Ive had bleached blonde/ white hair before, it was wonderful, but then I have pale skin and was going for much more of a Kyo from Dir en Grey look than a Ganguro girl look.....

Plutokat girl_no_13 *eep* the Ganguro girls in Fruits scare me, the make up is so ridiculous that they bear a slight resemblance to clowns- one of the things I'm scared of! The clothes arent that bad though sometimes. I wonder if ganguro will come to the UK and America? it kinda already is.... ganguros and Kogals base there look and manner around valley girls in california kogals and ganguros are a very exagerated version of california valley girls.

Brenli Being a girl of many different styles, I consider ganguro to be one of the more shocking yet cute and fun styles out there. I would participate in the fashion to a degree, though I must admit that the idea of bleaching my virgin-tohairdye hair is frickin' frightening to me. Yeah it is shockin and kind of cute in an odd sort of way. I agree with the others that the more elaborate makeup is kind of scarying. But to have it done in a more simple manner would be cool. I dont know if I could get that tan or do my hair that blonde, but I find the fashion really interesting. I would do it to a degree. Why not lol... Though "valley" girls scare me!

Geez, I could get that tan if I stood outside for just a couple hours... I hate the tanning gene. I don't really want it! You want it? And the valley girls do scare me, too... I have just read the fisrst volume of the manga Peach Girl, poor Momo! Im not siure, but I think that everytime someone comments on her pale hair and tanned skin they are talking about Ganguro girls. Or possibly prostitutes, unless Ganguro girls have a reputation for being easy, Im not sure. I find this amusing: Something Awful Ganguro article. Beware: Something Awful can be very funny, but it can also be hugely offensive! However, this article would only be offensive to fans of Ganguro, not the general public.

I've heard it died out, and that not many Japanese themselves are fond of it (told to me by a Japanese exchange student). It's just overall *shudders* whenever I see it. It should be buried and forgotten.

ekk, i just dont like the tanning part. the make up is ok... ><;; but when you mix the dark skin and white make-up it looks annoying and uh.... out there <<;;

They wear just silly(and a lot) of make-up they do look like clowns. I dont like the style and never will. I think I'm to sick of seeing young teenage girls looking like that where I live. Plus I just dont like how the whole style looks.
