Eiry thought about the boy's question for a moment. He honestly didn't know. He had always taken the tales of Edgar Allen Poe seriously and it didn't seem that far fetched from real life when he compared it to the life of the Delaran home. Certainly, there we no blood, gore, or frightening secrets, but they did have ghosts, injuries, and secrets. If that's what stories were made of, then Eiry believed that he lived in a book. But Isi HAD tried to tell him the difference between stories and real life...Edgar Allen Poe... "No", the young frei said with the shake of his wispy haired head, "It hasn't happened. Not that I know. It might have. It's possible." Eiry spoke as if he were trying to answer his own question and he shrugged his shoulders.

Isi gave a defensive gesture of innocence, the best he could feign with his arms currently in the straps of his forearm crutches, "You got all tense all of a sudden that's all... What are you looking at?" Isi had noticed her staring at him for some time, as if trying to solve a puzzle, and it was making him nervous. Shifting so that he could stare her down if need be, Isikoro waited for a reply.

"Really? Oh good..." The weight of fear was lifted off Tyson's shoulder at the good news. His posture went from tense to relaxed, the need to worry over with until Eiry thought it over. "Wait, that can't be possible! No one would do that to another person!! They might try to get into his room to steal things, and attempt at killing, but they shouldn't rip them apart!" He added as quick as possible, as thought to counteract what Eiry was saying in their battle of reality.

Lillian hadn't notice she was staring and frowned at her rudeness, she'd have to work on that. "Nothing really, just you're hair." She might as well tell him the truth. The young woman gestured at her hair and casually flipped the ends of one side with her hand. "It looks a lot like mine....weird huh?" Especially because it was a GIRL's haircut.

Talk about an awkward situation. For a teenager who always worked to be polite, Lillian wasn't striving as much as she usually would with Isi. Perhaps it was the age similarity. Isi may have acted older like she did, but he still looked like a kid, and that brought a sense of comfort to Lillian. Besides, their hair did look too alike to ignore for long. If she didn't bring it up, and Isi didn't, then someone would and they most likely would embarrass them both. It was best to ask him now when it was just them and the kids who were too busy sharing horror stories.

Eiry nodded and he touched his nose with the tip of his finger, which was his sign-language for "I'm telling the truth". He didn't know how to say it, and he didn't really know what he was talking about. Eiry didn't have a very clear concept of humanity yet. The best he had was a canvas painted by Edgar Allen Poe, Ghost Stories, and Disney movies.

"Well, if it didn't happen in real life, then how would Mister Edgar Allen Poe think of it?" Eiry challenged.

"My hair?" Isi echoed in an offended huff, "Excuse me, but you're the one who has hair that looks like mine. I've always had this hair cut." What?! What was she trying to say? That he had a girl's hair cut? Not a chance. Now that he thought about it, they did have very similar hair styles... But that just made him feel awkward and feeling awkward always made him feel uneasy and angry.

Tyson's face held instant concern over the fact that Eiry was right. Writers did tell stories about real occurences that took place in reality all the time. The story that Eiry spoke of had no unicorns, no fairies, no trolls, basically it possessed nothing magical. Without the magic factor, the chance of the tale being true was higher than he hoped for.

"Maybe he just imagined it? It could be something he thought up while daydreaming." Perfect! He had found a way to avoid believing Eiry's idea! Yes, it was an awful thing for someone to take pleasure in dreaming about. But atleast Edgar Allen Poe's words were not true.

"Oh please! I found this haircut in a girl's magazine AND a women's hair design idea book. Now, you may have always had that style, but it is still a girl's style no matter what." Lil smiled at Eiry after he proved her point. Ha! Take that! She couldn't wait to see him struggle for what to say now. She had won the first battle and already she was ready to win the war.

Eiry pondered and he shrugged his shoulders weakly. He didn't know what to reply to that statement. Perhaps it was true, perhaps it wasn't. Eiry didn't know where these stories came from. However...They were Eiry's favorite stories to read! Grinning brightly, Eiry leaned forward, a couple inches away from Tyson's face and he piped, "It was a good story, though? Wasn't it? Do you want to hear another one?"

Bristling quietly, Isi shot daggers at Lil through his eyes. She had not won this battle, Isi wasn't going to go down so easily! He'd have to be dragged down kicking and screaming. "It's a boy's hair style!" Isi sneered, "It called a skater's flip! You should have longer hair anyways. Those are the kind of hair styles you find in a girl's magazine!

"Well..." Tyson chewed over the idea of listening to another one of Eiry's stories. Despite his strong guesses that the story would probably be another horror filled tale; the tyke didn't want to upset the raevan by denying him a pair of listening ears.

It wasn't as if he actually knew the story that Eiry would tell next. If he was lucky it would be the type of story he didn't have to stay up late at night worrying over. "Okay, tell me another one, please!" He smiled at Eiry the confidence he had possessed over the predicament returning with flying colors after its earlier embarrassing take off.

Lillian only allowed her gaze to wander from Isi's glare when she checkd on Isi, but other than that her eyes never left her's. To see that he was not defeated only boiled her blood fruther. "No it is not! It is a girl's hair style and it has been around for a pretty long time! I look good with short hair, and those magazines? They can be a bunch of garbage sometimes!" Even though that didn't meant that Lillian didn't read their glossy pages once in a while.

"Hey...wait a sec, how would you know what kind of hair styles are in a girl's magazine? Hmm?" Ah ha! This was developing into the perfect blackmail scheme, and it would definitely allow Lil "victory" over Isi.

Grinning proudly as soon as the boy agreed to sit through another of his favorite selections of his Edgar Allen Poe repetour(sp), Eiry floated into position. Tucking in his lanky pale arms to both of his sides, the mischievous frei began the tale, his fingers moving like those of a puppet master. With carefully said words and intense red eyes, Eiry began the tale of...

"The Black Cat...a short story by Edgar Allen Poe-"

But just before the story could begin, it was interrupted with a frustrated growl from Isi.

"It's a boy's hair style and I know the name because I found it in a male's hair style magazine! It's called Styles!" Isi hissed, his thick brows darkening over narrowed eyes. Backing away rom her so he could go back and tend to his garden, Isi finished with a snarl, "If you found this hair style in a magazine, you must be blind because the cover must've said MALE HAIR STYLES ONLY. So just shut up and go the hell away!" Isi roared at her. Then he spun away, hobbled over to the planter, lowered himself down and began digging a hole for the new plants. His shoulders hunched up angrily and it was clear that if anyone went near him, he'd turn on them and rip their throat out.

By the time the two eldest of the four tempers had risen to scrouching (clearly a dangerous level to reach); Tyson had been able to prepare himself for yet another frightening tale. The tyke had managed to convince himself in good timing to listen to what his gut feeling was telling him. The words, "Buck up!" and "Listen with courage." were able to keep his eyes open and his hands down at his sides rather than up covering his ears.

The fact was, if Tyson ever wished to accomplish his dream of being a hero, then he would need to conquer his fear of scarey stories. To listen to Eiry's tales must've been a good step for him to take to accomplish his first task, and it seemed it might turn out easy if cat's were frequently involved.

Although before he could hear the end of the first sentence Tyson heard Isi's outburst and already knew his time with Eiry would be cut short.

Lillian's glare couldn't have been anymore darker after Isi threw his tantrum. How rude of that twerp! It wasn't HER fault that he had gotten a GIRL's hair style. Besides, he was better off finding out from her rather than a group of big burly teenagers looking for fresh meat.

To think their rage was fueled and strengthed by something so silly as hair.

Now, the young teenager knew as she stood frowning and glaring daggers at Isi's back that she could walk over to the young teen, apologize for her actions, and perhaps start anew. Yet, that was the person at faults role in a fight and certainly Lillian was not that person of the current ordeal.

With one last huff of aggravation, the scowling Lil turned her back and Isi and hurried herself over to where her brother and Eiry sat.

"I'm sorry guys, but we really need to go in and see Aphi now. It was nice to meet you, Eiry. I'm sure we'll see you again!" She told the raevan as she helped Tyson to his feet. There was a slight twinge of regret that she was pulling the two kids away from their fun, but she couldn't stand Isi any longer.

She needed to escape his old grouch of a man attitude as quick as she could or she'd explode.

As he was pulled away by his sister, Tyson managed to turn his head around and smile weakly at the raevan. "See ya later, Eiry! Call us if you want to come over sometime!" He called back to the other with a goodbye wave.

Then they were up the steps of Aphi's home and opening the door, ready to be greeted by a man with a smile as sweet as honey.
