Wii4Mii Daxelman Wii4Mii Daxelman Wii4Mii You take the white pill, and you're as high as Daxelman.
Aw hell yea boi, this s**t fo real son!
Sorry, man, I'm above the influence. I'll stick to my slomming.
*ahem* back on topic.
Okami, and Viva Pinata are nice Examples too. So is My Sims.
Yeah, but from what I've seen MySims is your basic point&click. Plus it looks like complete a** all the way around, technically and creatively. I think what Mr. Jawes is basically getting at is would you prefer looking at a game like Metroid Prime 3 that has these incredible, immersive, colorful environments but still has jaggies and whatnot, or would you prefer looking at a game like Gears of War where everything is scary-smooth, high pixel count, near photo-realism, but the color palette and environments are dull. I have to say, in that situation, I'd choose a game like MP3 every time. And then I see games like Folklore and think, "I'll still go with the best of both worlds."

Creativity is most important. Though graphics add to gameplay, graphics themselves cannot make up for a bad game.
Having said that, there's many a game that has both... -insert shameless Viva Pinata namedrop- and with today's technology/ideas/companies, there's no reason to sacrifice one for the other.

Unless you're making a game on the Wii of course.

Wii4Mii Daxelman Arvis_Jaggamar Um, both? Can't I have both?
You Can, But if you couldn't, like America worked they way.
Either one or the other.
You take the Blue Pill, and you go back to looking at "so so" graphics and "so so" creativity.
You take th Red Pill, I'll show you the true meaning of HD.
You take the Green Pill, and Awesomesause won't describe the creativity.
You take the Black Pill, and welcome to the Matrix.
You take the white pill, and you're as high as Daxelman. QFT

I expect both but since I'm often disapointed in that matter usually I say: Creativety
A game with awesome creativeness can look like crap but can still be amazing!! Also, graphics are not always needed. For example: Once you beat Okami you can get these lil trailers which show you how Okami would have looked had they gone for higher graphics rather than the gorregous art. It didn't look right, and had they gone with the graphics I don't think Okami would have been hailed as much as it is.
A game with great graphics...needs more. If it has great graphics and not much else...it's usually...crap. At first it's beloved because everything looks so friggen awesome, but after a few hours...it's an average game.
Superjaws: PS2 was not weak in any sense of the word. If it was weak, it would not have the largest friggen library of the three. Hate to burst your bubble there but the GC was the weakest of the three.

I think he meant "weak" in regards to number-crunching processing power, in which case he is right, the PS2 had the weakest processor of the Big Three.

I guess its like Crysis VS Mario Galaxy. Or Killzone 2 VS Spore. But it is possible to put creativity and originality into games that have amazing graphics. There are many people whi think that Super Mario Galaxy is the best looking game on the Wii, and it has very original gameplay and enviromental effects. Ok, Super Mario Galaxy does nook any near as good as Crysis, but it is not bad and the Wii can only handle so much as far as graphics goes. Hay if Nintendo can do it, why not anybody else.

Ok, Super Mario Galaxy does nook any near as good as Crysis, but it is not bad and the Wii can only handle so much as far as graphics goes. Hay if Nintendo can do it, why not anybody else. Bad comparison. Mario Galaxy, while it doesn't kill my PC when I stupidly flip on max settings, doesn't let me punch down a tree at the base then fling it up into the air. Afterwards immediately rush down into the little village, kill everyone, then catch the tree before it ever hits the ground and slam it into the last guy alive. The physics engine in that thing is insane at times.
When you start talking about sandbox-ish games, well at least the first half of Crysis, you can't really do much since it becomes all about what the player does. Also, are you really comparing Spore to Killzone 2? Nevermind the fact that both games aren't out, and that there is relatively little information but they're no where near the same genre. You would'a been better off going with Ratchet v. Galaxy and a really good looking RTS v. Spore.
Then again that stirs up a whole new argument.

Spore will be a very original game but does not look all that great, and Killzone 2 will be a very good looking game but not as original as spore. Its the same with Crysis VS Mario Galaxy, Originality vs Graphics.

Its the same with Crysis VS Mario Galaxy, Originality vs Graphics. Then you killed your argument since the original Mario was derivative of Joust and Spore is derivative of many monster games that came before. Plus, you could argue that Mario Galaxy took parts of other platforms and made it into the whole game. Parts of SMG work just like the Grav-Ramps in Ratchet for example, which in turn can then be attributed to something else.
Everything "original" can be traced back to something. Nothing is truly original.
Also, Crysis is more than just graphics.
