He could only smirk at her and increase his speed, tallying the distance to the rapidly approaching tree. Should he slow down? He really didn't want to stop this race....but as the two-legger Pathen was also opt to say, there was more then one way to skin a rabbit.
His smirk widened into his characteristic lopsided grin, and he shot a quick glance at his companion. To play or not to play....

She increased her own speed, watching the approaching tree for a quarter of the time. She nickered softly at him as he had an odd look in his eye that she subtly understood. She edged closer to him as they were running side but side until she caught his creme mane and pulled back leading him away from the tree and just into the clearing. She only used it as an excuse to touch him, partially. Devious little femme.
She let go of him and yelled, "Tag." She watched him with a raised brow as she stood a few paces from him and with a soft snort the game was implied but not played..she hadn't played it since they were foals but she wanted to be more out of breath before she quit and chatted more seriously

He allowed himself to be led, up until she so accurately read his mood and initiated the game. Then with a loud whinny he trumpeted back "Not for long!" and gave chase.
Like her it had been years since he had 'played' in this manner, and with a unusual amount of nostalgia he decided to run himself literally into the ground.. just to prolong this game. Oddly he decided that he preferred to be the chaser, so he steadied his stride and planned to not catch, but to let her know she was the one being played.
Perhaps circle her and just miss her?
Grinning again he surged forward to begin.

The ebony pelt did not stay in one streaking line...oh no, she was zig zagging and weaving around blindly. Her emerald orbs subtly glancing back to see where her enemy was that was supposed to tag her.
He was taking his own sweet little time, her tail flicked as she turned and almost stopped before she realized he was actually speeding up. Her eyes widened as that grin was replaced upon her face and she took off again yet more towards him...than away.
She had her own tricks up her sleeve, even though she was unaware that he had no intention of tagging her.
