Well that went well. He watched him try and catch one of the fish and noticed that his mood got even worse. "Well ya know, who wants to talk anyway? How 'bout a game!" Vis stretched out his neck and playfully nipped at Haya's shoulder before dancing out of the water and grinning back at him. "Come on, Haya, can't catch an old man like me?" He teased as he pranced back and forth.

"Hey!" Haya shook his mane out indignantly and bounded up the bank. "You may have a weird horn but that doesn't make you any better than me!" His frustration turned into energy and he bounded towards Vis on his gangly colt legs. He wasn't going to let someone tease him like that and get away with it! Thoughts of his missing father fled from his mind when confronted with this new challenge. Vis was going to be sorry that he messed with him!

"I didn't say you were better than me, I was just seeing if you were faster!" And with that he bounded off, almost as if he was a colt himself again. "Besides, I have a weird horn and you have a weird tail so we're both weird." He stuck his tongue out playfully and flicked his tail back and forth happily.

"My tail isn't weird!" called Haya back. He had never met anyone else with a tail like it but he hadn't met many people yet. There were probably plenty of other soquili with a tail like his! These thoughts were rushed away as he tried to push through a low-lying bush only to get caught in it's branches. It took several fierce wiggles to get out and by then he had lost his built up momentum. That didn't stop him from charging after Vis, but this time avoiding any leafy traps.

Vis held his head down with a grin on his face, legs outspread and his butt almost up in the air as if he was a playful puppy. He waited for Haya to get closer before dodging out of the wall like a manador avoiding a charging bull. "C'mon Haya I know you can take me down!"

Haya had been so close that time! He knew he could catch that big silly stallion if he could only turn a little faster... He wheeled around for another pass and felt like a one-colt stampede with his target a rainbow unicorn. If he passed by close enough but still missed he was going to try to wrap his tail around Vis' leg. He certainly wouldn't be expecting that!

Vis decided to let the colt have his victory and took the charge full on, before toppeling over, possibly a little overdramatically. "Okay you got me! Go easy on me, I want to live!" He coughed and his head collapsed on the ground, his tongue hanging out as he played dead.

Haya seemed deliberately unaware of Vis' overacting. He reared back and planted his feet proudly on Vis' belly, tail waving victoriously over his head. "That's what you get for messing with me!" He hopped off the belly and pranced in a proud circle around Vis. "I'll let you live as long as..." He paused for a moment to consider his conditions. "As long as you don't mess with me again!"

Viscoso grinned. "Oh thank you, you are so kind for sparing me. I won't forget this kind deed you have done for me!" He slowly stood up and even wobbled a little to add to his acting. "Ya know what?" He bent his head down to Haya's level. "I have a feeling you're gonna be a really fast runner when you're older. You're already faster than I expected." Smiling, he nudged the colt's neck and headed back over to the stream to get a drink after their little romp.

Haya followed in Vis' hoofsteps back to the river, watching his long tail swish behind him. Maybe Vis was right... did he have a strange tail? Haya glanced back at his long serpentine tail and thought about all the other soquili he had met. None of them had a tail like his. His mother had told him it came from his father... so were he and his father the only ones with that sort of tail in the world?
It was too bad his father couldn't have been someone like Vis, someone fun who would play with him when he was bored. "You should stay with me and mom," said Haya decisively. "I like you."

He chuckled and looked back to Haya. "You know, that would be really fun but I'd probably get on your mom's nerves. Having some strange stallion around and all. But I'm sure we'll play a lot and see each other. Besides, you need to have time with your mom too." He smiled and blew air in his face playfully before leaning down to get a drink.

Haya's ears drooped a little but it was more out of annoyance than sadness. "Yeah... you'd bug Mom. All she ever talks about is being nice to people, not having fun and stuff. It's real boring. You're a lot more fun, even if you're big and hairy and slow!" He reached out to tug at the stallion's tail sneakily, preparing to bounce backwards if Vis retaliated back.

Vis flicked his long tail at Haya and lifted up his head as he looked back at him. "Well being nice to people is something you need to learn as you grow but I'm sure she has fun with you once in a while. And you're gonna be big and hairy someday too so ha." He snorted playfully and flicked his tail again.

"Not as hairy as you." Haya couldn't imagine himself enjoying such a long mane. It would just get in the way and get in his face. His mane was already long enough to be annoying. He tossed it over to the other side of his neck to see if that made a difference. Nope. Still annoying. "I'll get rid of my hair if it ever gets that long... maybe I'll bite it off..."

Viscoso laughed and shook his long mane out. "Bite it off, huh? You'd probably get a hairball if you did that." He looked up to the sky and noticed that the sun was close to the setting point and the sky would begin it's color changes soon. "You should probably head home, Haya. I'll take you if you want me to." He smiled and walked over to stand beside his friend.
