I don't know what to say really... a bunch of people keep saying that Paramore is an "emo" band, they're all depressed and they cut themselves.. I'll admit that a few of their songs come off as emo but I highly doubt that they cut themselves... they have to much of a good time to cut themselves

lol i dont even care/listen to what they labelled..who cares like seriously...one of their gigs in the uk that i was watching they were like hey hey lets slow it down a bit cause after we are sposed to be some sort of emo band then hayley laughs(obviously making fun of it) so if they dont care what they get labelled because they know who and what they are why should we. theres always going to be people label you something you're not..

I don't even get what emo is.. Its like.. MCR sound like plenty of bands i know that aren't classed as emo, but they're called emo?
Explain to me? D:
And why do people that don't know me call me emo? I don't listen to emo music, I listen to Metal(&Paramore Etc.) D:

i get calle 'emo' alot too. and to me 'emo' is and only a genre of music but not every band that the media says is 'emo' really are 'emo' and foe me 'emo' music well i love it. it says my emotions so i dont half to explain them. yes Paramore's lyrics are emotional but their music is not 'emo.'

in my opinion, emo is dead. it isn't your cliche "cut my wrists, black my eyes", tight pants, black shirts look. it was a music genre that existed in the 80's with bands such as Sunny Day Real Estate.
no band today is emo, even though people call them "emo" because of the angsty lyrics, tight pants-look, etc.
most of the mainstream bands that people nowadays like such as Fall Out Boy, MCR, Panic!, Paramore, are just pop-rock.

I definitely agree that they are more Alternative then Emo or Punk. They may have music/lyrics that belong in that sort of feeling or category, but they have music on them being happy, too.
Paramore is just so unique. heart

"Emo" is just a form of music,a stereotype, example of an "Emo" band,Fall Out Boy,because THEY labeled themselves that. Paramore is an Alternative band. A band classifies what they are,and FOB did that. People called them "Emo",they agreed to it,and held that title proudly. Paramore is not "Emo",whoever said that is in the wrong musical catagory. The "cut themselves" thing, never existed. People do it because they have problems that they can't solve.

I agree with losts of people. The people who labeled them obvisiouly has never heard a song of Paramore in their life! as long a they know their not emo and the fans know they are emo then who cares what the media says!
