My story is relatively simplistic.

I bought a movie that I had heard of that won many awards and was very Acclaimed in terms of both its acting, and the way it approached it's subject matter.

That movie was Boys Don't Cry, which is about the true story of Brandon Teena, the girl who wants so desperately to be a boy, that she convinces herself that she is.

In a key scene, Brandon is making out with her girlfriend, and the song "Boys Don't Cry" plays in the background. This became one of my favorite movies, and I started to pick up on the songs playing during the movie. Then, I scanned the end credits for the names.

Then, One day at Musicworld, I saw an Album by the Cure. The Greatest Hits one.

It had the song Boys Don't Cry, and I thought that I -had- to get it.

Well, After listening to all the songs, I was bloody hooked.

And I still am, to this day.

The Cure ******** rock.

Well, it started like this.

It was X-mas eve and my brother and I were driving up to my Grandmother's. On the way, we were listening to some of his CDs. Then a song came on. It was beautiful the second time it played... and that was when I fell in love. The voice singing it made my heart sing too. And it made my heart glow and my stomach feel all nummy.(btw it was Lovesong the first time was by 311 and the second time the cure)

The next day, Christmas, I searched all over, for this Cure band only to find out that they WAY gothic. My eyes widened as I clicked a picture of dear Robert. His hair. Freak, insesitive? I say not! I watched Lovesong. And that's when I realized, that I must find Robert Smith and tell him I love him, becuase now, I no longer have a crush on the boy, but on dear Robert himself.
*sighs*
I'll never get over him...I will love him forever. And ever Ever....

I've heard of that movie, it sounds like one of those ones that you know you must see.. But knowing fetta and movies she's still yet to see it. mad It's on her to do list.

It all started....a long time ago.

My mother was one of the HUGEST Cure fans, and she met my dad and got him hooked. Then I was born. (: I grew up, not listening to silly songs that most kids listen to, but instead 'Just Like Heaven', 'Pictures of you' and other classic Cure songs. Imagine a 5 year old walking into school singing 'The Lovecats' When I was seven I knew the Kiss me x3 cd by heart. And here I am, eight years later and still a devoted Cure fan.

I blame my parents. They got me into the Cure-y goodness! xd My parents have a lot of CDs, but not all of them. I'm trying to get all of the ones we don't have if I can. I know I won't be able to get absolutely ALL of them, but I'd sure love to... If I could do that, I'd die happy!

Well, maybe the way I found out about The Cure is a disapointing. Here goes:
It started with the cover song from 311. I liked the song and went out of my way to find out who originally played the song. When I found The Cure version I realized 311 made a mockery out of the song. I instantly fell in love with Robert Smith's voice. I think it very much appealed to me because I was at a point where every kind of music bored me. It was something new and refreshing. I quickly got my hands on their albums. I realized I was addicted when I bought the Pornography shirt!!! mrgreen

My story is pretty boring. crying

Anyways, it started out with the AFI cover of Hanging Gardens then aftera month or two I decided to check out The Cure. I downloaded Boys Don't Cry and Friday I'm In Love.

For the first week it was jsut passive listening, but then one day I wasn't feeling so happy and I put on Friday I'm In Love and this spark inside me just well sparked. I could feel the music coming and flowing into me and cheering my soul up it was amazing, thus started my addiction. heart

Well, uh. I heard them on the radio when I was younger. Then, I started looking for them on the radio like... every day. Then, when they came on with "Friday I'm In Love", I scribbled down the name, album, song... and scoured the internet for the Cure songs.

I went to a record store about a year ago, and found their 'greatest hits' cd, and a 'boys don't cry' poster, and bought both... next thing you know, I ended up here. And saving all their songs, pictures, and lyrics I can find onto my computer...

Uh... that was pretty lame. ^^;
