If I remember correctly, is Mabon also the honoring of the GreenMan?

The owner of the local "Pagan Shop" (I honestly don't know how to describe the store... Multicultural/multi spiritual.... what ever.. It freaking rocks. lol) is hosting a drumming to celebrate. It should be a lot of fun. It will be the first mabon that I really celebrate. I usually just light a candle or something... if I remember at all.
I know... I suck remembering holy days. The harvest festivals are easier to remember, but somehow I have a tendency to overlook the equinox/solstice.
((edited slightly to remove craziness))

I'm so happy I read this topic. This is going to be my first celebration. I'll probably make a delicious dinner for me and my mom(she doesn't need to know that it's special) and I might even give my dog a bone. I have to go to school now, Yay school.

I'm super excited for Mabon... this is my first time celebrating also, (it seems a lot of people are having their first time), and I am celebrating it with my best friend.
Mabon falls on the 23d, right? Sorry, I am a bit of a Wiccan newbie. :c

Oranges and browns I believe. Anything you'll associate with autumn.
I'm celebrating it in a group and we still don't know what the hell we'll do. The general idea seems to be "eat a lot", but we're not sure about ritual. Help?

Sorry ofr the delay guys. I know I said I'd post stuff on here for Mabon from the new books I got, but I'm house sitting right now, so I haven't been able to access my books. Don't worry though! I will be posting some stuff on here before Mabon!
Edit: Some things I know about Mabon off the top of my head that you will want to make part of your ritual are: meditate on the symbolism and meaning of mabon, this is the final harvest. How does the fact that after today the days will begin to get shorter take it's place on the wheel of the year?
Also if you can have a "horn of plenty" filled with seaonal fruits and veggies (corn and apples for exmaple) and place it on your altar during the ritual.
I like to use cornbread instead of regular bread for libation during the ritual.
If you can have a fire, after the ritual have everybody hand out and pop popcorn, or maybe just roast corn and potatoes on the fire, and talk.
Here's an activity I made up to do with friends at my last mabon:
Each person is given a potato. Each persons potato is passed between everybody else. Each time a potato is passed to you cut a slice in the TOP and think about something you are thankful to that person for. Everybody cooks their potatos and eats while all the good thoughts people put into them flow though our bodies and nourish us.
Hope this helps! More coming soon!

Bouton_dOr meditate on the symbolism and meaning of mabon, this is the final harvest. I thought Samhain was the final harvest... am I wrong?
