The purple kitsu sat quietly, paying attention to the other's words. So he had made a territory, much like any kitsu may wish to do. But it did surprise her some, when he changed his word choice. Not something, but someone. Even with his claimed life as a loner, Darkfeather was experiencing loneliness? Setsumi tilted her head, glancing back at the river. She could understand him wanting her to stay, that's usually how the bonds of friendship worked.
"That'll be nice, Darkfeather." She was aware of his tension, but didn't want to look further into it. That would be an awkward assumption on her part. "We may even find your friend as we travel. And you'll get to see my family."

"Maybe..." he said quietly, although it was clear that he doubted it. "I can't cling to that past forever, though." As hard as that was to admit, it was true. "Hm... your family? Your kits, then?" He knew that they were grown, but he didn't know how else to calle them.
Feeling a little more at ease, he nibbled at his fish a bit more. Although his ears laid back on his neck. Red tails twitching a bit in uncertainty.

His opinion would have to pass, since she had no clear knowing either. She was no psychic. And hoping could only get so far. Thankfully the topic was turned about. She couldn't help but chuckle, imagining them as kits again. "No no, they're full grown. Well, except for my adopted." She'd leave out the fact that it was stunted growth.
Her cloud tipped ears moved forward, her just observing the other. He still seemed aggitated, in one form or another. Was it because he was forced from his territory? "And maybe you could settle down in realm, if you wanted."

He was aggitated but not for the reason she thought. The thought of settling down at the realm brought a nod, "That will be no problem." He didn't need a wild enviroment.. as he'd always lived in the company of humans as a pokemon.
Hesitantly... he placed a paw on hers, if anything to let her know that his aggitation wasn't because of her. Rather, it was because he had a hard time coping with this life and strange feelings he didn't know how to handle. He wanted... no needed... to be close to someone. He had lost his bond with his human, and well... Setsumi lost a bond with her mate. So they were somewhat on equal ground.

She was shocked that he agreed so easily. Maybe a visit, before he got tired with the large company of others. That is what she had thought to expect. Warmth, what was that? The kitsu looked down in surprise, seeing joined paws. And her thoughts seemed sweeped from her mind. Was that what he was trying to voice, in his own way?
She shook her head, almost blushing, and hid it in Dark's shoulder. As if hiding for a second would make everything clear and simple again. Maybe it was just because of her recent ordeal, spiraling her thoughts and common sense. Even the winged kitsus scent seemed enough to jumble her logic. "Sorry."

Blinking in surprise as Setsumi hid her face in his shoulder, Darkfeather looked at her for a moment. He then outstretched one of his wings and put it over her. He use to do the same thing with Nikki, especially when she would cry or felt lonely. For the longest time... they were all they had... each other.
Setsumi's apology caused him to lift a brow, "Why?" he asked. She had nothing to be sorry for.

The draped wing only helped her to feel more out of place. But it was a welcome comfort, even if the male may have needed it more than herself. He was the one not content with this new life, afterall. And here she was being difficult, an emotional oddity sending mixed signals.
Smiling to herself, she pulled back to shake her head at Darkfeather. "For confusing you like this. I have to admit, I've been..out of it lately. And you were the one who had to deal with it." She had thought coming out to the vast jungle would shield such woes, but it hadn't worked. "You were doing just fine, before I popped up. You had a clear view in life." Something like she had, before her life had done a complete spin.

"Confusing me?" He snorted as if that was the most ridiculous thing he'd ever heard. True... it had stirred things up... but it hadn't exactly been a bad thing. "It was a welcome change" he admitted, "I haven't had anyone to talk to... in a long time."
He didn't know what else to say, so he decided to stop there. Eventually pulling his wing back and laying his chin on his forepaws.

A brow lifted at his snort, before Setsumi grinned. "True enough. I'm sure you confuse me more than the other way around." She pulled back and stretched her front arms from the hunch. Both with full tummies, and as calm as could get, it felt better than previous encounters.
Throwing the fish bones itno the water, she flicked her tails eagerly. "Well then..." Her thoughts turned back to grandkits, and it made her fidget. Both happily and dreadfully. "Do you require a nap before the trip?" She wasn't going to rush it at all, not like she had done to Ed and his mate. Besides, she had a smile to return with.

Another brow lifted as Darkfeather too sat up and tossed away the remains of his fish. "Require? No... but I see no reason to rush." She was in a hurry to leave already? She'd been gone for awhile... there was no harm in waiting another day or so.
Then in a sudden bold move, Darkfeather leaned over to press his nose against Setsumi's necki n a experimental gesture. After all... he knew that she was without a mate and her strange temperment over the past few days hadn't gone unnoticed... he wasn't stupud after all. Perhaps there was more to his idea of staying a little longer than he let on. XD

Her eyes moved back and forth between the kitsu and the direction of realm. Was she rushing again? She was only thinking of the young ones, and...
Her body froze over at the sudden touch, thinking Dark had a moment of clumsiness. Except he didn't move back, or even attempt to do so. It took a moment to overcome her shock, and when she did, her tongue was still numb. "D..Darkfeather?" She didn't know he had it in him. She pushed a paw lightly on his chest, voice playful. "Easy tiger." Sure she had tossed her own kiss to him before. Duh, because he had the attributes any female sought in a partner. Still, she wasn't one to fling herself. What did he have to sway her any different than another?

The crested male smirked lightly and pulled back when she pushed against his chest. He was merely testing the waters, but it seemed that his attentions were not entirely appreciated so he left it at that.
"If you really want to leave now, we can... its entirely up to you." He was indifferent, especially after that slightly awkward moment. Forelimbs were stretched infront of him as he waited for her decision.

She gave an appreciated glance to the other, glad he'd respect her wishes. But her wishes went two ways, mind and body. One was unhappy right now. Heh. She tilted her head to the side as he just lounged there stretching. "I want to hear what's on your mind, for once."
She moved abit closer to the other, enjoying this new display of emotion. When was the last time she recieved such affections? Her tails flicked behind her. "Such as, who are you willing to protect?" That alone would answer alot.

Darkfeather blinked at Setsumi's question. He had thought she'd be able to figure it ut... but perhaps she just wanted to hear him say it. "Anyone who is close to me... right now... you're the only one here that would fit in that category." He would make sure that nobody ever hurt her again... especially that former mate of hers. That part wasn't hard to get out... for it was a simple truth. And it was why he agreed to go with her.

She understood, it was just so much easier to accept when it was spoken. Especially now, with her status as it was. Her swing of moods didn't help any either. She was paying close attention, making sure she didn't make the same mistake again. To be an only one...the only one. For once. "Promise?" Her voice was a whisper. She wouldn't force him to say those words, that was too blunt and cruel to force it from his being. This was just an easier form, with as much meaning.
