Haruki-sama Thus why stores like FYE and Suncoast have all but left our malls and why Best Buy only carries the 'A-list' titles nowadays. Are you sure? There is still an FYE at my local mall and my local Best Buy sells more then just A lister stuff. I doubt When they Cry would even be A list. Too random.

I see FYE everywhere, too. Suncoast is only in a few malls as far as I've heard, and no longer exists in New England, though I think that was a cause rather than a result of the dip in the profits of anime companies.
Best Buy does usually only carry what is new or popular in it's stores, at least as far as I've seen. Though I do think they do carry apparently random titles from time to time.

There is still an FYE at my local mall and my local Best Buy sells more then just A lister stuff. I doubt When they Cry would even be A list. Too random. Well then my state (Wisconsin) must be full of cheapskates, because FYE / Suncoast pulled out of the state entirely, save for 3 stores.....one Suncoast (in the Milwaukee area) and two FYEs (Eau Claire and Racine (a Milwaukee suburb), respectively). Actually most of the reasons for their demise here are - Collge towns. Most college-attending students don't buy anime, instead downloading it. This hurts sales obviously. Milwaukee and Madison are big college towns, and both had the chains. Of course, this is no more. - Our malls are all owned by one of the big three REITs. This means ridiculously high rents, equalling low sales per square foot (the mall takes a big slice of store profit....which TransWorld hasn't had before the Musicland takeover and it's only gotten worse AFTER it). If the only sales on the floor are coming from TV box sets and the occasional anime DVD and music CD sale, you can just imagine the hurting those locations went through. Small-town stores were originally OnCue locations that were in malls that the owners just didn't give a s**t about (pardon my language), thus why they bailed. Best Buy's BASE selection is all CN and A-list stuff. B and C titles do vary from store to store. This is correct. My bad. My town's store is small, so it and other stores of its size only have the room for A-list and TV-aired anime series. Though I've seen the B- and C title on occasion....like this past few weeks I seen 'Green Green' avaliable.

I've attempted to hit the Death Note dub bash threads, but after awhile, it's just far too straining on my mind. D:
But, amongst one of those bash threads came a wonderful quote:xParaPara Ruri-sanx And you must've not been a fan of Death Note at the first place because I would imagine "real fans" would like it despite what language it's in.

xD
And I'm gonna watch the DeathNote airing on Adult Swim because I'd like to hear the English cast first before I even attempt to watch it in Japanese.

Agreed. Watching it on [adult swim] will determine whether or not I'll buy it. And that's when I'll watch it in both languages. O:

Whereas I've blown my top numerous times in death note threads.
I'm watching the dub if or when YTV decides to finally air it. My alternative choice would be to rent it.
The only reason why I'm really watching it is Brad Swaile and Alessandro Juliani.

i agree on you with that one!! it annoys me to no end when people prejudge dubs and say it would be bad or even when they go on about how bad dubs are, cos i really think dubs are great, i really don't see any problems with ANY dubs i've seen.. and they have been extremely well done!

The one thats really getting to me at the moment is D.Gray-man actually. People heard that funimation got the rights and all of a sudden everyone is like "OMG Vic Mignogna better not play Allen!"
Seriously, its like people can't have a discussion about the dub without bringing that up! And everytime I mention that he doesn't play that many main characters in Funimation's dubs, I get completely ignored.

The instant-Vic Mignogna hate is starting to get a little obnoxious. Yes, he does play in a lot of series, but still calm down. Sometimes those threads make me feel almost ashamed for liking him.

Sometimes those threads make me feel almost ashamed for liking him. And if people would actually pay attention, most of the bigger roles he's had have been for ADV and not Funimation. Personally, I don't think he's that bad. I don't want him to play Allen, or Lavi....but other than that I really don't care.

Sometimes those threads make me feel almost ashamed for liking him. Here is the annoying thing IMO about the Vic hate. Durring FMA he became one of the most loved Anime VA's on the main board, one of the only ones constantly praised. Then came Tsabasa and his portrayal of Fai, while the voice was not bad the Vic hate came from comments about the character, his sexual orientation, and how Vic will never play a gay character. That got countless people to suddenly hate him. And really Vic is not that widely used of a VA at all. He raraly gets leading roles, most of his roles are smaller parts that I bet most fans don't even realize it was him.

Right! I only picked him out in Princess Tutu because I've become so accustomed to his voice, and even then I wasn't positive until I looked at the credits.

He was Femio right? neutral I think I'm one of the very very few Princess Tutu fans that found that episode more annoying than funny.... sweatdrop
