But Chibi is a generalist. XD *is having flashbacks of those Wamu small business specialist commercials*
Yes though there is this one fic I like which is pure dialog. The writer makes the words count, and it's a humor one shot. Sadly, very few writers can pull this off well enough. It wasn't that long, and an FFVII fic. Zack/Cloud

I'd just like to ditto everything on all these lists. xD
And add - vampires in GENERAL. hell. esp. ROMANTIC vampires.

Yes! God, am I hating vampires right now. I nag them any chance I get, which is why my writing partner has challenged me to write a vampire short that I think doesn't suck. But... how can that be possible? Vampires suck big green donkey. I'm a wereworlf fan, myself... smile

X.x I haven't read many vampire stories (original and fan fiction) that I thought were good. Many of them had so many cliches especially about some big bad vampire falling for a beautiful human girl. I still like Vampire: the Masquerade, but that's a role playing game.

Yep, VM was the only good one I can remember in a long while. Then again, that was largely in the 80's I believe...

I think V:tM is the 90's. X.x They stopped making them a year or two ago. Before then, it was Vampire: the Dark Ages. For some reason, I wanna write a multi-chap fic with FFVII and V:tM. Why's that?

I actually don't mind vampires, as long as they are gory and disgusting, bloated creatures, like Dracula. I dislike the Eclipse series because all you hear Isabella "Bella" talking about is how Edward looks. I've got it, okay! He's 'hot.' I do not need five chapters of
"He golden eyes were burning as his wispy hair seemed to float atop stone cold skin..."
Enough.

Homygods! *runs off in the opposite direction and fast*
Seriously. Normal people don't have golden eyes or at least I don't think so. Maybe golden brown, but that's the closest, methinks. In any case, purple prose needs to be chucked into the nearest dumpster. It should be outlawed. *shudders*

Chibi: Well, to be fair, Eddy's a vamp, but I see what you mean.
k o n e k o: Gah! I couldn't even read the third book. I wanted to kill ALL OF THEM, which doesn't really help matters considering I'm trying to be a pacifist *sigh*
I agree. Dracula was lovely. I just don't like the horny vampires. They're so distasteful! Ugh. . .

Does being a pervert count? I have one OC vampire who's a pervert, but he isn't addicted to sex or anything. He just likes flirting. That's all. Maybe a little groping here and there.

The Historian was wonderful, too. But...
@Chibi: Better than the stupid Cullens who are "good vampires" and hate to drink human blood.
@Kaari: The only one I don't want to kill is Victoria, because she wants to kill everyone. Does that make me a bad person? No. Because they deserve to die.

Exactly! And you can't go through with killing them, because they're fictional! Absolutely no way to wind up before a judge biggrin
Their fans, however, are another story. . .
Chibi:So long as he doesn't sleep with anything that moves I'm okay with him. Besides, flirting can be a very good way to manipulate someone.

One of my major pet peeves would be people who viciously attack your story, not for its actual content, but just because it didn't suit their personal tastes. Also people who comment on your story for the sake of commenting, and not really putting much thought into it (such as: "cool!" or "love it!" or "that sucked soooo bad!")
And speaking of "Twilight", I can't even stand a full chapter of it and I do all I can to avoid it. Speaking of which, this brings me to my next point. Unless people were writing about Hellsing or Trinity Blood, pushing blatantly non-vampiric characters (i.e. Cloud Strife, Inuyasha, Sora, Allen Walker scream ) into stories as vampires is so commonplace it makes my blood boil.
Plot-skipping and/or lack of character development is also annoying in both fanfiction and original writing. Characters change after certain amount of events in their lives, people, stop making "Alexis" a block of angst for eighty-million chapters and MOVE ON! kaithxbai.

Koneko, my vamp isn't exactly a "good vampire" even though he's aligned with the protagonist side for the story. He drinks human blood though he isn't the type to torture innocent people unnecessarily. He'll make it a quick kill or take only what he needs. It's hard to explain him, because he really contradicts himself. He's one of my favorites out of my OCs.
*shudders* I hate rabid fans who take fan fiction too seriously.
Kaarii, he has a steady partner or as close to a vampire can get without being in true love. Sides, his job is to gather information so he uses his looks and his charms to get his way.
Kaze, oh I know that feeling. Most of my stories contain slash, and I post warnings in both the summary as well as heading of each chapter. Still, people read it and then sometimes flame me on pairing two guys or girls together. I've even had people who heavily hint that I should write it this way or that way. Can't remember for what story though.

I remember all out wars over favorite pairings. It is really sad when people are reduced to this. Why can't they agree to disagree?
I've also seen people flaming others just for writing a story with a pairing or character they completely hate. Is it really hard to press the back button or better yet read the summary? Because that is going to tell you what kind of story it is as well as the couple and characters in it.
