Furze's hands slipped and he landed on his rear, thin legs sprawled out. He shook his head with a grin. "They pro'ly don't know. They sleeping." He had some difficulty getting back onto his hooves, but when he managed it he shuffled around to where it seemed that she was indicating. "See... weed?" His pale eyebrows lowered in confusion. "What that?" He tugged experimentally on her fin and giggled at the strange texture. "Weed?"

"well when they wake up they will sure know-OW" she flinched as pain shot though her fin. glancing back to see what happend, wondering if a crab had come by to give her a piece of its mind, but no, it was the little Cervitaur. "oh careful little hero" she said, concerned with how delicate she was getting. "its what this monster's name is" she explained, rolling onto her back "Seaweed. because it comes from the Sea."

Pretending to get what she meant and continuing to the next order of business, the cervitaur looked for the monster's end. End? What was that? Its tail, probably. He poked it with some distaste. Kind of a boring monster. It didn't even have any scary teeth or anything. But it was still a monster and he was still a hero.
He circled the messy dark mass and looked for a tail. It was a very confusing blob but after a bit more poking around he found a scraggly tail thing and pulled on it delightedly. "Gotcha, monster! Gotcher tail!"

"oh good! good! now pull on it and try to unwrap it from around me!" she tried to twist her head around so she could see what the little one was doing. but not only was that not getting her anywhere, it was actually rather painful, the dread was building up in her. she had to get back to the water, she could not last much longer like this.

It was more luck than any sort of thought process that caused Furze to pull the monster's tail in the right direction. In any case, some of the seaweed unstuck from Lavyn's body, freeing one of her arms. He dragged a big clump of it away, giggling "Ewwwwww!" and throwing it as far as he could, which was about two feet. "Take that, monster!" He busied himself for a moment with kicking the seaweed until it was looking very bedraggled and covered with sand. Then he returned to her side, positively beaming. "Monster's all flat!" he proclaimed.
