Irame was surprised by how happy her offer made RuiZhi. He acted completely different from the way that he had been before, and it was nice in a way. Nice that something that wasn’t really that big of a thing for her made that big of a difference for him. She certainly didn’t mind teaching him.
“It is fine with me. I am happy to find some one so dedicated to learning both. I will look forwards to seeing the culmination and be honored to teach you what I can As for showing it off…” She shrugged. “I do not see a problem with a little showing off. After all you will probably be doing much more work than any of the other students, so why should you not flaunt the products of that a little?” She said with a little smile.

RuiZhi smiled broadly, still in mild disbelief that the Professor was so willing to teach him. "If a situation calls for it, I wouldn't mind, but...just healing little paper cuts and the like seems a little much to me." He grinned boyishly again, thrilled as though he had just received a much wanted gift on Christmas. "The study of how magic works, how I can use it...will help me so much! Thank you again, Professor."
He blinked his brown eyes at her, his smile turning a little sheepish, "I don't want to keep you too much longer. I just...was curious about your blood magic, and..." The boy shrugged shyly, "...I suppose I've lost my train of thought right now." RuiZhi chuckled to himself for having admitted that he had been derailed from his previous objective. That was no small feat!

“I am glad that you are so happy about the idea of learning magic. I think that you will pick it up very easily, as you seem so open to it. Once more you are very welcome, RuiZhi.” Irame had not seem someone so happy for a long while. Normally students were happy, but RuiZhi seemed more than normal, and she thought that he had every right to be. After all he was trying something that, as far as she knew, had never been attempted before.
“I have at least a little while longer, but I do not want to keep you from something important. If you have any other questions, though, I would be more than happy to answer them, or you could come back later when you’ve remembered them.” She smiled.

"O-okay, maybe a few more questions," he agreed good naturedly. He had to buckle down and think; magic wasn't something to be taken lightly, as it wasn't something humans did inherently. RuiZhi wasn't sure what it would entail, and he had to keep this lack of knowledge in the forefront of his mind if he truly wanted to learn. "How about something basic, like...where do you draw magic from?" Honest brown eyes trained on the pretty elven woman in front of him, his hands clasping in his lap to keep from picking at his sleeves in his excitement.
"You said your magic makes your blood special, r-right? S-so...where is magic drawn from, that humans are so inept at it?" RuiZhi liked that word - inept. It was one he had only learned recently, but the more he used such words in context, the faster he'd learn them and retain the information. Much like what Irame would have to say, the boy would repeat it in his mind many times, write it out, find ways to connect it so that it made sense...and he'd make sure not to forget one word of it.

(well this is a long one, but I don’t know how good it is. =.=; I just read a book with a bunch of elves so the stuff just kept coming.aksldj. Chry, if you want to hit me you can.)
“How do you do something basic like use a computer?” Irame countered. “To us Elves that is something that must be taught and learned, and not something that is very easy, yet it is something that comes naturally to you humans it seems. We create and shape magic innately just as you humans strive for and discover new technology with such innate drive. You draw this ability to create such marvels out of yourself, just as I draw the ability to do my modest works out of myself and my surroundings. We each draw from the same place, we just produce different results. It simply seems that we are better at each our on path, as for why…” At this Irame looked troubled and she glanced at the computer that she had, before looknig back to RuiZhi. Just recently she had read the email that Doctor Kenth had sent out and it hurt her. She knew that he had not the faintest idea, but still it had had the reminiscent sting of a time past. ‘Luna was something that never really existed, as we all know…’ ‘Irame your little friend isn’t real, stop talking to no one and grow up.’. She smiled, but it did not reach her eyes.
“Well some would say that it is simply because your bodies do not have the proper genetic make up, that all the genes and DNA and everything else that you contain, while amazing, simply does not allow you to channel magic.” She said softly, trying not to show that she was troubled, “But that is not what I readily believe. I am prejudice to believe in Maya, and to believe that without a goddess there is no magic for you to draw upon, save for that of the other races. For the humans seem to have no true goddess, thus they have no true source of power, and they must turn to the other goddesses that are apparent, that can give them power and magic.” Irame looked down and away. “But it is my place to try to convert you. You may believe what you believe and I will what I will.”
“And as for my blood being magical do not worry overly much about it. There are some magics that you must be born with the ability to do, such as blood clerisy and pre and pos cognition, but most may be taught and learned. The elemental magics and most healings may be taught to people with any sort of magical aptitude. You said that you wished to heal others, correct? That is a type of magic that is often taught to many who show even a slight bit of magic, just incase it is ever needed. I am sure that you will be able to learn how to heal and much more, RuiZhi.” She said, smile still in place, but not quite fully there.

((I LOVE IT, don't you worry! XD It'll give Rui a lot to chew on!))
"B-but..." RuiZhi stared in awe, listening to Irame as she did her best to explain. "Maya?" he inquired as she paused, blinking in surprise. "So it's religious, too? Huh." Not only did she say Goddess, she said humans had no true Goddess; did that mean all the pantheons of the past were false, too? How could humans possibly know such things? "I don't...necessarily believe anything but what my hands can feel. Look at what Luna did to my people." The boy was extremely logical in nature, so spirituality and blind faith was not something he necessarily understood.
He turned his mind onto the part he did understand - genetic make up. His heart had skipped at the mention, turning over the model he had mesmorized mentally. "So, magic is also in DNA...amazing," he murmured softly, wondering if that's where the missing link was in the artificial limb. There was so much to consider, but he couldn't think too hard on it yet, as he still had no idea how it really worked.
Brown eyes shifted back to the Professor, his expression gentle. He was humbled by how little he knew, but he could also see a slight stress in Irame's face that wasn't there previously. Had something she said sparked it? He hadn't been paying as much attention as he should have, hearing her words more than anything. "I don't need more than what will help others," he said carefully. RuiZhi didn't necessarily want to wield magic, but he did want to have the availability to him; life had a way of throwing punches that some people could not duck.
However, his concern was for the elven woman in front of him. "Should I call it a night, Professor?" he inquired softly, not wanting to press if something was amiss.

(That then this. Blarhg. Apparently that sucked most of the goodness out of me.)
“And I am not here to change what you believe.” Irame said. “As simply told you what I think might be the reason. You probably would be better off talking to Dante about such matters, really. He is much smarter than I. He might know if magic is truly from religion or DNA, as much as a mortal truly can know such a thing. Then again he may give you nothing more than what I have. An opinion.” She didn’t continue, but she wished that she could. After all if there was no influence by the goddesses then how did Luna do what she had to his people? What she had done was but a small portion of her power… But Irame was not going to press religion upon anyone, it never did any good and no one really followed a religion out of threats or force. “I am sorry about what happened to your people.” She said quietly. “I am sure, however, that they were at least turned into sentient demons. Ones that understand one another can think and talk; nothing like some of the less… human like species.” She closed her eyes for a moment then moved away from the topic of Luna and hopefully goddesses in general.
“It seems that many never have enough to provide all the help that people request of you.” She sighed. She didn’t bring up the fact that normally clerics were the most pressed upon for everything. They were asked to heal everything, from simple coughs to gruesome wounds. “But as others will not understand magic and technology as well as you I guess that they should be content with what you are willing and able to give them. And this, I think, will come to be much.” She wasn’t overly started when he seemed to bring thing to an abrupt halt. She had probably not done too well hiding her anxiety over the matter of religion. It was silly though, for everything was resolved now.
“If you wish to call it a night RuiZhi, then by all means. I am here to help you, and there is little else for me to do.”

((No worries, my delay was longer. v_v))
RuiZhi listened and nodded at Irame's explanation, a little perplexed. He would have thought that those who used magic would at least know its nature, but apparently it was as mystical to them as it was the non-users. "Maybe," he remarked dubiously at her offer to speak to Dante, thinking the elven man would be less receptive to a Science student desiring the use of magic. Her next words of his people prompted him to shake his head and wave his hand. "I'm not concerned," he dismissed her intent, his face a little hollow, "to each their own. This is where I belong now."
The youth nodded a little at her next expression. "Many people fear what they don't understand. It's something my sister really dislikes in our race." RuiZhi smiled a little, adjusting his glasses. "If you don't mind, I think we've covered a lot tonight. Can I come and see you again in a few days?"

((Late and short... >.<; ))
“Believe me,” Irame said looking down at her desk, “Fearing what they do not understand is not something that is unique to the human people.” She took a deep breath, then looked up at RuiZhi with a smile. “I believe that you’re right, though. We have covered a lot tonight. I am sure that there are other things that you have to do. May I ask when would be a good time for you to come and see me again so that I may make sure that I do not plan anything over it?”

((v_v Almost 2 weeks again, BUT IT ATE MY RESPONSE. D: *didn't know until now*))
"Oh, o-oh sure! How about in three days? I have some schoolwork to finish, but I'd like to keep this all fresh in my mind." RuiZhi watched Irame with a smile, his brown eyes not missing her gentle withdrawl. He extended a small but worn hand to Irame awkwardly, before dropping it and patting the desk instead. "Thank you for sharing this with me. I do...I really appreciate it." He murmured a little, feeling a little off before he stood abruptly and moved to the door. "S-so, if that's okay, I'll see you in three days, about this time...?"

((Gaia says YUMMY!!))
Irame nodded and smiled. “Three days around now is fine with me” She said “I suppose that I will see you then. I will be sure to plan nothing over it and I do look forwards to it.” As he went to the door she stood and went to it as well. She bowed her head and held the door open for him. “Namarile. I hope that the rest of your day is good.”

((GAIA IS RUDE. D: ))
RuiZhi bobbed his head in a nod, beaming up at the elven woman. "Thank you again, Heru Irame." It occured to him he never caught her last name; it was a little late for that now. "Three days then. Have a nice evening!" He all but skipped out of the room, light as a feather and completely elated. He had some studying to do before their next meeting, and he knew he wouldn't sleep tonight in all his excitement; it was time to get to work!
