Del nodded " Though Echo and I take care of each other as well it's sort of mutual you know? We were created to be partners." It had taken time bit Del had gotten over the fact that she wasn't a natural child. Not that she'd met many natural children around here anyways.

With the help of Tai's explanation Gil decided servants were boring and not worth thinking or talking about anymore. Really there just wasn't all that much too them.

Dragons however were more than worth talking about. " Yeah lots of different colours and body shapes. Del showed me pictures in a book of lots of types. You can't see Echo right now but maybe later or the next time you visit. Anyone can have certain dragons but not like Echo Echo has a special tie to Del becuase they come from the same place. But dad says there are other dragons anyone could get.." the boy frowned at the thought of Tai not being allowed to have a pet , that was wrong. " Maybe you could get one and keep it here. if it was small i bet I could take care of it for you. I haven't even got my own pets yet I just share with Del" the green haired boy had to admit he was a bit jealous of that.

" maybe when you're older you can come to school with me, our uniform is annoying but not itchy" Not that Gil could really comprehend itchy that well " Sleepovers are good and I don't know those people. Don't know most people but that's ok." Everyone Gil had met he liked so that was fine with him.

" Not exactly I mean Echo was created for me but I was born first. I got to see him when he was just an egg being kept in the laboratory." Del smiled " But it is nice knowing I can always rely on him". The Dolphin like girl flexed her tail for a moment before setting it on the ground again. " Plus I need him for some things" she pointed to the opening on her head. " I have practically no smell receptors so I need Echo to be my nose."

Light grey eyed slid left to focus on the younger children. " Gil is pretty cool, he's very energetic if a bit clumsy. Tai seems sweet, she reminds me of a sort of sister I once had."

Gil liked Tai, she was full of questions and questions meant learning. In this case it meant Gil got to teach." Echo is too small to ride yet, but Del will be able to when he gets bigger. they'll be able to fly and swim together and stuff.."

As he spoke Gil walked around Tai to keep from getting bored. " Yes my school it's special it's a private school and you have to have stuff or do certain stuff or know people to get in"

Del shrugged a bit and just smiled at Melvin. " I don't seem to suffer from lack of sense of smell. It means my sense of taste isn't as strong but otherwise I'm fine." Del felt very fortunate that being what she was didn't come with any more disadvantages, though she supposed her echolocation, ability to hold her breath and her powerful tail made up for anything she suffered with.

She laughed a bit at his joke on the sense of taste " Cute, Gil's the opposite actually. he seems immune to pain whatsoever, though he does bruise normally he just doesn't seem to notice it. When he eats though you can tell he's clearly got heightened taste and he can easily be overwhelmed by it. things like lemons or certain spices just make him act oddly. Plus he wants to know how everything tastes."

Gil grinned " Dori and I tried to fly once but Dori's dad wouldn't let us" he sighed and frowned for a second . " I dunno about Echo, he might let me if he does You could come visit and I bet he'd let you fly with him too."

Gil thought that might be interesting and maybe Dori could join them and they'd all have fun togeather.

Dellooked thoughtful " I think they'll be fine, Gil tends to get hurt do to clumsyness more than being rough or anything. Tai should be fairly safe with him." Del figured mentioning his and Dorian's failed attempt at flying was probably better left undiscussed.



Gil grinned " Dori is my best friend, the one I went to the sleepover with. He likes to smell things a lot and sometimes he squishes stuff. And he knows someone named sewer." Gil liked talking about Dori as the other boy was one of the few things Gil knew a lot about.

Nap time for Echo was apparently over as the young drag appeared from around the back of the house and began a slow leisurely walk in the general direction of the group. For all he was a bronze dragon his scales shone gold showing his young age. Still, he was quite large like a saint bernard with wings and a tail.


Del spotted and smiled in his direction before returning her attention to Melvin. " I can sort of understand how you feel, I mean I wouldn't want any of my siblings or Echo to get hurt becuase in a way I hurt too then."

Gil had been about to reply to Tai when he too saw the approaching dragon. " See Tai that's Echo he's big to me but Del says he's small and one day will be huge."

Del placed a reassuring hand on the boy's shoulder " Relax Echo's pretty harmless, as long as Tai doesn't try to hurt him he won't hurt her."

Echo sighed silently as the unknown girl rushed towards him. He was most certainly not cute, it was a wound to his pride when anyone said that. Still what could he do about it? Resigned to his fate the young Bronze dragon stopped advanced and stretched out on the ground. Curious people tended to want to touch him and it was easier and more comfortable if he was laying down.

Echo stared uncertainly at the girl she was so strange and yet she amused him greatly. In response to her he lowered his head to the ground in a bow and gave a low rumble of greeting. Human language was still beyond his scope just yet but he would still return niceties. It was so rare to find those who used them.

Gil watched silently but smiled, Echo acted different around this girl and it was sorta interesting. Tai was also interesting so he supposed that was why.

Del just shook her head as she watched " Well that was unexpected but sorta cute."
