Pharaoh Ramases BentoMaker_Yung-I as far as your ballads go...i think it really depends on if you want to pull off the acting in them or show your range...bring him home, for example, is really quite good for both, but it's all in falsetto; i'm not sure if you want to go for something more belty. "Bring Him Home" is supposed to be in falsetto? well, in the show, it's always done in falsetto because the key is placed a bit higher. in the vocal selections though, i think it's lower so that it's not really in falsetto.

I said "Courner of the Sky," but it's a nice break between the two slower tempo songs it's going to be coming in between.

I think if you do Corner of the Sky that would be way too many Stephen Schwartz pieces.

Pharaoh Ramases The only one I KNOW I'm doing is For Good from "Wicked." That's awesome. The first time I listened to that, I was like, "It'd be really cool to do this as a duet with one of my soprano friends or something." As for voting...I've only heard "Bring Him Home," so I couldn't vote.

As for "For Good," the first time I heard it, I immediately thought, "This would be a perfect song to do to thank everybody who's influenced my path on the way to where I am." Hence, the reason I'm doing it.

I would have to vote "Bring Him Home". Just because it has sentimental value to me. If you can do the falsetto.
If not, I'd go for "Santa Fe". Because it's awesome.
Go forth and rock, Ramases!

I guess for a lame low-level tenor like me, it's high.

It shouldn't be sung head on. It's a prayer he's singing and he also does not want to be shot and killed. So it's supposed to be sung soft and sweetly and not belted.

The only upbeat songs that I have heard of are Corner of the Sky from "Pippin" and Luck Be A Lady from "Guys 'n Dolls." I too have always heard Not While I'm Around from "Sweeney Todd" as a ballad.
Well, my three favorite slower songs are Bring Him Home from "Les Miserables", The Impossible Dream from "The Man of La Mancha" and More I Cannot Wish You from "Guys 'n Dolls." I always thought that More I cannot wish you was a really moving song. I would suggest singing that.
I hope that helps
Good Luck blaugh
