping the look of sheer amusement and surprise off her face, Loki half-rushed to the mound of snow. "Are you ok Hige??" she asked sounding concerned. She stifled another giggle and forced herself to regain composure before gently digging at the snow. Upon un-burying him, she smiled lovingly "Awwh, you poor thing." she mrrr'd and snuffled snow from the top of his head.

Tahja Estes
"Yeah..." Came his muffled reply. "Nothing injured but my dignity." He mused weakly as she dug him out.

With a soft whine from the cold he pulled himself the rest of the way free, shivering slightly under his coat.

"That stuff is freezing!"

((#5 comin' up! ^^))

((edit: >D pg 5 here! <3))

Stormy Hound
She smiled at this. "I don't care much for the dignified type anyway" she grinned, pointing him back in the direction of the pack. "Stuffy old males and whatnot, hehe" she mused as she walked along with him, the sounds of playing pups in her ears and the smell of so many different wolves slowely becoming familiar in her nose.

Tahja Estes

Hige's maw was hanging open a bit, staring after her, it took him a second for that to click. He hurriedly snapped his jaws shut again careful of his tongue. "Soooo.... What type DO you care for?" Muwahahaha.... ".... mine?" He fgrit his teeth and waited for her retort. He could barely keep a grin off of his face.

Stormy Hound
Grinning, Loki answered "Oh I dunno, I like a playful type, not afraid to defend his mate if need be, but also kinda lazy like me. Oh, oh, and he's absolutely GOT to love late midnight runs in the forest or by the river" she continued. "And he's just got to be sweet and caring. If I feel down I want him to notice." she smiled and looked at him, keeping the corner of her eye on the path they walked. "What about you?"

Tahja Estes

"Me? Hm..."

He chuckled, surprised she had answered so honestly, and truthfully he was quite pleased. It was only polite to return the favor!

"Someone with weird sleeping habits... not afraid to have a good time, but she has to be able to appreciate lying around basking in sun and moonlight too."

He shook the last bit of snow from his tail with a twitch of the limb.

"I need a mate that can tolerate my constant flirting, and I'd be selfish when it came to her attention..."

He smirked.

"... isn't afraid to lean on me if she needs to. I think she'd have to be able to deal with being treated like a leaf when that happens." ((Since I DON'T think wolves are familiar with glass, XD *lol*))

Hige was well aware that she was watching him discreetly, and he fought to keep his eyes ahead so they wouldn't run into anymore trees or get seperated from the others... He realized he was going on, so he wound down his reply.

"She can't be afraid to give me an ego check, now and then, too. I don't know, someone like you." He grinned a bit over at her.

Stormy Hound
"Someone like you."

At this she became extremely overjoyed and flustered, enough so as to not see the root in front of her.

"Oooph" she grunted, tripping head over paws.

Why oh why did she have to be so clumbsy at the times when elegance and poise might be needed? she thought to herself. She looked up and him, a sincere smile across her maw. "Like me?" she asked, even though she was quite sure of the answer.

Tahja Estes
Another small bout of laughter sounded, but only after he was sure she wasn't hurt. Hige ducked his head and nudged her, then licked at her face a bit in an open show of affection. It was hard to believe that they had 'come this far' so soon, but none the less this was how he felt. He didn't care if Fae came after him himself, he'd fight to keep Loki with the pack, and with him. She seemed so much more happy now than when they'd first met. "To be honest, I'd rather not settle for just a likeness." He smirked.

Stormy Hound
Loki smiled, returning the affection. She made her way to her feet and shook off the bits of dirt and snow that she had accumulated. Being her normally strange self, she replied. "So you'd rather have more of a loveness?"

Tahja Estes
He chuckled again, obviously in higher spirits if that was possible, but urged them on lest they fall behind again. "I guess I do! So does that mean you accept?..."

Stormy Hound
Loki sped up to keep speed with him. All kinds of thoughts rushed through her mind, there was no point valid enough to keep her from rejecting him. "Yes. I accept" she said solemnly, and took a moment to gaze into his amber eyes.

Zero Dream
"...Yes." He said. His nervousness showed in his voice, more than he wanted... damnit. "Everything'lld be fine, mom. Im ready if you are."

Tahja Estes
~Stay with me, Loki.~ A soft but firm wuff answered her, and he turned his head enough to look back at her, eye meeting eye. "It's nice to know that we're on the same path." He said scincerely, keeping close to her as they moved.

Tweek
A soft snort was heard. Elphaba stood, the warm fog of her breath curling out her nostrils like the smoke of a dragon, her maw curled up in a smile. The brown coated female had registered two wolves falling behind and after they failed to appear the Beta'd doubled back to check on them.

"Hey, stragglers," She said gruffly, though with good humor. She had held back awkwardly at least until they let their feelings out, though she'd never admit she stood watching them, shaking her head at their good fortune. Now why can't we all fall in love with those who will..love us back?

"Hate to interrupt, you two, but you're falling a little behind," Elphie smiled, glancing over the two. She'd seen Hige as a pup but never this other female..

Tahja Estes
Elphaba's scent suddenly tickling his nose caused Hige to lift his head again. They had... fallen behind again! He shot the older female a sheepish if not apologetic look. "Sorry, Elphaba,"

He shot a small grin at Loki, nudged her lightly, and the two headed towards the beta.

"I guess we got a little side-tracked?"

Stormy Hound
Loki followed Hige closer. In any other situation she wouldn't have approached the beta closer than she already was. "Sorry for falling behind" she grinned sheepishly.

shia-san
soul smiled gently to Aoiko. her eyes bright as day. 'of coarse...' she nodded, then stood, in an energetic motion, and was ready now to move....

((*squeel* back for another moment >>))

((alright, i'm also going to add #'s 6,7, and 8 onto this post only because i am taking to many posts ;.; ))

((EDITEDIT: Pg 6))

Tweek
Elphaba cocked her ears cheekily. "No harm done," She barked briskly and gave her coat a shake, sending a small flurry of powder into the air. The flakes had gotten larger since the journey began and the ground was slowly being covered in white. The sight of everything transforming into a landscape so pristine, so surreal, put Elphie in a great mood. She wagged her gently, a brown brush riddled with tan. "Don't believe I've met your friend before, Hige." Her glass green eyes glanced over the female. "What are you called?"

Stormy Hound
Loki bowed gracefully, this time without tripping or falling or anything. She too noticed the beauty of everything changing and was in awe. "I am Loki" she answered. She knew this wolf as Elphaba, for Hige had told her earlier along with pointing out most of the other pack members. "Pleased to meet you." she finished her speech, and her bow.

Tahja Estes
Hige grinned proudly, keeping on Loki's side as the three went about catching up to the still moving pack. He couldn't hold his tongue, though, when Loki was done. "We only just met last night." He admitted with no shame.

Tweek
Not knowing Hige had told Loki of her(though knowing probably would not have changed her actions much) she greeted the female formally. "I am Elphaba. Welcome Loki, to the pack," Suddenly the faintest scent struck Elphaba and she looked geniunely confused. It was so sparse it took a moment for her to place it but when she did her fur bristled. The short mane at the back of her neck stood on end and she looked at Loki strangely. She realised she was being rude, but she couldn't help but intone a bit brusquely. "Have you--Are you a wolf of Faenaro?" There was surprise in her voice and slight suspicion.

Stormy Hound
Loki bowed her head low at that. "I only stayed in his den for a few hours. Most of my time spent there was actually spent in the woods nearby with Hige. "Faenaro found a pup and I on the riverbank and wouldn't leave us until we came with him. I had just entered the area after traveling from far away." she answered truthfully.

Tweek
She gave Loki a hard look, her green eyes glittering with a fierce light. She wouldn't put spies past Faenaro but this wolf seemed to be telling the truth. Elphaba relaxed and looked at the other female apologetically. "I am sorry." Elphaba turned her gaze to the side, flattening her ears and curling her lip viciously, exposing half of her arsenal of sharp white teeth. "That sounds just like Faenaro. He knows he can't be considered an alpha without other wolves so he's desperate to pick up whatever he can. Conceited b*****d." Her eyes darted back to Loki as she realized what she'd said could be slightly degrading to the female, though she didn't mean it like that. "I--" She tried a vague apology but failed, shuffling her paws slightly embarrassed. "If he ever shows his face to you just tell Devvyl. He'll get rid of him. Better yet, tell me. I've got a score to settle,"

Stormy Hound
Loki nodded and grinned inwardly at that. She was worried that Gaara or Faenaro would come after her or worse, come after Hige or the pack. Gaara would never hurt her, but she could see straight through him, he was troubled, he would hurt anyone who stole from him.. and, she thought to herself, from Gaara's perspective, Hige had "stolen" something very dear to him. "Thank you Elphaba, I will do just that." she finished, looking up. The snow seemed to come down more frequently now, and the pack was getting farther ahead. "We should get moving again" she suggested, not wanting to fall too far behind.

Tweek
"Thank you, Loki," The female returned, and bowed her muzzle in a respectful if cursory nod. She was right, it was time they caught up with the others. Elphie glanced to Hige, then back to Loki. Giving her broad shoulders a shake to dislodge the snow begining to mantle her neck once more Elphaba straightened up and smiled gamely. "Come, let us go," She broke into an easy trot, long legs slipping into a languid stride. It wasn't a fast pace but the pack was moving rather slow. They were sure to catch up eventually.

shia-san
Soul moved towards Elphie and Hige and the wolf she hadn't had a chance to meet. her tail in a fast moving pace, she troted over, speaking to Elphie first. ' 'allo there friend.' she said with a bow of her massive head, then looked to hige and his friend. she wagged her tail again. 'i too havn't gotten to meet your friend Hige.' she said with a sort of 'Wuff' at the end, then peered to the tan female. 'What is your name?' her tail wagging slightly. her eyes slowly glanced about her. the lands....were being covered with soft white blankets of snow. it made her stomache churn slightly. shifting her weight. her eye color had now chaned, into an almost grey yellow, very pale colored. they always did this during the winter. mixing in with a faint splash of pale blue. as long as she could remember, her eyes would change with the seasons. summer, fall and spring would be a yellow/orange, and winter, would be a pale yellow blue. but it didn't matter, not many would notice. she wagged her tail friendly, tring to push aside the memorys of her past.

Stormy Hound
Loki's tail wagged furiously at the friends she was making. "Hello" she greeted the other wolf. "I'm Loki." She stepped high through the deepening snow, keeping close to Hige, reaching over to nuzzle his neck occasionally.

Tahja Estes
Hige stood listening to the two. He'd been worried for a moment that Loki would be suspected of some wrongdoing. Elphaba was there to support the Alphas, after all. If there was something they missed Elphaba was there to pick up the slack and reinforce the rules of the pack.

Hige thought as he shook from head to tail, dislodging the snow from his back. ~That's why I wanted her to come with us. I have the distinct feeling that anyone not in his direct favor is expendable.~

He smiled, wuffing a greeting at Soul, tail wagging slowly as well.

They finally all resumed walking again, Hige whining softly in appreciation at Loki's attention. He ducked his head to the side enough so that he could nuzzle her in return as they walked.

"How's Aoiko doing, Soul?"

((PAGE 7))

Daimyn
((No problem! XD))

Devvyl canted his head towards his mate, and giving her a quick nuzzle he dropped back to see who this newcomer was.

Oddly enough, Elphaba was already there, and Hige and the newcomer were looking rather... close. Hmm, wonder what was going on? But he knew all to well, of course; they reminded him all too well of himself and Selia. He gave an inward smirk before picking his pace up once again, to trot alongside his friend and beta, directing his attention to the new wolf. What's your name, newcomer?

Stormy Hound
Loki trotted on with the others forever aware of her surroundings. A squirrell in the tree they just passed by, a late to start army of ants passing underfoot in a patch of ground that wasn't covered in snow. She looked up suddenly, the smell of a new wolf quickly overcame her. Surprised by the arrival of the other alpha, she almost tripped over another root. After regaining her composure, she answered him.

"I am Loki."

Daimyn
Devvyl gave her a soft smile. And I am Devvyl. Welcome Loki, it is good to have you with us.

((Gotta go. biggrin G'night!))

shia-san
soul looked to hige. 'he's quite well, thank you for asking, and your self?' her tail wagged slightly as she smiled to Loki. 'and how about you Loki?' she said with a large smile on her face.

((sorry for the late repsond! >.>))

Luce Ravenier
[[ Hey everybody -- just wanted to let you know that I might not be around much until Sunday. Thanksgiving break starts today, so I'll be at my mom's, where my internet access is teh crappeh and the comps aren't much better. I'll try to lurk, but there's no guarantees on anything. See you guys on Sunday! Have fun! 3nodding

EDIT: Sorry -- Tahja, Stormy, Daimyn and Nikui: if you need to RP Thayne while I'm gone for any reason, you have my permission. ]]

Nikui
[] Aw. xD Well, I may be the same, actually. Daimyn, Tweek, you both have permission to RP Selia if needed. :3 Since you two know her the best.

But, I'm not goin' anywhere, so I'll probably be around every so often. My cousin's are just comin' over. []

Selia watched her mate go back to where the others were, smirking at how close Hige and Loki were...she still didn't feel right, though. This Gaara pup didn't seem to want to let Loki go, though Gaara was a pup, he was now with Feanaro.

Shaking her head, she'd look up towards the cloudy skies...hopefully in a few days they'd find good territory, and be able to settle and have a place...that is, if Feanaro didn't get there first. It didn't seem like he would, though.

Stormy Hound
Loki looked to Soul, also smiling. "I'm in a lot better shape now." she answered. As they walked on, she couldn't keep her thoughts from running wild. She knew little bits of information about when Faenaro would move, but what if she was wrong, what if the masked wolf had changed his plans. She didn't want to go telling her Alphas one thing, and it coming up completely different later. She sighed inwardly and took to listening to the bustling of other wolves, her ears catching little bits of conversations but not enough to be considered eavesdropping. The earthy tones of the forest seemed to get more and more white with each step they took.

Zero Dream
Aoiko was a little behind the others, trying not to mind the coldness of the snow each time one of his paws came in contact with it. It wasn't too hard, as his mind was caught to more important matters - having to maybe face his father again was one of them. No doubt he would once again try to kill him... What if his mother saw him, but no sign of his brother ? A certain sence of shame was apparent, yet he still walked with a somewhat proud demanor, his tail following his movements in the air. He had been taught not to look weak.

Hopefully that one pack should have moved by now - but who really knew ?

shia-san
soul smiled to Loki, then looked back. Aoiko was alittle behind them. her nose flared as she bolted towards him, her breath creating smoke around her nose, because of the cold. her feet sinking very slightly into the snowy ground, her eyes looking to Aoiko. she ran towards him, and slowed to a stop once close to his head, licking at it gently. 'how are you?' she said with a smile, still cleaning his forehead slightly, she then moved behind him, nudging him fowards. she spoke softly. 'i know the ground is cold, and its hard to keep up, but we have too if we wish to survive....Aoiko, we must stay ahead with the others....dont let us fall behind.' she spoke with full concern, but a slight bit of force in it. a wuff escaped her maw as she trotted besides Aoiko. she looked to him, his size was now as tall as she. she let out a soft sigh. 'he's growing taller then i.' she said softly, her ears flapping back. she thought for a moment at what her mother had once said to her. 'my baby's growing' she let out a laugh, and then nuzzled Aoiko's chest fur.

Lesotho
Whinn trotted along briskly, keeping up with the group. A small, contented sigh escaped her nostrils, blowing a puff of condensation out in front of her. She tossed her head as it parted about her muzzle and eyes and laughed quietly to herself. They were all travelling together; coming together to form a pack... it was new to all of them. They'd come from all different places and now she'd learn their stories and be able to socialize. She put a spring in her step, wondering who she could meet and greet first. She'd already met Selia, and obviously Yero. The thought of him made her smile inwardly. Her ears canted back, listening to the warm bodies following behind her as her eyes scanned the ones in front. Curiousity consumed her brain, trying to guess each ones story.

shia-san
Souls eyes were diverted by a female close by. in the pack obviously. her nose twitched slightly as she licked at Aoiko, and then troted towards the female wolf. she hadn't gotten the pleasure of meeting her. or atleast she couldn't remember. her eyes peered to the she-wolf, their pale color peircing into its surroundings. she moved towards the wolf, in a wuff, she greeted her, letting her know she too was moving with the pack...if she got any idea that soul wasn't. ' 'allo there, havn't had a chance to meet you. whats your name?' she said with a hop, then her tail wagged furiously.

Tahja Estes
((couldn't reply earlier though I DID see your post, sorry Shia! sweatdrop ))

"Great." Hige smirked, ~Thanks to Loki and Thayne.~ He added mentally.

As Loki began to socialize slowly with each member of the pack, Hige began to feel more at ease with each greeting. The only ones she'd yet to meet now were Yero, Whinn, Thayne, Raine, and Aoiko. It wouldn't be long before they were all familiar. Besides, Hige hadn't seen Aoiko since they were pups, and he'd not yet met Whinn, only heard of her from Yero.

He'd kept close to Loki as they crossed the river, boy was that ever COLD. He thought he'd felt eyes on them then but couldn't see anyone as they crossed...

Night had decided to blanket the forest now, bringing her nightlights, the wolves second guiding light, the moon and stars. The air grew cooler still without the sun's warming rays, hidden by the snow clouds though they had been.

Hige moved Loki and himself closer to the pups, giving the younger ones more warmth by having larger bodies closer by. The last thing that they wanted was for one of the little ones to get ill.

"You two doing alright...?" He asked, looking over the two. Thayne nodded quietly.

((XD;; yeah, I'm afraid of autoing too much, even with permission. ^^))

And so they continued on under the guiding light of the moon.

Zero Dream
"...R-Right.... Im sorry."

No matter how scared he was, he couldn't jeopardize the pack because of it. Trough he wouldn't admit it wasn't the snow slowing down his steps...

Letting Soul go to the other wolf, Aoiko sprung, dashing across the white fields as he began to catch up with the rest of the wolves.

No matter what, he couldn't jeopardize Soul, or anyone else.

Tahja Estes
"Hey, Aoiko!" Hige greeted the other wolf with a wuff as the younger teen caught up to the pack. "Long time no see," His tongue hanging from the side of his maw despite the cold, Hige looked over to the black and blue teen.

Zero Dream
"Yeah, its been a long time." He grinned. "I see you've grown too !"

Tahja Estes
"Same to you," Hige smirked back. "this is Loki, Loki, this is Aoiko,"

"Hello, Aoiko." Loki smiled softly, keeping pace. "It's nice to meet you."

((XD;; I are teh lame.))

Zero Dream
"Enchanted." Aoiko gave a polite bow of the head as he walked. "You're new around here ? Can't remember seeing you around before."

Tahja Estes
"Yes," She leant her head a bit to chew on her foreleg, "I'd only been here a few suns when Hige invited me into the pack."

Hige let the two converse as they walked, listening politely for a change.

Zero Dream
"I've been there... uh...." He seemed to be trying to recall. "...Since when the first leaves started to fall. At any rate, im glad you're there !"

Tahja Estes
"Thank you, Aoiki. I'm glad that I'm here too, and you as well!" She smiled, tail swaying happily.

"Aren't we just the merry little pack?" Hige mused. "What do you think the new territory will be like?" He arched a brow at Aoiko.

' 'allo there, havn't had a chance to meet you. whats your name?' she said with a hop, then her tail wagged furiously.

(Assuming it's for me n_n)

Her ears canted daintly back as she heard a particular set of paws coming closer to her. They folded back, a bit nervous and unsure at first before standing up right again. Catching the small *wuff* of a hello, she turned her head, her almost pupil-less eyes falling upon the other. She hadn't met her yet. A small smile came to her muzzle, and she gave a wag of her tail heartily, a small wuff escaping herself in greeting. "I'm Whinn." she said shyly, "Who're you?" Her pup nature still shone through her adult sized body, and she would have blushed if it were visible. Her pace slackened a bit to break even with the new companion.

"...I...."

...

"...I think ill't be nice. Im sure there will still be a body of water nearby, and a beautiful forest..." Sigh. "....Im sure ill't be nice."

Daimyn
Devvyl'd picked his pace up to a run to catch up with his mate. Returning to the front of his pack alongside Selia, he eyed the sky warily. It was darkening, a sure sign of an overcast dusk. It would be night soon; they'd travelled for several hours already. He turned to Selia. Think we should stop for a short rest sometime soon?

Nikui
She nodded, and followed his gaze to the sky. She tossed her head in an echoing howl, calling everyone up to stop for a rest. Turning a bit, she'd nuzzle his neck, before slowly moving towards a rocky area...looked to be a cluster of caves. Seating herself below a ledge, she sighed, and would lean down to nibble at her front paw...which was going numb from walking and the cold.

Daimyn
((Uh, some autoplaying in here... if anyone has a problem with it I'll edit. x_x))

Devvyl followed her, resting his tired body next to hers, and watching the others bed down for at least a few hours, if not the night. They were in no hurry, and if Devvyl's leg were starting to ache (which they were, although he actually hadn't noticed it before now), then he could only imagine how some of the weaker pack members felt... or the pups, even. He looked over to Raine and called to her, who gratefully padded over and curled up next to Devvyl's warm body.

He noticed Selia chewing at her paw, and leaned over to lick at it for her.

Nikui
Watching Raine come over, she gave a light smile...before looking to her mate. Licking his forehead softly, she laid herself down beside him, nuzzling his leg to will him to follow her gesture and lay down with her and the pup as well. They would sleep for the night...and head out early in the morning to try and get to their destination. Looking over the pack, she watched as most of them came close together for warmth, a soft smile running over her ebony lips.

Daimyn
Devvyl obliged her, folding his legs beneath him and scooting closer to her for warmth and putting a paw over Raine for good measure. Finally closing his eyes, his last coherent thought before he drifted to sleep was that hopefully by this time tomorrow, they'd have a home. A permenant one.

Nikui
She'd slowly shift to rest near his side, curling up against him, and resting her head atop his neck affectionately. Looking down to the pup, she'd rest a paw near the pup as well. Licking the back of his head lightly, she'd soon allow herself to drift into a light sleep...listening for anyone or anything that may try to disturb them, all the while resting her body for their trip...she was ready for a home, as well.

Tahja Estes
Hige and Loki, meanwhile, had also settled down, finding a small cave, one out of perhaps a few. ((We were rp'ing it over aim, I'll get it to post in a bit, ^^))

As Raine followed the alphas, Hige called Thayne over. After he had introduced Loki and Thayne the pup settled between the two, under Hige's chin. The brown teen alllowed the black and red pup to curl up against his chest for warmth, feeling content. His mate at his side and his 'little brother' under his chin... He would have felt warm even with all the snow in the world...

The male did glance around, though, to see if anyone else needed group warmth, barking an invitation. They would indeed be warmer as a group.

Only then did he rest his head atop of Thayne, draping his tail over Loki.

shia-san
((*nods to les*))

Soul's ears flicked up as she heard 'Whinn' then the question. 'nice to meet you Whinn, my name is Soul.' she nodded, then licked at her nose. then there was silence. a very uncomfertable one. she broke the silence with a bark to Whinn. 'so how long have you been around? in the pack? in the lands.' her ears flicked up at the howl Selia let out, and she looked to Whinn, asking almost to join her in a trot towards the resting grounds with out saying anything. her eyes peered to Aoiko. her nose flareing slightly, she watched him trail towards the pack. and she feared he was seperating from her. although she had a small part in her saying it wasn't true. she just couldn't help but feel they were slowly, going in different ways....a sigh escaped her maw as she looked to Whinn once more.

Lesotho
In hearing the others name, she contemplated it; broke it into syllables and let it roll over her tongue, savouring it. "Soul. I will remember that." Then came a short length of time in which the two walked in a forced silence. Soul broke said silence with a question. As she was about to answer, the howl from Selia caught in her ears and she eagerly followed Soul at a jog to the resting grounds. She hadn't realized how tired her legs were. Once they arrived, she answered. "I haven't been with the pack very long, I guess... I came with Yero." she said, an amiable smile parting her lips. "I lived by the river as long as I can remember..." She trailed off, memories of her home and comfort flooding her memory for a moment before she snapped back to the reality of a good rest. Catching Soul's slight distress she followed her gaze to the other. Something seemed to trouble her about him; she frowned slightly before catching her gaze in Soul's in silence. In the back of her mind she wondered where Yero had gotten off to. She hadn't really seen him in a while...

shia-san
Soul nodded to her then troted with her to the packs position. her nose flared as she heared the reply 'ah, i see. i came with another as well...or he came with me..' she nodded then walked towards the others. looking around for Aoiko, her ears flattening slightly.

Tweek
Speaking of Yero, there he was. As if sensing Whinn was thinking of him he had apeared in that remarkably quiet manner beside her, nipping her ear affectionately. "How are you faring, love?" His glowing red eyes twinkled warmly and his coal black fur was peppered with thick flakes of snow. On the verge of reading her thoughts, he figured he owed an explanation for his temporary absence. "Sorry, I was catching up with Mother,"

(( *pounces Les!* ))

Zero Dream
Aoiko was not too far away. Once Hige and Loki had went their way, he returned to Soul and nuzzeled her side, as if he somehow knew, and was telling her not to worry... That he would be her little one no matter which way their paths would take. With her, his worries seemed to fly away for now, as he laid down on a rock and watched the snow fall.

He had to admit, it was trully beautiful.

Lesotho
Feeling a loving n** at her ear she turned her head, smile already warming her features. There he was! It was like magick, she mused as she gazed affectionately into his burning eyes. She gave his thick neck a nudge with her nose for good measure, then nodded to his explanation. Trying to shake the thick coat of white from her back and head, she replied to his first comment. "Quite well... I knew you wouldn't go far...." She was now at the resting place and eased her tired body down to sit, feeling her legs throb with fatigue. It was always worse once it stopped commotion, she thought, not yet laying fully in the white, cold blanket that wrapped them in a wintry haze.

Tweek
"Good, good," He mumbled softly, nuzzling her. Yero stretched, feeling an acute sense of tired muscles, aching comfortably, ready to settle down to recharge with a sleep. Slowly sliding down into the thickening snow, he used his large paws to scoop out a makeshift den just about big enough for himself and Whinn. The snow could fall and insulate them. Yero hunkered down, settling himself and curling his body around a space that could very well be filled by his mate. He whuffed gently, inviting her to curl up with him. His eyelids lowered slightly, a warm sleepy feeling coming over him despite the cold. "I wonder how long we must travel 'til we reach the new territory." He yawned. Obviously it didn't bother him much. He was game for anything as long as she was near.

(( heart He's so lovesick. Aww I love all these sappy posts! x3 ))

Lesotho
She watched him with a keen eye, enjoying his sign of affection. He, too, looked tired. Her eyes hinted at curious interest as she watched him scoop the snow from an area that was about the size of them. She smirked, getting the idea but wouldn't move unless told to do so. He whuffed and she responded, rising on sore paws and coming the short distance to bridge the gap between their warm bodies. She saw the space he'd made for her, and she nestled into it, licking his cheek gently as she did so. Once comfortable, her eyes easilly slid shut, her ears canted toward him to hear his tired mumblings. Her brain was slow in comprehension, but she replied to him none the less, sighing softly before she did. "It can't be more than three days... tops....the pups can't make it much further than that without a longer recouperation period." There was that word again... pups. She smiled as it rolled off her tongue, savouring the idea again. It was soon dispelled, however, by her sleepiness. She set her head down atop Yero's neck, letting out another soft sigh which dispelled crystalized air from her lungs.

Tweek
The male snuggled into her, breathing a long breath of warm air into her fur, blowing it softly out of place. Face nestled in her thick fur tasting her scent--she wouldn't see, but he opened those bright red eyes against the dark of her coat as she mentioned that word. His thoughts echoed hers on the subject. Funny how just one word could give him that curious feeling. He slowly closed his eyes again, readjusting himself to fix his air flow as Whinn lowered her muzzle onto his feathery neck. "Mmm." He hummed in agreement. A moment paused and he breathed a low sigh, a segway into a a quiet yet audible: "Love you," As he dozed off to sleep.

shia-san
souls attention was quickly drawed away by a nuzzle. her eyes peered down to her Aoiko. a smile formed on her features as she lowered her body, crouching down, and leaning against him slightly, but playfully, and watched the snow fall as well. her eyes gazed at one in particular, then was distracted by another. so many of them. her ears flicked back in a yawn as she lowered her head and layed on her paws. looking over slightly to Aoiko. at this angle, he seemed much older then she. she let out a laugh and looked on.

Zero Dream
"What's funny mom ? Do I look like a wet dog because of all that snow ?" Aoiko teased, chuckeling a little. "...The snow's really pretty trough. Too bad its so cold, because it looks lovely."

Lesotho
As she settled she felt him shift slightly, still blowing warm air across her fur. She smiled, her heavy eyes closing once again as she settled down with him for the first time. There was something magickal about the way she fit so perfectly next to him there, and how warm and comfortable they both were in their small 'den' in the snow. An ear cant caught his sigh and she was no longer suprised to hear his loving words. As she started to drift off next to him in the blanket of snow, she answered him. "Love you too" she murmured softly into the feathery fur of his neck, finally falling asleep.

Daimyn
((All right, I'm going to speed things up here... it's getting kind of slow and boring. xp ))

Devvyl's eyes opened to bright dawn light, made brighter by the clouds overhead. It had long since stopped snowing, but the clouds obviously weren't going anywhere.

He gave a yawn and a stretch, nudging Selia and Raine awake in the process. He did a doubletake, though, when glancing at Raine -- she'd grown larger, past puppyhood and into adolescence. He gave a smile before moving on, deciding not to say anything for now.

A howl escaped his lips, volume rising as it stretched out. They were on the move again.

((Yes, that did suck majorly, but oh well. :O))

((*lmao* XD yay teen!! I'd post if not for work soon))

((Page 10 ish mine!!))

Hige's ears twitched as morning approached, and with it the call of their leader. Lifting his massive head from Thayne's back the young adult looked in the direction that the alphas and Raine had slept. It was time to move out. Now that stiff legs had been given a night to recooperate it was time to continue their trek to new territory. Today might very well bring them there, no one could be certain.

Hige turned to his mate first, pushing his nose into her ear gently and snuffing into it, then giving it an affectionate n**. "Hey, sleeping beauty, rise and shine." He urged, nudging her until she finally began to wake before he grinned and directed his attention to Thayne. "Hey, sleepyheads, we're gonna get left behind if you two don't-" A rising sensation caught him by surprise, cutting off his sentence. A yawn. "-get up..."

Hmph. He couldn't blame them, he'd like to stay asleep for a little while longer too, but 'home' called... They'd be able to sleep more soon, once they found a place for the pack to call their own. Their rag tag family of three- for now.

Finally, Hige stood, stretching lazy muscles with a great bow. As he straightened he gave his entire body a great shake, sending snow flying every which way in a powdery shower.

Giving the black pup one more nudge, Hige finally opted to carry him instead, leaning down and picking him up by the scruff of the back of his neck. With a yawn, stretch, and shake from Loki, the three of them set off to follow the pack. ((Is Balan still with the pack btw? X3))

Zero Dream
Upon hearing the alpha's howl, Aoiko's ear wriggeled, and slowly ge emerged from his torpor, getting up and shoving the snow off his back as he went and followed with Soul, not as scared... or as bothered as he was the previous day. He had came to a decision :

If he had to face his past, so be it.

Stormy Hound
Loki yawned and looked up. Seeing Hige's gorgeous face first thing in the morning was better than any dream she could run through overnight. As her head cleared of sleep, she too heard the call of her alphas. Forcing herself to stand, she shook the snow from her pelt and stretched long and hard before taking up stride alongside her mate. She smiled warmly at the sleeping Thayne in his great jaws. "Poor little tuckered out thing." she commented as they walked.

(( crying I feel so DEAD after my Thanksgiving fiasco, but I'm home now and able to post again. Infinite thanks to Tahj for keeping Loki with the pack. You did a great job ^^ ))

"It's been a busy last two moons." Hige replied with a small grin, glancing over at her as he carried the pup along with her at his side. "Not to mention, it wasn't too long ago that I found him and took him in. I doubt if he got much rest as much as we wrestled and practiced hunting."

((;__; *hugs teh Stormy* You're under orders to bet better!))

Stormy Hound
She nodded in agreement. "I haven't slept much since I arrived on the banks of the main river." Yawning again, she leaned her head closer to wash his ear. "I hope our new home has water close by, and huge trees. The perfect dens are dug under the roots of the forest's large trees" she sighed, nostalgia creeping in. The first den she ever knew was held together by a large network of roots and rocks. Father was a strong wolf to have dug through all of it to make such a nice den, she thought to herself as she walked along.

Tahja Estes
His ear twitched a bit with her attention, since he couldn't do much to return it while holding Thayne.

"We'll need a big den." Hige smirked, hinting and teasing her with the prospect of why they'd need such excess space. "Shouldn't be too hard to dig one out..." No one said that it had to be dug completely in one go, besides, but he thought he'd grown out of his puppish size quite well, he should be able to handle it. Besides, he had his nightly runs so his legs were strong. He'd dig a deep home for his family, one that would be safe from the chill of rain and snowfall. Only the best for them!

Stormy Hound
Loki grinned. "That we will."

As she walked along she couldn't help thinking of puppies, and Thayne.. Fae and Gaara. She missed her friend and loved him dearly, but if anywolf so much as looked at her pups the wrong way... she sighed, realizing she was snarling visibly, and relaxed herself. And then there was Thayne. She was happy that he found a father figure in Hige, happy that he might soon have more than just that. Though she was near exhausted, she kept pace with everyone around her, not daring to show weakness. She really felt as though she would collapse, suddenly. Willing herself to move on, she trodded next to Hige, knowing if she did fall he would wait with her.

Hige had managed to drift a bit closer to her when he noticed that she seemed to be acting strangely. "You hanging in there alright?" He asked, concern in his tone.

She nodded slowely. "Yes, love. I'm alright, I'm just feeling a little under the weather." She snuffled at his neck lovingly.

Tahja Estes
Now Hige was feeling especially worried. Looking at her and nudging her with the side of his head. "Do you want to rest a bit longer? I'm sure we can catch up to the rest of the pack."

Stormy Hound
Giving a reassuring smile, she pressed on. "I'll be alright, besides, I have a feeling that we're almost there." She couldn't wait to be in their new home, and was determined to get there with everyone else.

Tahja Estes
Hige mentally sighed, females could be stubborn about some things, but she had a point too. They might reach their new home before the sun reached the center of the sky if they kept going. He shot her a wary look, the pup still hanging securely from his jaws. "Alright. But tell me if you need to rest!"

Meanwhile, Hige tried to put his worries to rest. It was difficult though. What would all this have been worth if she got ill before they got there?

Turning his head again, careful not to jar Thayne, he gave his mate another nuzzle to her ear to show his concern.

Stormy Hound
"Oh of course." she agreed. She wouldn't keep anything from him, but she didn't want to worry him all the same. She notices Thayne stirring a bit as Hige nuzzled her.

Thayne woke to the jarring feel of being carried and for a short, brainless moment, thought he was still with his mother. He opened his eyes and let them focus. The snow on the ground further enforced the notion that he was with his old pack, but when he took a deep breath to wake himself completely, he scented Hige and Loki very close by. He looked over and realized that Loki was next to him. That meant that Hige was carrying him -- or so he assumed.

"Hige?" he mumbled sleepily.

"Yeah," Hige replied with a small grin in his tone, distracted and amused by the sleepy voice. "What about you squirt, you feeling rested?"

Luce Ravenier
Squirt, Thayne thought with a mental "snort." "Aye, I'm feelin' awright. How long've we been on the move?" He stretched rigidly and yawned, revealing those sharp little puppy teeth.

Stormy Hound
"Not for very long" Loki answered the pup, realizing that it might be hard for Hige to speak with Thayne in his jaws. "There's talk that we're very close, too." she added, giving him a snuffling nuzzle. She licked her mate's cheek as she started to feel a little better.

Nikui
[] Just a notice, we'll all probably RP tonight..and get to the territory. It'll be easier that way. I'm hoping to start when I get home(3-3:30pm MST). Then we'll get to the territory..and settle. []

Tahja Estes
Hige, amused, gave Thayne a bit longer to wake up, grateful to have Loki answer for him.

He settled the pup on the ground so that he could walk on his own. He figured he'd rather walk than be pampered like a newborn. The snow wasn't too deep so Thayne shouldn't have a hard time walking. "Hopefully we'll get there within the next day or so."

Luce Ravenier
[[ I liiiiive! ]]

Thayne shook himself from his nose to the tip of his tail vigorously, accompanying his fur-ruffling with a couple of pleased woofs. The snow was, naturally, cold but it didn't bother him. He was too well-prepared for the cold weather, given his upbringing in the north.

"Y'think we'll get there s'soon?" he asked Hige, trotting along beside the older male.

Tahja Estes
"Here's hoping," Hige replied, flexing his jaw abit after being used to carrying Thayne's weight.

He then turned a golden eye to the pup, tail swaying and held level.

"They seem anxious to keep moving. You have a good sleep?"

Luce Ravenier
"Aye, I did," he replied. " 'ow long did y' 'afta carry me?" He grinned lopsidedly. "I'm not th' lightest."

"Aye, I did," he replied. " 'ow long did y' 'afta carry me?" He grinned lopsidedly. "I'm not th' lightest."

"Let's just put it like this: Next time I'm waking you up." Hige smirked teasingly.

Stormy Hound
Loki strayed a bit from Hige and Thayne, letting the two males talk with each other. She trotted along, her head low, picking up scents of other wolves ahead of them and small nonwolf creatures. Her stomach growled. She looked all around her, not wanting to seem suspicios. For a moment she considered leaving the pack for a bit to follow a fresh rabbit scent, then dismissed the idea, keeping all eyes on the pack around her.

Daimyn
((Gaia's being effil. D: ))

Devvyl's ears perked as he caught the scent of something... interesting. Gently nudging his mate, he spoke, keeping his voice low. Selia.. I smell water ahead. Not too far away.

Nikui
At the nudge, she'd look to him, and lift her muzzle towards the air...she smelt it as well. Smirking, she'd nuzzle into him. "Yes, lets hurry...We all need to start on dens before it snows again."

Daimyn
((Augh, sorry Nik, my cousin decided right after you left that it would be a jollygood time to shut off the server. >< Posting now.))

Devvyl barked and picked up the pace. They were almost there. The body of water grew nearer and the smell grew stronger, and soon enough a lake came into view, a paper-thin layer of ice stretching out across it.

Devvyl looked around. The trees were thick in this area, keeping most of the snow off the ground. What little snow there was on the ground barely covered the pine needles and leaf litter on the forest floor. Split up, he called out. Go in groups of two or three and scout the area out. If you find somehing interesting, find Selia or I.

He and his mate loped around the perimeter of the small lake, and found that it was part of a large river, most probably the same one they'd lived near since puphood. Further south, the river was framed by a tall hill, which sloped down away from the river and formed a sort of tiny valley. Looks like a great place for dens, he told Selia with wolven grin.

((Kay, if you don't get that last paragraph, then yer stoopid. xd No, just joking. If you don't get it, here's a crappy pic I took two seconds to draw in Photoshop with a mouse. So don't laugh at me. >>

Zero Dream
((OMG ART. xd ))

Aoiko barked back in aknowledgment to the alpha, and headed off along with Soul torward the lightly frozen river, remaining carefully off the ice. It didn't seem tick enough to walk on, and better safe than sorry. The adolecent padded into the snow, following the river down a little furter south, looking up for anything worth noting.

shia-san
Soul looked to Aoiko, her nose flareing slightly in excitment. this was the most amazing thing she had ever done. she sniffed slightly at the ice under her, and then yipped picking up her pace to keep up with the alpha.

Tahja Estes
They arrived behind the others, but the smells had driven the three to hurry ahead.

Hige looked around the area with building spirits. He thought that he could hear excitement from Devvyl's tone. ((Only 'thought', if it's not there then no worries, ^^; trying to avoid any autoing of charas I don't have an okay on.))

The trip hadn't been very long, but the end results were worth-while all the same. Devvyl and Selia had found their pack a home! (Not that Hige ever doubted they would, mind you. wink )

Trees, a thick cannopy sheltering most of the forest floor from the dancing snowflakes. There was more than enough room for them all, and an ample water supply... It was perfect for their needs! He was already looking over trees to see which might make the most suitable dens, but his ears twitched to instant attention at his alphas call.

Starting off in the opposite direction that Aoiko and Soul had gone, Hige stopped and shot a lupine grin back over his shoulder to his mate and adopted younger brother. Beckoning. "Well, come on, what are we waiting for?"

Stormy Hound
Staring around at all the excitement, Loki wondered if she would live through all the wonderment of a real home. Everywolf was running, sniffing, digging and drinking - getting prepared for the task ahead, digging out dens. At Hige's beckon, she gained a new energy. Shooting off like a rocket, she followed him to find the perfect place for their den, giving small yips as she flew.

Tahja Estes
The gamma barked out a call to his mate and Thayne. They'd take a look around and report back to Selia and Devvyl, but Hige was certainly eager to run. He backtracked to Thayne again and pushed his cold nose into his side, into his thick black fur coat and snuffed. He gave the pup a playful push. His tail was wagging furiously as though he were still a pup, or even an adolescent. Lifting his large head away from the young one, a loud bark sounded again a few times from his maw, backing up and running a tight circle with dancing eyes. "Come on!"

With his urged invitation, the brown adult whirled forward again and began at a trot, leaving room for Thayne to keep up. He'd have a chance to grow up strong here, with a good, large, strong pack to support him. Maybe Loki had even already taken to him like a sister, or a mother... Seemed like it...

The thought brought a wolven smile to Hige's muzzle.

So, he kept his nose open to the scents and his ears to the sounds. He could smell Loki and Thayne behind him, and ahead were the smells of aged wood and faint scent of pine needles. He could also smell the scents of small woodland creatures that had taken off at the first scent of wolves.

There wasn't much sound, as there was no whistling wind. His ears could certainly decipher the sounds of squirrels resting secure in their tree-bound nests. His ears twitched attentive to every sound, prepared even now for a surprise attack, maybe by another wolf, or a bear. He didn't know yet that the great beasts hibernated during the season of cold. There was a soft trickling sound, very small. He'd barely picked it up, but he had, and he was willing to bet that was why he smelt water.

He pushed forward, heading for the thicker treeline. In the back of his mind he wondered how far they were supposed to go... He felt like they were all a part of something important... ~Well, we ARE supposed to scout the area.~

He could smell water ahead, and he glanced back over his shoulder to see how Thayne and Loki were keeping up. "I think there's something up ahead," He wuffed....

... and idly slipped from sight.

There was the source. There was a very small stream running through a clearing that was maybe seven trees wide. It was shaped oddly, (think of a long sand trap on a golf course, kidney bean shaped.) and there was a large fallen log in the center blanketed by soft moss. It smelt old. It must have been a mighty tree, fallen where it once stood. The hollowed out stump directly by the log was testiment to that. Wood-bugs (TERMITES!) seemed to have eaten out the insides. The stream obviously ran from the far end of lake and through the trees, curling past the log on it's natural path, past some rocks. It hadn't frozen over due to it's constant motion. It would make for a convinient drinking source.

It would certainly make a nice place to rest and play, and the sunlight would filter through the clear patch in the the warmer months. Right now, though, it was cold due to snowfall, and it wouldn't make a suitable home. Their pack would probably be glad to have this place all the same though. The mothers or pup-sitters could watch the little ones here and still be within the haven of the pack's territory.

He stared hard at the fallen giant.... there was someting tugging at the back of his mind....

He could see this clearing, but without the stream, and larger.... there were flowers, and healthy grass, and a log just like this.

Was it a memory of his first pack's territory...?

Luce Ravenier
Thayne followed Hige to the stream, caught up in the excitement of new territory. He took a leap from a small hill and jumped on his pack-brother's tail with a "mighty" growf. His tongue lolled with pleasure as he romped about Hige, sniffing the ground. The wood was old, musty and comfortable, although the scent did make him sneeze initially.

He leapt up on the log carefully, hoping it wouldn't spill him back onto the ground, and slowly trotted across, looking back at Hige and Loki to make sure they were still there.

[[ Sorry that's not better -- my brain is teh fried. X.x ]]

Stormy Hound
Loki watched Hige run to and fro between trees and bushes as she ran with him, trying her best to keep up. She felt weak and frail suddenly, and had no clue why. When he disappeared she panicked for a moment, then followed his scent into the treeline. Stopping suddenly, held in the magnificent beauty of the clearing he had found, she approached him, and licked his cheek affectionately. "Love you" she mrrrr'd

Tahja Estes
With a soft buff of surprise Hige averted his attention to the black, gray, and red pup. Thayne had managed to shake the older wolf out of his thoughts.

Yeah, this place would be perfect for the pups to play in. The grass probably grew lush thanks to the stream.

Hige's eyes grinned contently, tail resuming it's wag. He shook out his fur of the last of the moisture the melted snow had left, giving a deep-throated 'wuff' at Thayne.

He was just about to engage the pup in a game of wrestling when he felt a 'kiss' on his cheek, and again Hige's attention was diverted.

He mrr'ed a happy response, tail wagging again. He turned his head so he could return the favor to Loki. He pushed his head against hers affectionately, then looking at Thayne with a promise of play a little bit later on. He could guess the pup was probably just as excited if not more so- as the rest of them, and eager to expend some energy. "Hey, let's go tell Selia and Devvyl what we've found, then I'll dig us out a den."

~And Loki can finally get some decent rest.~

Stormy Hound
Loki nodded, hearing Hige. Though he sounded as if he was speaking through water, or a barral. She nodded again, her ears hurt now, and she wobbled on her feet. She took one step towards her mate... "Hige.." she breathed before crumpling to the ground with a whine.

Tahja Estes
For a second, everything stopped.

One moment she'd been moving closer, the next everything came to a sudden screeching hault.

He didn't hesitate in shouting her name, startled. They could probably hear the males alarmed yowl. "Loki!!"

Her body felt limp as he pushed his muzzle under hers, whining. Her eyes had closed, making Hige panic terribly at first.

"Loki, don't go to sleep!!"

Snow shoved suddenly aside, the gamma wedging his body underneath that of his mate's, easing her onto his back.

She was still breathing... thank the stars. She didn't really weigh very much compared to him, he'd have no trouble getting her back to the rest of the pack. He barked a- "Let's go, Thayne...!" to his pack brother and the two of them headed back to the group, Loki on Hige's back.

A soft growling noise came from his throat, unbeknownst to Hige. He had to go slowly so as not to loose her, and each step felt like he was condeming her to possible death. What if she was sick?! They should have rested! He should have insisted!

He barked once, twice, three times for good measure to announce they're return, and finally they emerged from the trees.

Stormy Hound
-where am I...- Suddenly Loki found herself... somewhere different. Suddenly her head didn't hurt, she didn't feel like clawing her ears off. It was springtime, everything was different to her now. -What happened, this.. this looks..- she stopped mid sentance, and inhaled sharply. She smelled her home. She smelled.. her family. An increasing sense of worry came over her now. Where was Hige.. and Thayne, and the rest of the pack. Where was the snow and the clearing.. where. Things quickly started spinning around her, making her dizzy. She felt as though she would throw up, and leant her head down to eat some of the lush green grass but only met her lips with ash. She quickly raised her head to see everything black, the trees were smoldering, flames were licking at her now, singeing her fur. The smell was intolerable, making her nausiated again. She whined and craned her lean neck to the sky letting loose an echoing howl.. calling for her mate to save her from this hell.

Daimyn
The alpha male's ears perked at a sound... was that Hige? He leapt at the sound of his agonized wail, running at full speed toward the sound... to find Loki on the ground, seemingly unconscious (I don't want to say she's unconscious cuz I don't know that she is... is she? o.o).

He looked to Hige, whose stricken expression mirrored Devvyl's. What happened?

Tahja Estes
Hige had just settled Loki on the ground again, having returned to the original area that the pack had found. He lowered his head next to hers again and tried waking her. ~Come on Loki, open your eyes!~

He wasn't sure what to do.

She needed him, and he couldn't do anything!

He looked at Devvyl with pained eyes, trying to hide his panic. "We found a clearing, we were about to come back when she just collapsed all of the sudden."

((13!))

Luce Ravenier
Thayne whined agonizingly, a piteously faint sound that barely mirrored Hige's misery. What was wrong with Loki? Was she sick? Was she hurt? What could they do? He shifted helplessly from paw to paw, unable to think properly. He looked up between Devvyl and Hige, trusting that one of them, at least, could do something for Loki.

While he had yet to become sorely attached to the brown female, she was obviously very important to Hige, and that mattered very much to the tricolored pup.

Nikui
She heard a thump...a body had just hit the ground. She turned on her hind paws, and would bolt in the direction of Hige, Loki, and her mate. Ceasing her steps near them, she'd stare down at the seemingly unconscious Loki...but she couldn't tell. "What's going on?" She growled a bit, not liking how something bad had happened already...not mad at anyone in the pack, but just...angry.

She moved towards Loki and Hige, slowly lowering her head to nudge the omega's neck lightly.."Loki, open your eyes...it'll be okay." She whispered, looking to Hige, who was quite worried, obviously...Her ears lowered.

Stormy Hound
Loki stirred in her mind. She was running fast now, she couldn't will herself to stop. She wanted out, she needed help. How could she alert the others? She stumbled and flew to the ground, hit hard suddenly. She looked back, looking to see what she had hit - a puppy. -Are.. are you ok?- she asked, pitying the poor thing and hoping she hadn't hurt it too bad. The pup whined, and Loki calmed herself. The pup needed her. For now. Loki whined softly and twitched.

((ur, italicized stuffs are in Loki's mind. straight up text is real life happenings >.> ))

Tahja Estes
"I don't know," Hige admitted, voice low with something between shame and fear. How could he protect her if he didn't even know what the hell was wrong?

He kept his voice close to his mate's ear, hoping that maybe the sound of his voice would help her return to them again.

"Wake up, Loki." A soft whine escaped his throat, and he nudged her head gently, followed by a whisper. "Please."

((The drama returns! *goes to update sig*))

Nikui
She'd look to her mate with deep worry in her dual colored mirages, and slowly moved to push Loki up against Hige more, moving the female's head to rest against her adopted son's paws. She laid down beside Loki, trying to keep her 'sleeping' body warm...hearing the whine, she heavily sighed.

"We'll just have to wait it out," she said sadly, and closed her eyes, keeping her head held high above her front legs, which crossed over one another. "If we keep her warm, she'll be fine."

Stormy Hound
Loki stared away for a second, looking around for the pup's parents. When she looked back, there were more pups. -What the...- she started, but couldn't go on. Soon the pups shifted.. soon she heard them in her head. Familiar voices flooded her mind as landscape around her started to fade until she saw nothing but black.

-Wake up, Loki. Please?- Was she hearing things? Was she still in that horrid place. Afraid to open her eyes lest she see the charred earth again, she flicked her ears and took a deep breath, hoping for nothing than to smell the clean crisp winter air. Slowely she opened her eyes, allowing them to adjust to the sunlight. "Hige?" her panicked tone causing her voice to squeek.

Luce Ravenier
Anxious to do something, anything, to help, Thayne curled up under the female's chin and against her chest. He nudged her cheek gently with a soft whimper and licked her lightly. Come back, Loki. Hige needs ye...

Tahja Estes
The gamma could feel his heartrate slowly returning to a calmer pace. Hige had been grateful to see everyone so eager to jump in and help, (in fact, he shot them all one smooth grateful look as he thought this.) it helped to calm him down long enough to react properly himself.

At least, he would have, if he'd had time to before Loki started to stir again.

She had been whimpering just seconds ago, had she been having a bad sleep story? ((Sleep... story... ._.;;; *tries to hide "LBT X" reference*))

He quickly settled on Loki's other, free side, as close as he could to keep her warm as Selia said. He hadn't missed the tension his pack-mother seemed to be feeling, but he was also too concerned to consider if it was something they'd done.

He rested his head atop of hers, as hers was resting atop his paws, and Thayne was curled up at Loki's chest under HER chin. "It's alright, Loki, you're with us."

His voice was soothing, but thick with relief.

Stormy Hound
Loke looked around her, seeing her alphas, and Thayne under her. She also felt Hige's head resting top hers. She closed her eyes again and breathed a deep sigh of relief as she pressed her head against Hige's throat.

Luce Ravenier
She was awake! Awake, awake! Relief and joy flooded through the pup from his nose to the tip of his tail. He nuzzled Loki gently, careful of anything that might set her off again into another fit, and looked up at Hige with happiness.

Tahja Estes
He smiled back at Thayne, his entire body just kind of... going lax with the last of his anxiety. His tongue ran over the fur atop of Loki's head, showing both affection and relief. "Geez, Loki, you about scared us half to death." Hige half-joked, even less than half heartedly. He HAD been scared more than half to death, da**it! But it wasn't her choice or fault. He was just glad that she was alright, as were they all.

He rested his eyes, craning his neck enough so that he could nuzzle her in return. First she'd rest for a while, and then he'd dig up a den for them. He had actually forgotten almost entirely why they were coming back to the pack to sart.

He almost reluctantly lifted his head from Loki's again, looking at Devvyl almost tired. "There's a clearing back that way, past the trees." He reported once everyone could rest assured that Loki would be alright.

Stormy Hound
Loki layed there, caught between many different bodies. A dull ache was present in her head and she felt dizzy. A deep sadness came over her as she realized the pup she had left behind. -Behind where?- she asked herself, shaking off a haunting feeling. She sighed deeply and let out a whine. The sunlight hurt her eyes incredibly, she only wanted to curl up in a dark place and rest. She wondered if this was the territory Devvyl and Selia would settle in, or if they would have to travel again.

Tahja Estes
Hige licked the top of Loki's head again, trying to reassure her since he felt she must still be upset about what happened. Maybe she was in pain.

He was anxious, now, to get a den dug out for her to rest in, away from the cold, even if it was just temporary. "Loki, what happened?"

Stormy Hound
"I'm not sure." she responded softly. Truthfully she didn't know at all, but she knew what she saw and felt. She decided to leave this for later, though. Not wanting the others to think she was crazy, or too sick to deal with. It was true, she was sick, minimally. She hadn't eaten a thing but a single fish in the last few moons. Her coat was getting frazzled and scruffy, and her spine and ribs were just beginning to show. She was the runt of her litter, she thought. She was the last anyone would think would survive. -But I have so far...- she fought against her own thoughts.

Tahja Estes
"I'm not sure."

~This isn't a very good start to our pack life.~

Hige couldn't help but think.

~Not even here long enough for the sun to go down yet...~

He opened his eyes and calmed and deepened his breathing, staring ahead at the blanket of white on the ground without seeing anything. He hadn't felt fear like that since he thought Selia might get hurt, fighting Faenaro...

She was still being so quiet. The worry stirred up in Hige's brain again, eyes looking down at her as best they could from where his head rested atop hers. "You alright...?"

((Page 14! Sneaky little- XD *strangles Stormy*))

Stormy Hound
She nodded, moving her head minimally so as not to rattle her brain. "I'm alright, now." she spoke, scooting closer to him. She was angry at herself... she hated bieng the center of attention. She whined pitifully, hoping the alphas wouldn't be angry with her for disrupting the settling of the pack.

Daimyn
Not knowing what to do, Devvyl watched as his mate, Hige, and Thayne tried to bring Loki around. Apparently it worked, because he soon saw the female's eyes open, a look of fear and confusion upon her features.

Relieved, Devvyl rose. We need to get her warm, he announced. We can take her to the hill by the river, and dig a den for her there.

But below his firm, controlled surface, he was a wreck. He was the alpha of a pack, and he hadn't known what to do when one of his packmates was sick. What had happened? And what would have happened if Devvyl had continued to just sit there like an idiot, if Loki hadn't been able to awaken on her own?

Tahja Estes
"I'll start on a den for us." Hige confirmed with a nod, the sooner Loki (and Thayne, he hadn't forgotten about his 'little brother'.) got out of the chilled air, the better. "We were thinking that we'd make one under one of the trees, instead, though."

Stormy Hound
"We were thinking that we'd make one under one of the trees, instead, though."

Loki smiled at this. Of course he'd remembered she would fancy a den under a great tree, just like the one she was born in. She licked the top of Thayne's head to calm him, just in case the pup was still worried.

Daimyn
Devvyl smiled, and nodded. That's all right with me, he told them.

((...Bah, can't think of anything else. xD))

Tahja Estes
Hige felt a bit more at ease with Devvyl's permission. He didn't suspect that he'd say no without good reason, but he knew that Loki wanted a tree-bound den.

He detangled himself carefully, slipping back enough to stand, and placed his paws. His massive, furred head brushed against hers in affection. He spoke so that Devvyl, Thayne, and Selia could hear as well. He wanted them to know where they would make their home within their home. "I think that I saw one that would be perfect, on the way to the clearing."

Stormy Hound
Loki nuzzled Hige back before gingerly testing her strength. She pushed herself to a sitting position, then finally to stand beside her mate. Her head still hurt especially near her right ear, but she could still hear despite the pain. She nodded at Hige's words, and readied herself to follow him wherever he would go.

Tahja Estes
Her scent stirred within his nostrils again, along with the scents of Thayne and the others and the crisp winter air as they shifted.

"Come on, guys." Hige sent an encouraging nudge to Thayne, and a look to Loki. He turned yellow eyes to the two alpha and nodded, bowing his head and lowering his tail to show his thanks, somehow it just felt like the right thing to do.

He shot a small smile to both, then, they were still his parents after all. Once the non-verbal conversation was done Hige turned (Thayne AND Loki) his family off in the direction of the main pack-site.

Loki might need the suport still, so he kept close to her in case she needed to lean on him for strength. "There's a big tree at the bottom of the hill with the others. It's not too far from where i think the others will form their dens. It'll be perfect for all of us. Roots and strong packed dirt to help keep it warm, close to the pack... and lots of room for Thayne and our pups."

This was said with a sly undertone, though not without optimistic pride.

The trees loomed up ahead like a grand fence around the perimeter. A few large and medium trees stood out away from the treeline, their great roots having found refuge in the soil long before the younger trees.

shia-san
Soul nudged Aoiko, as she began to trot back towards were the pack was. her eyes swirling with colors as the cold winds blew across her fur. she licked at her dry nose, whimpering slightly because of the cold, then she shook it off, looking back to Aoiko, and yipping towards him to follow her. the ice was sterdy still, as she stood apoun it, able to see the claw marks she had made. she grinned slightly as she troted quickly towards selia and the others, sniffing slightly, then barking in greeting, but slowly her happy self disappeared as she looked to Loki, in the center of the small circle shaking? she whimpered, and moved towards them. 'w-What happened!?' her nose flared as she looked on. she feared that the wolf had fallen into the river. she figuared, a long while ago, that Loki was sick, when she first met her, she knew slightly something was wrong....but never did she acctually think it would affect her much. she sat, looking again, then spoke 'is there anything i can do?' her head lowered to look at Loki better.

Stormy Hound
Loki sniffed at Soul and wuffed. "Thank you for your concern, I'm alright now, I just.. I.. I don't know, really." she answered, disconcerted that she didn't even know what happened to her. She politely excused herself from the others presence and followed Hige to the area he had said he saw a perfect spot in. She was eager to have a den to hide in. Her scent was changing as mating season drew near.

shia-san
soul looked to Loki then nodded. 'alright, just....be more careful' her voice was soft as she spoke. for the few days she knew Loki, she found that Loki was a good friend. even if they hadn't talked...something about that wolf made her change at times...but she shook it off timidly, and sat panting slightly, now that she had found Loki fine, the running she did over here got to her.

her nose flared as she wiffed in many scents at a time. the she-wolfs now changing, getting ready for mating season. she let out a yawn, bareing her canines. she wondered if...possibly....she would have a mate...but no, there was no one really...he wasn't in this pack, and she hadn't seen him in a long while.... with a sigh, she looked to the pack, then to Aoiko, wondering were he had gone.

Zero Dream
Aoiko was not too far behind... coming in with a rabbit caught in his jaw. It looked like he had some trouble catching it, but eventually suceeded.

He let out a nod at Soul before heading torward Loki and Hige, letting the rabbit on the ground.

"...I heard it from there." He said, hoping the two would not see it as an insult. "Are you okay, Loki ? I tought you might be hungry... I can go again if you three want to, while you're digging your dens."

...Ill't be better that way, as he had no idea of how to dig a decent den. >_>;;;

And of course, he did notice the females' sent where changing... It didn't take a genius to figure out why, and he caught himself wondering how good of a father he could be. Not that he tought it would never happen... He barely knew any wolves, and couldn't see what redeeming qualities a female would see in him.

...And why did he think about it, anyway ? He was still way too young for that kinda stuff, right ?

Stormy Hound
Loki turned to look as she caught Aoiko's scent approaching from behind. She snuffled his neckfur in a greeting, and sat to rest. "I'm alright now, thank you Aoiko." she stared down at the rabbit, indecisive over whether she could eat it or not. "Thank you very much." she said again, feeling dumb. She leant her head to take the rabbit, thinking that at least Thayne or Hige might be hungry if she couldn't eat it.

Daimyn
Devvyl sucked at digging dens. XD!

The only one he'd dug before had been his little den beneath the tree that he and Selia had used as a temporary one before the move, and it had barely been big enough for the two of them. Den digging was a she-wolf's job (he's not being a chauvinistic p***k here, I swear :O!), something that males simply didn't have the instinct for.

And speaking of males and instinct... Selia smelled strange.

He turned his head toward her, sneaking a glance, looking for something that could have changed her scent. Beneath, she was the same old Selia, but very nearly covering that was an odd musk.

...Oh.

Tahja Estes
((Well, after Gaia ate my post XB;; here's try number two. *huff*))

Hige had noticed as well, the scent, the hinting shift of odor. It also made him feel strange, but it just gave him all the more reason to begin digging the den. It made him feel on edge, knowing that there were other males that might come sniffing around HIS mate. That in itself unnerved the gamma. He trusted the others, right? Why was it that he felt like he was going to snap at the next male that got too close to Loki, then?

He had already reached the tree by the time Loki left the group, and he'd begun pawing at the cold earth between the roots at the base of a strong oak. Thankfully it hadn't frozen over much yet, it made it easier for his paws to move the dirt aside. He didn't particularly know much about digging a den but he sure as hell knew how to dig.

So, now, here he was, this well grown wolf, (and an expert fisher *lol*) pawing at the dirt like there was no tomorrow, sending snow and earth flying out behind him. Since Loki was too tired to do this for them, he'd do as her father had done before and make a home for his family. He'd dig it deep, even if he had to dig all night. That scent was enough to egg him on to try to finish before nightfall. He was going to become quite the protective one indeed.

((P. 15 XDD *ish strangled*))

Stormy Hound
Loki took the offered rabbit and trotted away towards the tree Hige had found. Staying clear of the flying dirt and snow, she circled the tree and came around to his other side. "Aoiko brought us a rabbit, dear." she said, panting slightly. She set the rabbit down, feeling less than hungry but starving all the same. She laid down and looked up to Hige as he dug.

"Ever done this before?" she asked with a small smirk. She was only teasing, and knew he'd do just fine. She yawned and in doing so let out a small whine. -So hungry- she thought to herself.

Luce Ravenier
Hige was digging like a wolf possessed. Thayne wondered why, but then smelled Loki when she passed around.

Ah. Season, he thought. His mother had told him about that, once...

Well, if Loki was to be having pups soon, she'd need a den. And even though the dens were supposed to be dug by the females, Loki was obviously too incapacitated to do anything but rest, maybe eat. And Hige could use at least a little help...

So the tricolored pup trotted over by Hige and started digging as furiously as the tan male. Soon there were two fountains of earth flying up from the rapidly deepening hole, the sizes of which were each proportional to the wolf digging.

Surely he and Hige could dig the den deep enough, and then Loki could do with it what she wanted. Maybe then, he could go hunting... He wanted to practice rabbiting, and since Loki needed to eat anyway, the worst he could do is come back empty-pawed.

Nikui
After a bit, she'd stand and move towards Devvyl to help him with the den, slipping in beside her and beginning to dig into the ground as well...female's work, eh? If he had said that aloud, she would be nipping his a** to make him go faster with the digging. xD She glanced to him, noting that his eyes had been on her. Blinking curiously at this thought, though, since she had no idea what the hell was going on. xD;; Continuing to dig beside him, she'd move back a bit to push the extra dirt and other such stuff to the side of the growing hold in the side of the hill...before moving in beside him once more. "Only another ten or so feet to go," she teased, and nuzzled his neck.

Tahja Estes
For a moment the dirt ceased in it's trojectory. Hige looked to the tricolored pup snuffing some small bit of stray dirt from his nostrils. "Thanks, Thayne."

((EDIT: ARGH! I forgot to include Aoiko's reply AGAIN! =___=;; Forgive my spazz brain! It's the month from hell! I hate Xmas in retail! gonk ))

Golden eyes peered in the direction of the black, blue, and white teen, flickering. Hige wuffed audibly in Aoiko's direction, giving his thanks with a flicker of an ear.

"Can't say I've dug this much before, no," He smirked a bit over to Loki. He rested for a bit longer to answer her further. He shifted from paw to paw, flexing his toes and resting his claws. "Maybe Devvyl intends for us to hunt soon. I don't remember the last time that any of us had a full meal."

At this, his eyes drifted sideways to Loki again slowly. It hadn't occured to him, in all the excitement about moving......

She looked thin, no wonder she had collapsed. It was a stupid mistake and something too obvious to forget. He would take better care of her from now on. "Loki, have it for yourself." He bowed his head a bit towards the ground, showing his apology for being careless...

His stomach was protesting as well, now that things were settling down, but dedicated to his task as he was, Hige ignored it. The dirt flew once again landing in a growing lumps behind the two. Eventually it was going to spill over and merge into one pile. With the two of them working the den would be dug in almost close to no time. Maybe Devvyl wanted some help after they finished there...?

Daimyn
..Of course, just because Devvyl wasn't as good at digging as most females didn't mean he wouldn't be happy to help his mate. xD!

He crouched inside the already good-sized hole, shoveling dirt out with his forepaws and flinging it carelessly outside with his hindlegs. As the hole got deeper, he got more playful, and as Selia's remark left her lips he began scooting over more and more, eventually trying to pin her against the far wall... as well as simply wanting to be close to her. wink Looking up, he gave her a wolven grin in play.

Nikui
She stuck her tongue out at him and pushed him back..before pressing him back, out of the good sized hole, and jumping at him...obviously tackling him to the ground and licking his muzzle, sitting upon his stomach while she pinned him on his back..her front paws resting against his chest. "I win?" She smirked at him, her ears giving a light flick at this. Moving off of him, she thwapped him on the head with her ebony tinted tail.

Stormy Hound
Loki smiled at Hige before sniffing at the rabbit. Suddenly her stomach heaved, but she was ready. She sighed to herself, she would starve to death if she didn't eat soon. Her mind couldn't process why her stomach felt so horribly towards food.

-DAMMIT!- she screamed to herself, and ripped suddenly into the rabbit. She snarled and growled ferociously as she forced herself to eat it all. When she was done, she snuffed the bones away with her nose and plopped her head down on her paws, growling at her stomach to keep it down.

Daimyn
Devvyl gazed up into his mate's eyes, a silly grin plastered over his face. For now, he assured her, returning to work.

Her scent was intoxicating, now that he was in the den with her, closer than ever. But he pushed the thought away for now; there were other, more important, matters at hand.

Like the fact that his stomach was grumbling, for one. He couldn't remember the last full meal he'd had, and he didn't know about anyone else, but he was hungry.

Tahja Estes
Okay.

Now Hige was offically worried. >_>

His nose pressed lightly against and through her neck fur. He had stopped digging in favor of approaching his mate in concern. He wanted to help, but he wasn't a mind reader, and inexperienced with illness to boot. She'd have to tell him what it was that was bothering her in order for him to try to find a solution.

.... and what if this was something that wouldn't fix itself over time? That thought... plagued his mind. He wasn't used to thinking such dark, heavy thoughts all the time. It made it more unnerving and difficult to figure things out.

Hige watched her with the eyes of a hawk for a while, pushing aside the scent that had begun to flood his nostrils again... "Loki..."

Stormy Hound
Loki stared at her mate. She was aware she was worrying him insane. She got up and motioned for him to follow her, then walked in the other direction - away from the others. Feeling like they had gone a far enough distance, she seated herself under a tree, leaning against it for comfort. She took a deep breath.

"I'm sick." she started. "I don't know what with, but I can't eat without a lot of force and effort. I guess.. I guess that not having any food as a pup and then the long journey here, it just became hard to eat, my body got used to not." She felt confused, and hoped Hige was making sense of what she was trying to say. "When I fell in the clearing I saw horrible things..." she faltered, and couldn't go on. She had no idea how to describe it or explain it.

Nikui
She'd shrug at him, before hearing his stomach growl...bottomless pit, she swore it. xD She looked to him, arched a brow, and snickered.."Ready for a hunt?" She questioned him, and would back out of the growing den, before looking in the direction of Loki and Hige...Loki wasn't getting any better, but she wasn't getting worse, either. She sighed, and looked back to her mate. "Hm, well, you can keep digging," she taunted, nuzzling into his spine.."I'll go find a herd. I'll give a call when I find one, maybe we can all catch something and be full for the next day or so while we continue to settle in."

Daimyn
Of course, Devvyl returned dryly. Go out and have fun but leave me here to slave for suns and suns digging our den. He grinned, tongue lolling out in a display of jest.

Nikui
She pushed him with her hind leg, and would roll her eyes at him. "Ah, you wont die of heat." She teased, and turned around, nipping his tail while he stood inside the 'den'. "After we eat, I'll help you out some more. We need to make it big, there may be lots of pups." She laughed at him, knowing that they were both thinking of pups at this point. Resting her head against his back, her own tongue lulled from her ebony lips, looking towards him.

"Everyone'll have little ones running around."

Kouseki
He had been sitting outside the den trying to pay attention to what Hige and Loki were doing, but got lost in thought and wactched a butterfly land on his nose. With a small sneeze he would plop onto his rear and wait for the hunt. His stomach had been growling too, and he was tired of waiting. But, he had to wait for his sister, to help her out. If she would let him. >>;

Luce Ravenier
With a snort to clear the dirt from his nostrils, Thayne backed out of the hole in the ground and sat down in the snow. He kept his eyes on Hige and Loki from the opposite side of the den, his brows furrowed in an un-puppylike show of concern and concentration. He wasn't getting much progress made on the den without Hige's help, but he wasn't getting anything done sitting in the snow, either.

He crouched down and stuck his nose in the snow, snuffled around a bit and tossed some up in the air. It settled on the top of his head and his ears. He looked a mite curious, sitting there under his powdered snow blanket.

Lesotho
(I feel the urge to post even if Tweek isn't around)

Whinn gazed around the new terrain. All around her sounds were loud and strange; the sounds of claws digging into the soft earth that laid richly beneath the vegetation, encompassing everything below it's surface. There was another familiar sound; one that soothed her. The sound of water. Her nose cast high in the air, she scented it out. Turning down a small windy path she trode swiftly, soon coming to the edge. Her eyes flickered to life as she saw the water flowing by her feet. A smile warmed her chilled body, giving her goosebumps which made her shake her pelt clean. It was like her river had come with her! It was more than a comfort, evidentally. She stepped into the chilled water with a delicate paw, shivering with delight. Perfect, she thought, trying to hide a grin.

shia-san
Soul moved towards Aoiko, licking at his head. her eyes closing slightly. he brought Loki food....he's been hunting. she smiled, he's growing fast now. and soon, he will mate with a she-wolf, and then he will be gone...forever? who knows, not Soul, she's more conserned with the present. about Aoiko....his well being...thats what mattered....yet, she seemed as though she needed to care for more then just her personal needs...she WAS part of a pack.....

Daimyn
((Sorry for my absense, guys. o.o sweatdrop ))

Devvyl glanced up at his mate, and nodded slowly. Including us, hopefully, he added with a wink, and resumed digging.

Zero Dream
Aoiko licked back playfully, grinning a little. It was like he somehow knew, and tried to calm down his inner worries. He liked her too much to just plain dissapair from her world...

He pawed at the snow, sniffing at it, and visibely content that it only brought familiar smells to his noze.

"...Shouldn't we need a den too, mama ? It doesn't seem like ill't stop snowing anytime soon..."

Nikui
She nodded to this, and would watch as he continued his digging, before smirking. "I'll go catch us a meal." She taunted and would trot off in the direction of a herds' scent. She gave out a long howl, calling for any pack members that were about who may want to join in.

Of course, none of them had eaten much since they had gotten there, so this would be a good pack-bonding time thingy.

shia-san
Soul nodded to Aoiko. 'that we do, we might as well make our own, not sure we'll all fit in one' she giggles. like they would be able to come into the others den. the two of them, Aoiko and Soul, were really just followers. not part of the PACK...or thats what soul felt. she looked to the side, it was close to the others, and it was hidden, were little snow was coming towards. she moved towards the spot, sniffing slightly, she then began to dig at the spot. the snow was fling from underneith her. she was wanting to make it big enough for at least Aoiko, she would end up sleeping outside if it came to were she was to tired to build the rest.

Soul quickly heard the howl, but she resented going, and tugged at Aoiko's fur to keep him here. she didin't want him to go hunting with out her...she didn't want to loose him....

shia-san
Soul's stomache growled slightly. she looked up to Aoiko, longing eyes, she wanted to hunt. she needed to. she licked at his muzzle quickly, and then she spoke 'Aoiko, i need to go hunt. our stomaches had been empty for a long while. i will fetch us food, and hopefully, you will get full, as will I. i need you to stay though, i need someone to build a den, and its now, for this one time, your duty. please, build one to your liking, and i will improve it to were i can sleep, accompaning you.' she turned away from him quickly, not giving him much choice. she didn't want to lose him, so she wanted him to stay away from hunting prey in which can hurt or kill him. she saw it before...but she wasn't going to let it happen to him. she quickly barked back to Selia, taking a long sprint towards her, and then slowing down, licking at her own paws, the cuts on them now showing. the snow was now getting to her, and it was getting bad. she then looked fowards. food will be hard to find...but they will search...

Tahja Estes
((*finally gets off her arse to post*))

A low whine softly escaped from behind the clamped jaws of Hige's muzzle. His tail, normally held in a casual stance, drooped and hung limp behind him, almost moving between his legs. How could he not have realized sooner that she needed food?

He stepped forward, into her circle of personal space, and brushed his head against hers, letting his throat rest over her neck. "We'll get through this together, Loki. Whatever you saw, it was only a sleep-story. It can't possibly hurt you."

Her changing scent was strong in his nostrils, making the urge to bury his nose further into her fur even harder to ignore. Thus he did so, settling on his haunches before her, ignoring the cold ground.

Stormy Hound
Loki sat, then layed down, curled between Hige's legs. "I know, but it was just so real... there was a pup." she sighed, hoping it wasn't some horrible foreshadowing of things to come. "I didn't want to leave the pup in such a terrible place, but I had no control." She yawned and in doing so, lifted her head up to nuzzle his chestfur. "I.. I'm kind of hungry" she said softly.

Tahja Estes
The gamma took the opprotunity to lick her forehead, as she settled down almost beneath him. "It was just a sleep story... Thayne is the only pup with us now, and he's fine...."

But what if it was a memory...?

He rumbled lazily somewhere deep in his throat, encouraging. "I'll get something for the three of us to eat, it sounds like Selia is calling anyhow." Probably for a hunt. "Let's get you settled back into the den, it's not much right now, but when I get back I'll finish it." He snuffled softly into her ear.

Stormy Hound
Loki whined softly, pushing back into him for warmth. She suddenly felt very cold, almost as if a ghost had passed right through her. "Alright..." She agreed somewhat apprehensively, not wanting to be left behind.

Luce Ravenier
The tricolored pup had already headed off a little ways into the surrounding trees in search of a rabbit or some other small game. He was hungry, Loki was hungry, surely Hige was hungry... Only a little bit of hunting would remedy that.

He crouched behind a bush and sniffed quietly, looking for a rabbit with his nose, but found nothing. Knock it, he thought irritably to his softly grumbling stomach. Never get anythin' done if y' don' shut it.

Tahja Estes
Despite what he said, with Loki's actions... he hesitated, keeping close to her. It was hard to tell with their fur, but she seemed cold.

~She needs the strength.~ He told himself, torn between staying with her and going to find food. He didn't want to chance her getting hurt or passing out again, but she obviously didn't want him to part from her yet....

.....

He settled his weight carefully again, lying down with her curled against his chest, then rested his head over hers. He'd stay with her for a while longer, to warm her, and to reassure her.

Zero Dream
...And before he could even get a word in, Soul was gone.

...Ohboy.

Aoiko glanced sideways at the started hole, a "what the HELL do I do now ?" look on his face as he padded over to it, sniffing and peeking... starting to dig, the semi-frozen earth flying from under him and landing in the front, working out a decent distance before working on getting the hole wider, so that they could both fit. Or at least attempting to, whimping and shaking his head as he just accidentally threw a pawful of earth in his face.

"mrrrrrrr" Loki rested her head on her crossed paws. Hige was right, it was only a sleep-story. It would all be ok. She would let him go hunt, and wait for his return. She almost couldn't wait to eat, feeling a new hope inside her. "I bet we look silly" a sly smile plastered over her maw.

((Yo, this is page 17 O_O))

shia-san
Soul quickly glanced to Aoiko from her spot by selia. she smiled, then looked to the forest once more. ready to get food.

Zero Dream
...Well, he had to admit it was an instructive experience, if anything else.

Just keep digging and digging and digging and digging~~~ Yip.

Tahja Estes
"Well, then..." He snuffled into her ear, reveling in the feelings of warmth that her proximity brought. "I guess someone will get a kick out of seeing us like this.... you know... if anyone comes by."

You'd better go hunt before night falls again...

Hige sighed, knowing the voice of reason was right. He shifted his neck so that he could nudge her with his nose, urging her up. "It's not much right now, but you should wait in the den where it's at least a little more warm."

Stormy Hound
Loki shifted to get up. Hige was right, he should go hunt and she should stay. There would be plenty time for her to hunt alongside him when she felt better. "Alright, lets head back then." she murmured.

Tweek
(( UHG. Pardon my insanely long absence. I've been a busy little treefrog. *throws self at all your feet* crying heart *tries to make up with a doublepost* ))

Whinn

There came a snuffling sound from the opposite side of the stream. The bushes parted and a fluffed black head poked out, triangular ears perking forwards in happiness. Yero's wine-red eyes shone with delight as he padded towards his mate lightly. "Looks like your river followed you here," He gave a happy laugh and from the rumbling sound came: "I don't blame it," He cautiously extended a paw with surprising dexterity and tested the water, wrinkling his nose as he found it a bit too chilly for his liking. Placing his front limbs on a half-submerged slab of shale he leaned forward far enough to give her cheek a clumsy nuzzle. His feathered tail waved back and fourth in a few energetic beats, the cold weather had him full of energy.

Elphaba's ears pricked up as she heard Selia sound a call. She heaved herself to her feet in a rapid motion, then stood stock still. Her mind wandered in a blur as she waited for the dizzyness of the abrupt jerk to wear off. She pursed her lips, 'mmm'-ing to herself. What was she doing? Right--answering Selia's call. She should go help hunt. Elphaba didn't move. Why was she still standing still?

Okay! Move!

Elphaba jerked a few fast bounds forward, then settled into a quick trot, shaking her head violently as if mad at her own thoughts. The blur in her mind seemed to disperse. At least temporarily. Damn this nonsense. 'Heat'. Whatever strange spell came over wolves and made them think of nothing but pups...and pertaining them via the opposite sex. It didn't help that she was now living in extremely close quarters with her old flame. Elphaba snorted loudly. Devil was Selia's. That had been settled once and for all. She could handle herself. She hoped.

( dunDunDUN! Elphaba's gonna be a little loopy for a while. xd Her thinking machine is slowing down for the winter. Obviously in her regular state she wouldn't even think of chasing after Dev. Just tossing in some craziness. xB )

Luce Ravenier
[[ Just so everyone knows, I'm now on break! 4laugh I'll be home for a couple weeks, still with highspeed Net access, but I'll be on most of the time now after 8pm EST to 10-11pm EST. Probably for more steady periods of time, too. Except on Saturdays, when I don't have to work the next day and get to stay up late. whee See you guys! ]]

shia-san
Soul quickly looked towards Elphie. her head cocking to the side. she let out a snort and then looked to Selia. awaiting her request. she thought quickly, about pups. her mind was racing. she wasn't sure why this sudden thought of them was coming into mind. since she couldn't remember the last time she was in 'heat', so this was some what new. she sat, shaking her head slightly, then she panted, looking at Selia again.

Lesotho
(Tweek! There you are! biggrin !!)

Whinn looked up in suprise, her ears canting toward the bushes in front of her. A light frown graced her features which melted away to a smile when she saw the familiar face of Yero. She gave a wuff in greeting happily, her tail beginning to beat steadily back and forth. "Why yes, yes it did!" She couldn't have been happier. She had her river AND Yero! What luck! She watched him curiously as he found the water too cold for his liking. She laughed inwardly, not finding it terribly chilling. As he leaned over, she set her paws on the muddy bottom of the thin stream, leaning easily to him and exchanging a more graceful nuzzle for his clumsy one. She smiled, nosing behind his ear gently. If he had a handle she'd pull him over the water but she couldn't find a suitable place. "C'mere... we have to find a place for a den before all the good spots are taken!" the urgency in her voice was mocked, though a slight serious under tone was still present. She wanted to get down to business.

Tweek
xd Elphie: Amen, sistah! *melodramatic flourish of ignoring Isaac* X)

The feigned urgency in Whinn's tones made Yero stand at attention, thrusting his large shoulders forward in similar importance. "Well, we'll just have to hurry then," He wuffed, his tongue lolling as he moved to hop to the other bank. His steps were a little misjudged, not being as familiar with water, and he saved Whinn some of the trouble of pulling him in after all. Finding footing on the other side, he pranced about in a military vain and swished his tail, though the water had taken some of it's usual majesty away. (*snort*)

"Where does one find a densite anyway?" He barked playfully to her.

Lesotho
Whinn laughed quietly as Yero made his graceful dive, missing the bank. She laughed more when he pranced about, jumping out of the way so as not to be splashed as he pranced by. When his tail swished, she closed her eyes, droplets of water hitting her face harmlessly. She kept the giggling to a minimum at the fact that he looked rediculous.

"I don't know" she said honestly, glancing around. She inwardly was thinking a den by the stream as a comfort and reminder... but it may flood come spring. Thoughts of spring popped more thoughts into her head. She thought of a den, warm and snug. She thought of... puppies. There it was again! She couldn't get it from her head. It being the season she found herself in heat and puppies was all she could think about! She cursed at herself for it, but it was true. She wondered what they'd look like. Who they'd take after. How many and what genders. She couldn't stop it at all. No control. She shook her head, the thoughts dispersing.

Nikui
Okay, food. They needed food. Hunt hunt, time skipping, cause Mun is lazy. She'd return dragging along a large deer...who knows whose deer it was. >_> But, Selia would bring it back to the middle of the packlands, which was were most of the dens were, before calling for her mate...and probably anyone else who may be around.

Giving a whuff, she'd seat herself, panting heavily while waiting for the rest of the pack to come and eat...she didn't pull off ranking right now, it was too big of a pack for that...and this was a large kill, so everyone would be able to eat...Of course, for now, she decided...that she had to be careful who to let near. "Pups first!" She called, and would sigh.

Zero Dream
Aoiko poked his head out of the den he was digging, ears wriggeling at Selia's call. When she called again, for the pups, he turned and started digging again, he had more time...

...Idely, he couldn't help but wonder where Soul had gone... She had been gone awhile... But he shouldn't worry about her, right ? She's an adult, she knows what she is doing... right ?

Nikui
While this happened, she'd wait for the pups to eat, before calling for anyone else who wanted to get a full stomach before continuing to dig their dens. "Anyone else?" She called in her echoing howl, waiting an answer all the while.

Sighing, she'd n** at the corpse, and rip off small bitesize pieces to fill her belly, before taking off a large amount, and bringing it to her mate. Dropping it down before him, she smirked at him, "Break time?"

Daimyn
((LET'S DO THE TIME WARP AGAAAAAAIIIIINNN!!!! biggrin ))

By this time, Devvyl had dug a rather large den, with room enough for himself, his mate, and the family they would start sometime soon, hopefully. The entrance was large enough for only one fully grown wolf to slip through at a time, and with rocks, grass, snow, and forest debris scattered over it, it would be easy to hide if the need ever arose.

Finished, he replied as he slipped outside, vigourously shaking himself to rid his pelt of the dirt and mud. Surveying the mess he'd made outside, made of flung-about dirt, mud, and filthy snow, he shrugged, and gave Selia a protective nuzzle.

Nikui
"So much for a female's work, hm?" She questioned, and nuzzled back into him, giving a n** to his neck. "It looks great," she smirked at him, and seated herself, her tail lightly swaying around behind her. "The others should be finishing soon," she commneted, licking his head, while cleaning some of the mud off of his pelt.

Daimyn
Devvyl grinned and let her comment go, too tired for now to retaliate with something other than simply a well-placed nudge.

I wonder how they're coming, he wondered aloud before bending down and ripping off a strip of the meat, swallowing it whole.

Nikui
"They just stopped for food, hopefully we can all get a good rest in a nice warm den..all of us. I may go around later and help some of the others out, though I'm not sure how that'll go." She smiled at his nudge, and leaned against him, licking his ear.

"If you want more, there's a large deer over there that I got. It should feed most of the pack."

Daimyn
Devvyl's ears twitched at the mention of his mate going around helping others. It wasn't that he was wary of what she would do, it was that he was wary of what others would try to do. How dare other males try to steal his mate?!

But then he reminded himself that nothing had happened yet, and nothing would happen. Why was he acting like this? He told himself to calm down, and looked up at her. Thank you, love, he told her, giving her ear a playful n**.

Zero Dream
After Selia's second call, the adolecent emerged from the den, and padded in the snow, torward the deer. It was most important that the pups had ate first, even he knew and respected this. Maybe that was what growing up all about, really ?

Bowing his head sightly both in respect in thankfullness to the female alpha before she left, Aoiko tore some meat from the deer, stepping off in order to allow easy access to the others, laying down in the snow and grawing off at the meat. The meal was most welcome, he was getting quite hungry after all...

His yellow eyes looked torward the den. It was getting pretty big, it would soon be done. A small wolfish smile formed onto his face, yet he still wondered where his adoptive mother was. Maybe she was with a friend ? Could be...

His worry intermixed with calm as he tried to bring himself to think that everything was allright. But there was always a small bit of his mind worrying, this worry only able to be cleared at his mother's safe return.
