Nene blinked then chuckled faintly. What had she gotten herself into this time? "Slow down" she grumbled faintly startled when he nuzzled her. "I was out here hunting for breakfast, one that you scared away by the way." she grumbled faintly " Yeah I do live around here, i visit the human in the next glade she leaves me food from time to time. Yes you are the first horse that I have meet or wanted to be friends with and no I don' have friends."

Aureate grinned faintly, looking unabashed. "I'm sorry I scared away your breakfast, but you know its not very nice to eat someone... How would you feel if someone ate you? It wouldn't make you very happy.. I'm quite sure it would ruin my day..."
He shrugged and gave a little shudder. "Yes, quite sure... And I truly don't want to think of it... Anyway... A human? Is she nice? I guess she would be if she feeds you... Why don't you have friends? I like making friends!"

Nene sighed softly sitting down and looking at him "Things aren't always black or white kiddo. Think about it like this...you eat the grass right? Well if we predators didn't eat the mice and rabbits then they would eat all the grass and you would go hungry. If we didn't eat the bodies of animals that had died, there would be rotting corpses everywhere." She shook her head amused by the hyper colt. He flitted from topic to topic like one of those little fluttering birds. " I have no idea if she is really nice, I am not one of those mewling dog things. I come in, take the food she leaves out and leave."

Aureate considered the canine. She ate DEAD things? EEEEW! He was sure he had never been so glad to be a horse as he was now, for he didn't have to chase and hurt things to eat... Nor did he eat...
Just eww...
"Ooooohkaaaaaaaaay..." He said with false cheerfulness. "Moving away fromt he subject of diets.... You don't like the human enough to live with her? I live with a nice human... And my Godfather/Uncle Guardian-Type friend named Sibalto... I think I already mentioned him... Are you a Guardian to anyone? Its not quite like being a friend, more like being a parent.. Are you a parent? Do you have a mate? Sibalto has a mate.. They just had foals.. Foals that were put into baskets just like me when I was first born.. I can't wait to meet Sib's foal! He said we'll be best friends!"

Did she say hyper, forget hyper this kid was a damn tornado of thought. Nene snorted shaking her head trying to get a hold of a single thought. " No I don't live with a human. I am not a pet kid. I am glad you have a good home but I don't trust things that walk on two legs like bears." She sighed as he meantioned mates and babies " No kid, no mate or pups. It's just me."

Seeing her eye him so oddly and shake her head, Aureate dropped to both knees on the front -rump still high in the air- which put him nearly nose to nose with her.
"Is this easier?" He asked, wagging his tail. "I see you looking at me like I'm hurting your neck.. Or maybe I'm hurting your head? So Maybe if I'm as tall as you, it won't hurt you anymore? Is that right? I dunno.. Anyway.. Do you like being alone? I don't really like bears.. I heard they might eat me... Or mountain lions.. Or wolves.. But HEY! You're a Wolf! And you didn't eat me! Maybe bears are missunderstood?"
He tilted his head in question, smiling.

This colt was killing her, this had to be punishment for some evil she had committed sometime in her life, but she couldn't think of anything she had down that was bad enough to be submitted to this intergation.
"No kid you aren't hurting my neck, yes you are hurting my head. You flit around like one of those little shiny birds (hummingbirds), Yes I rather like being along, no i don't like bears they are thieves. Mountain lions are mangy felines, and don't be any idoit a bear will eat you in a heartbeat. Stay clear of them."

"Ok so bears are not misunderstood, but wolves are... And mountain lions are mangy... fe... fe.. fe-lines? I dunno... I flit around? But how can I flit? I can't really fly yet.. Not very well.. None of my siblings really can... We're too young.. But I'd like to fly like a-"
He stopped. "I'm hurting your head again, aren't I?"
He sighed, looking very forlorn and sad. "Sorry..."

Nene chuckled faintly "It's ok kiddo, ya just need to slow down some. And don't go thinking all wolves will be your friend. Most wolves would eat ya just as quickly as a bear or a lion. You just got lucky this time. "
