Relief flooded over him when he saw the egg begin to slow down in its rolling. He caught up and trotted beside it along the path, listening to its odd gurgling. Where do you want to go? he asked the egg, not sure where they were heading.

The dark egg suddenly span around, quickly slowing down soon after. The jewelry that it still had on it continued to sparkle and make a twinkling sound. The egg also continued to gurgle, rocking back and forth in the direction that it's horn pointed to.

Numair watched the egg's action, finding it rather curious. Did all eggs act in this manner? Could all eggs move on their own? He knew very little about eggs, having never actually come upon one before this night. As the egg rocked, Numair carefully laid the necklace back on top of it, hoping it wouldn't fall off again.

The gurgling of the egg stopped as Numair slipped the necklace back around the top of it. It stayed dead quiet for a few more minutes, and then it began to gurgle once more, but in a much softer tone, as if it was trying to say 'Thank you', or something.
Then, completely randomly, the dark egg tilted to the side, so the necklace wouldn't fall off again, and rolled right into the white and red Kiri's legs, simply sitting there afterwards.

Numair blinked down at the egg. What was it doing now? He had to wonder. When the egg rolled into his front legs and sat there, Numair pondered if this was the egg's way of showing some kind of affection toward him. Well, at least it didn't seem to hate him.

The egg continued to sit there, but did occasionally rock back and forth. However, it didn't roll away anymore, and the gurgling noise had come to a stop once again. Except for the rocking, it did nothing more. It just sat there.. And looked... Very egg-like.

Tired of standing on his legs, Numair lay down, careful not to jostle the egg. Hm, he said thoughtfully as he pondered what to do now. Perhaps you would enjoy a little tune? The egg seemed to understand his words well enough.

The egg rocked back and forth as soon as Numair had finished asking his question. Sure, the creature inside probably had no idea what exactly he was saying, but so far, this thing had not hurt it. So, it had no reason to not trust it.

Numair decided to take that rocking to be the egg's nod. All right then, he said and thought about what he could hum for it. He wasn't all that knowledgeable in songs, but he knew a few. After a moment, he began to hum one of those songs to the egg.

There was no instant reaction, as the egg was trying to decide what the sound was that Numair had begun to hum. At first, it sounded awkward, but as he went on, the sound became more and more pleasant. It was a good sound, or so the creature in the egg thought. So, it rocked back and forth, jewelry twinkling once again.

Numair smiled when he saw the egg start to rock. He paused in his humming long enough to ask, So you like it? Then he returned to humming the random song he had learned at some point in his life. He couldn't even remember where exactly he had learned it.

The egg rocked a little faster after the Kiri had asked another question. It still wasn't sure what he spoke of or about, but it still had no reason to not think that it was bad. Even the noise it made was very wonderful, so why should it be bad? Trust, that was the key, and so far, the egg trusted Numair more than anyone else.

Taking the quick rocking to be a yes, Numair smiled again. He was happy to know the egg enjoyed the tune, so he continued humming.

The dark egg continued to rock, the jewelry dancing back and forth upon it, continuing to make the wonderful twinkling sound. It seemed as if nothing could go wrong, and that all was peaceful. Even within the dark forest, everything seemed just right.

The humming continued, a pleasant sound in contrast to the noises made in the night. Somewhere in the distance, a scratching sound could be heard. Perhaps a bird landing in one of the many trees. Leaves rustled every now and then as a cool breeze blew around them. Numair curled more around the egg to keep it warm.
