ChivalrysRevival for everyone who has seen the movie, yeah that's what i mean. for those who havent, basically there is an island and one girl in particular named mohana. everyone calls her ugly and her own father, the island drunk, says that the only way she will be married is if she continues to cook well. a rich tradesman named johnny lingo comes to the island and announces that he will choose a bride. after interviewing all the women on the island, he hears that one did not show up. he goes to mohana and after a while chooses her. all the beautiful women dont understand and when it comes time to offer live stock to the brides father as a marriage agreement, the father asks for 2 cows. the crowd begins to laugh and jest that mohana is hardly worth 2 chickens. johnny lingo says he is insulted by the price of 2 cows. he then offers 8 cows for mohana. they leave and come back in a year or so and she is now one of the most beautiful girls anyone on the island has ever seen. her inner beauty is what attracted johnny and when she leaves the negative influence of the island she becomes as beautiful to others on the outside as she is on the inside. *insert symbolism here* Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!!!! I wish there were more guys like that!

I HATE that movie with a passion!!! People go around a shout "Mahana you ugly" and "You a ten cow wife" and people who don't get that said to get left thinking they are not liked or that there is something wrong with them. I personally just find it annoying and vaguely disturbing.

Annalise Morwen I HATE that movie with a passion!!! People go around a shout "Mahana you ugly" and "You a ten cow wife" and people who don't get that said to get left thinking they are not liked or that there is something wrong with them. I personally just find it annoying and vaguely disturbing. haha well then if you werent told it, i think you are a 10 cow woman! blaugh feel better? are you at least smiling?

wow i'll have to go see that movie now. it sounds really good.... alright about your friend i feel really bad for her and i know pretty much her feelings since i had/have a lot of friends like that. ANd personally girls its really hard to get over that stuff, trust me. Because ever since hey were little thats probably all they've known, so how can you change someone when its the only thing they know? All you really can do is show them fun and the world of love and kindness. They'll come around advently but still it will aslways be with them. But those guys who hurt her domokun i've had a few like that... its so hard to go away yet you want to be free. Most of he guys i've dated who i thought were nice and friendly and caring turned into some pretty ugly guys behavior wise. i dunno what happened yeah it sucks big time...

I just find it disturbing that people would walk around saying things like that (not in a close group of friends with a history of that joke).

I just find it disturbing that people would walk around saying things like that (not in a close group of friends with a history of that joke).i only use it with my friends. i tell the girl i like she's a 20 cow woman but thats just cuz well... yeah... she is to me at least blaugh sweatdrop

I watched it at a Wed. night church mutual thing and it was the first time I had ever heard of Jonny Lingo. I thought it was odd, but I LOVED the concept.
Anyone ever see the RM? They have a poster head-cutout...thing that said "I'm an 8-cow woman!" and you can get your picture taken with your face in the cutout. razz I thought that was cute and a fun allusion to Jonny Lingo. heart
