Aureate whickered in worry, nuzzling her. He smiled faintly when she tugged at his mane, worried at her fall. She had to have hurt herself! Her ankle was swelling up! "You sprained something!" He almost wailed, sounding very forlorn. "Oh where's a river? You need to soak that! Where is your family? You're not ok! You're hurt!" He blinked. There she went, staring at his wings... Too bad he wasn't very good at flying with them, or he'd be able to fly for Tashika.. She was a Shaman! She could clear up a sprained ankle no problem.. She's save Sibalto's LIFE once...

The little filly stared up at her new found friend, surprised by how upset he was by her fall. Sure, her ankle hurt and she'd taken a few scraped and grass stains but otherwise she was just fine! And so long as she was careful there was no reason they couldn't continue to play. Realizing that he wasn't just going to shrug off her tumble, Eponine found a new, gentler resolve.
He wasn't like her brothers at all. Oh, yes, they would have been concerned at her tumble (she was always tripping over something it seemed) but part of the girl knew the minute she said she was fine that would be the end of it. For being petite in size, the little filly was quite hardy.
"No, no," she softly admonished, giving a little shake of her head though her smile was still bright. "I'm n-n-not hurt, j-j-just a little banged up!" There, maybe he just didn't know the difference. Hurt was when it was something big and dangerous - a silly sore ankle wasn't anything to fuss over. "R-r-really, please don't worry! If you'd l-l-like we can't f-find a river or lake, there must b-b-be one around here!" As if to prove it she gingerly walked around her friend, brushing up against him in hopes to reassure that she wasn't frail or going to break soon.
He had asked her where her family had been. The little girl flicked an ear, contemplating the question. "I dunno where th-th-they are," she finally admitted with a chuckle. "Somewhere n-n-not here I guess." She'd find them eventually. They tended to live and graze outside of the woods, near the plains. Sure, sometimes they wandered but Eponine always managed to find them again no matter how far she strayed. "Come on! It'll b-b-be an adventure!"
Limping a few steps in a random direction (the secret lake could wind up anywehre so she might a well just start walking) Eponine threw Aureate a radiant smile. "It'll be f-fun!"

Aureate shook his head. Injured? Hurt? Banged up? It was all the same thing! It was all BAD! She was his new friend and she was hurt! NOTGOOD! He flapped his wings in frustration, but was glad to see her walking around... "Let's go find some cold water...." He sighed at last. "It will help your ankle, and then we can decide what sort of adventures to have.. Ok?"

The little filly gave a giggle and nod of her head. "Th-th-that's where I'm g-g-going, silly - unless. . . unless you know where the l-l-lake is?" She wasn't very familiar with the woods and didn't know if her chosen direction actually contained water or not. Perhaps this black furred, winged stranger might know?
Tail flicking behind her, she trotted back and nosed the colt reassuringly - he still seemed very frazzled and upset. The way his wings feathers puffed out after being flapped added to his entire upset disposition. She hadn't meant to upset him so - really! It was just a tumble after all thanks to her clumsiness. Ever since her birth she'd been a bit on the clumsy side. . . would she ever grow up to be as graceful as other mares?
She hoped so. . . . But wouldn't begin to doubt that it was not to be.
"C-c-c-cmon! It'll be an adv-v-venture just g-getting to the water!" Her imagination began to run away with her. In her time of need and pain she was like the damsel in distress! And . . and. . .that would make Aureate the prince charming! YES! "You're th-the pr-prince and I'm the f-fair maiden in distress," she suddenly chattered, eyes alight with creativity. "And. . . . and th-the lake is the only th-thing that can cure me. But we have t-t-t-to watch out else the m-m-monsters in the woods'll g-g-get us!" Eyes going wide, the little filly looked around at the woods and the shadows surrounding them.
Anything could creep out of there and attack them - they'd have to be ready! Oooh, what an adventure this would be!

"There's one not far from here..." He sighed, nosing her one last time and then setting out at a slow walk. "Come on..." At her mention of adventure he winced. "Let's take it careful on this adventure, alright? If you get really hurt, I dunno how fast I can get help..." His eyes about popped out of his head as he gaped at her for a moment. "I'm the Prince? ALRIGHT! I wanna fight dragons! Maybe there will be a dragon guarding the healing lake! Wouldn't that be cool?" Aureate loved a good game... With a grin he paced at his new friend's side, looking at every shadow as an adversary. They were off! Hopefully Sibalto and his parents weren't too worried about him...
